It seems like Jimmy saves my life every winter when it gets very gray, cold, and depressing for me…I just put on a Jimmy cd and it becomes warmer with hopes of spring getting closer quickly. RIP to a guy who seemed like a really genuine and good guy.
Never saw a man who smiled more than Jimmy Buffett. Sail on Jimmy. Rest in Paradise.. This South Florida girl grew up on Jimmy. Some of the best songs ever. Great voice with a huge ❤.
I cried like a baby when I saw this video as this song has a particular place in my heart. After hearing how this song saved Jimmy’s life I would say in many ways although different, this song saved my life as well. Many years ago I was quite a different young man when I met this particular girl who was quite different from the rest. We had met a few months earlier but I was resistant to commit even though I knew she was special. I had a trip planned with my buddies to Key West to get away to cut loose a bit during spring break. Having lived in Ft Lauderdale in the 80’s I was introduced to Jimmy Buffet and became I guess you could say, a Parrot Head. Anyway fast forward to my Key West trip I began to realize that the special girl I had been seeing meant so much more to me then I wanted to admit. So much so my heart really began to miss her like no one ever before. Now up to this point we talked about not seeing each other exclusively but I realized that I not only wanted to spend the rest of my life with her but I didn’t want to ever leave her again. So one night while “Come Monday” was playing in the background I decided to call her and tell her my feelings. It was that night told her I would be back early Monday and asked her to “save Monday for me”. Fourteen months later we were married and it is still one of the happiest days of my life but it all started with that lonely night and Jimmy Buffet in the background singing “Come Monday”. Now after 30 years this song still has a special place in our hearts. So much so every time we hear it we say “save Monday for me” my wife with a smile and me with a tear in my eye.
Looks like Jimmy Buffett is heading up to Heaven for the Labor Day weekend show. Love that song and loved the man as well. Great talent, he definitely will be missed!
@@heydeanie- For heaven's sake, don't give up playing "Come Monday," on Labor Day! As long as we keep playing his 'anti-stress' music he will never die, and we will live longer, happier lives.
I'm 53 years old now. I saw him in concert when I was 22, in Indiana, at an amphitheater in cornfield country and he took us in the thousand plus crowd to the sea breezes and french wines and cheeses and Belizes and trade winds of a world far away from wherever adulthood would have us confined for the next 30 years. Smooth seas, sir.
Sad to hear of his passing😢 He's one of our beloved native born locals where I live on the Gulf Coast. Always felt like he'd live forever. And now, forever in our hearts, music and nature.❤
That's exactly how I felt - that he'd live forever. Being in a tropical band and playing some of his songs, it feels like life will never be the same. I feel like a little happiness might have left the earth - but he WILL live on in our hearts, minds and songs - and I'm pretty sure he's playing some amazing tiki bar in heaven right now 🥰🍹The party's not all over!

RIP, right here the whole world can hear and see why he was so special. He had the ability to transport the listener to another place with his guitar and voice.
That little look he gave after he strummed that last chord like "well what do ya think?" What a character, great song writer and not a half bad singer, they broke the mold that Christmas day in 1946. RIP Mr Jimmy!
