You're spot on! Typically, a longer lease term will impact the monthly price and/or specials (though this is not an industry standard or requirement, it's up to each individual property's discretion).

Hey! Am planning to moved in austin by June 1st and am looking for less traffic areas! And am making about $43,000 a year. What is your advice please 🙏

With the current salary provided, focus on "tax credit / income-based" properties. These are properties that work with the city to provide affordable housing options. There are some "market rate" apartments that offer a few income-based units on-site as well but those are generally taken/occupied most of the time. Also, with income-based properties/units - start looking NOW because they generally have waiting lists if they're full at the moment.
In regards to the traffic...if you're moving to Austin-proper (within the Austin city limits), there's not much insight I can offer around the traffic (other than inquire with your employer about working remote some time of the week) ;D.
