Hi Dr.Cliff. Excellent advice! Iv considered buying the Eargo 6, or 7. but have a borderline severe hearing loss! ii took your advice and went to Cost Co, and receved excellent service from there audioalagist, plus they back up the hearing aids with a three year warentee. i lost an aid about a year later, in a windy rain storm, and they replaced it like they said they would. If Eargo ever comes out with an aid for severe loss, id try them

Thank you for another excellent insightful review! Have you considered reviewing the Jabro Select Enhance hearing aids since they bought Lively? I had considered trying those, but the audiologist for my hearing aid insurance recommended I get prescription hearing aids for my hidden hearing loss.

I’d never heard the term “hidden hearing loss” before and I just looked it up. People with this condition typically have normal hearing test results but still have trouble understanding speech in anything but perfect conditions. Apparently low gain hearing aids with noise reduction can help.

So in one part of your video, you say these dont do a good job with amplifying soft voices, and at the end you say they might be perfect people having difficulty hearing soft voices. Which is it?

I think if you put the numbers together the Ergo stuff is sort of a rental. Rechargeable batteries lose longevity quickly and are not replaceable. So you pay $90 a month for the 2 years of warranty on a product that probably can not be repaired post warranty is actually pretty expensive if you grasp you are paying $90 a month for the rest of your life. At least that is how my conversation went with the rep. If the initial price was about 15-20% lower I would put consider these as an option but given over the next 5 years I would pay over $5k for these units.
STILL, these things are very comfortable for the average person and have gotten so much better I will consider these in Ergo 8.

Well, hopefully the 7 is better than the 6. My Eargo 6 when placed in the charger overnight will not awaken when taken out of the charger in the morning. Eargo's advice, "Do not place the devices into the charger until about 4 hours prior to using them. Now that's a wonderful answer, just think about that when buying Eargo...

@drcliffaud thanks for the review!how do you feel the compare to Sony’s CRE C10, which are only $1000? I’m trying both right now and don’t really hear a difference between the two. It’s mainly the customization and comfort level for the Eargos.

Hi Dr Cliff: I love your videos! Just bought Eargo 7's had the 5's and the Neos. The 7 seems a little better but not greta I'm on a 45 day trial. I went to a hearing specialist and I can get the second from the best Phonak Titanium for $3600. In your opinion would the Phonak be a lot better than the Eargos? Like everyone I have the most problems in loud environments so wondering if the Phonak would be much better. Eargo 7 is $2300, Phonak $3600. Thanks

Thank you for such a great review. I am currently still on the trial period with Phonak Titanium P90 IIC. The unfortunate thing about them is the occlusion I get with them. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to get used to that, so I’m pretty sure I will be returning them. What I do like about them is how natural everyone’s voices sound. I was all set to try the Eargo until you mentioned they sounded tinny. Also I need help with soft voices and it appears Eargo won’t be much of a help. So, thank you and I’ll continue on with my search.

Louder noises cause/contribute to hearing loss(?), a hearing aid make the sounds louder(?), so do hearing aids affect hearing loss? Delay as much as possible?

I heard some doctors programming them first just for sound therapy via special protocol before they using them for tinnitus and hearing loss. ? Is it true?

Do any over the counters have bluetooth. I prefer in ear Headphones because big headphones are just bulky. I also have a tonal issue with Mild to moderate loss.
