Excellent suggestions, amigo! I’m 66, original owner of a 1997 Flame Red Sport TJ….retired Navy and retired fed law enforcement….and I really miss my work (I know, I know…..how sick is that?!!?….but it’s true!). So now, to stay out of my wife’s “front sights” and safe from her countless “honey-do” items…I’m considering restoring my TJ. Bravo-Zulu, young man! And both of your Jeep’s scream “American Proud”! Well done!
Fester if you're driving a wider, oversized tire, they can also help add clearance on the inside of the tire from your control arms. That way your wheels don't rub on your control arms while you turn.
@@KyleSVT You're very welcome! New to the channel, thank you for your videos. Just getting into modding my jeep now that I can afford to :D one thing I got was the stubby antenna. Very cheap mod and w the black headlight bezels it looks great!
I think your flag stickers are facing the wrong way. If I’m not mistaken the stars should be facing the front of the vehicle. But your cars look really nice man! Good quality video.
One thing I want to do to my TJ is go from a soft top and half doors to hard top and full steel doors, but I can't believe how much people want for these used. $800 to $1000 for the pair of full doors and $1250 to $1750 for a hard top! I thought since millions of these were made and lots of jeep tj owners took them off for 4 wheeling anyways there should be lots around cheap. Not around here in California.
CentralCoastCamper not anywhere not just in Cali. My buddy’s gottin lucky out here in GA and found someone who had a good soft top and wanted a hard top and my buddy had a hard top and they just did a straight trade.

Love your videos man.. subscribed. You've really given me some great info about TJs. I'll be getting one here soon and I'll start going over numerous items you've covered in your lists of videos. Thanks again
It really depends how you're going to use it. - Lockable storage is nice, even if you never leave pavement. I have a Yakima rooftop box, so I'd probably get a body-mounted roofrack to put that on. A lockable steel console is nice too. - I'd like to tow a boat, so I'd get an LJ and set it up with high 2" receivers front and rear. Then I'd wire it for trailers. I'd also put airbags inside the coils to handle the loads without sag. - The receivers would also facilitate a multi mount winch (recovery), so I'd wire for that. - Armor is worth it if you want straight sheetmetal. I'd get rockers and rear corners to start. - Anti-swaybar disconnects can be fabbed for cheap, so I'd put some of those on, checking my brakehoses for adequate length. - I already have a few CBs for group trailruns. - Lunchbox lockers work. I could run 1 or 2 of those cheaply until regearing and going with selectables. - Siped mudders work great for me. I don't bother with ATs. 33x10.5s on 15x7s fit LJs with little to no other mods. - A 1" poly bodylift replaces trashed rubber bodymounts. It also clears 33x10.5s, a 1" motormount lift, and high-clearance skids. I'd work on those mods to maintain low COG while improving clearance. - I'd mount a snorkel, and also run all my vent hoses to the top of it. - 33s would necessitate a better carrier for the spare. I'd hang one on the rear receiver bumper. It'd be nice for mounting a rack above the spare, and water/fuel jerrycans on either side. - I'd convert the swingate to a tailgate that's sturdy enough to haul a dirtbike in the back of the Jeep with the softtop off. I could even turn the LJ into a pickup by using a bikini top and a cab curtain...with the rear seat removed. - A 2" spring lift would be simple, but allow more articulation and clearance. - Tube fenders for durability and more tire clearance would be great.
