28:00 - the idea that Russian-DPRK cooperation is somehow "detrimental" to the PRC seems rather implausible, given the overall strategic circumstances. The reality is, the PRC doesn't have much influence over DPRK, beyond constraining it from starting an all out war (which the DPRK wouldn't want to do anyway, since regime survival is priority #1). That said, the PRC does have to pay the cost of maintaining the DPRK as a buffer zone. Now, that cost will be shared by Russia to a far larger extent. Moreover, while there is definitely a competitive element to Sino-Russian relations as it relates to the Korean peninsula, in terms of "who has more influence", none of that matters in the face of the existential threat posed by the US. Even if Moscow's influence "eclipses" that of Beijing (doubtful), that's an acceptable price to pay if it undermines US strategic position to a far larger & more direct extent.

The effectiveness of sanctions against Russia largely hinges on gaining support from the Global South. Many in the West continue to perceive themselves as powerful and influential, but the reality is that Europe has been experiencing a gradual decline over the past decade. Countries in the Global South are increasingly reluctant to align with Western agendas, indicating a shift in geopolitical dynamics. This growing divide suggests that without the backing of these nations, the impact of sanctions may be significantly diminished. The Global South is seeking its own path and priorities, which often do not align with those of traditional Western powers. As a result, European leaders must recognize that their influence is waning and adapt their strategies to engage with and understand the perspectives of emerging economies.

20:30 they continue to recruit people from prisons, whereby more and more those who are non-violent offenders are also pressed into service along the lines of either you serve in the military and your debt to society is payed or you stay in prison, maybe for longer, maybe under harsher conditions. That ofcause might also synergize with people being put more easily into prisons, though that is just a speculation.

West? Sadly, the West is sitting idly by, unwilling to challenge those seeking to bring the rules-based, post-WW II order.
Frankly, the cowardly and corrupt West will not be able to regain its true courage, conscience, and intelligence unless France & Germany are occupied by a Putin-led invasion, and Washington is bombed as London was during WW II.
Only a direct and devastating crisis will call forth true Western leaders and heroes. Tragedy. But history thrives on tragedy.

    • @bangmo7
      @bangmo7 29 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

@lesguil4023 The West is an institutional concept, NOT a geographical one. The problem with non-Westerners is that they can not understand the institutional values and, as a result, ask some weird questions. They do not know what modernity or modern civilization is. We, the Westerners, believe in the Western values' universality. We think those are the quintessential core of modernity.
For example, Xi says Chinese is one form of modern civilization comparable to what we Westerners think the latter is. Xi calls this inclusiveness.

Many young men from economically challenged remote regions are joining the Russian military, drawn by substantial financial and other incentives. The contribution from North Korea is expected to bring a more organized and trained force. They will be led by their general to overcome the language barrier and implement their battle tactics. With Russia's resources and North Korea's need for economic support, this partnership presents a mutually beneficial solution.

In Russia there are many volunteers from Moscow and St Petersburg, the training is long, multi-stage now, I don't know anyone who complains about the training.
Even Ukrainian military specialists, but not propagandists, say that this nonsense about Koreans is just part of the propaganda of Ukrainian and ‘pro-Atlantic’ MSM, there are million of Russians in Ukraine, a few thousand Koreans, who are still difficult to manage because of the difference in language and training, will not do any good for Russia. And what army they are, they haven't fought since 1950s, it's ridiculous. But specialists in drones, artillery and electronic warfare, from completely different countries, are learning from the experience of the unique Ukrainian conflict on both sides of the front, both NATO and countries friendly to Russia.

+++It is absolutely unrealistic, although I would be happy as a Russian, I respect Koreans, as a talented hardworking people, by the way, we have enough of them in Russia, they studied with me at school, they are very good at mathematics, I would absolutely not object to the mass participation of Korean infantry in the conflict, real, one hundred thousand, two hundred, three hundred They would be a good help on such a long front line and for "social engineering" in the "occupied" expanses, or even for passive protection of the Russian border, their talent for mathematics makes them natural gunners. And their exercises are excellent precisely for urban battles, there are assault groups that are well coordinated for fighting in CQB, but they are beautiful in exercises, as in reality, without combat experience, a big question, yes, against the background of unique against the background of Russian assault troops trained by life and Wagner method.

"Russia is unpredictable. There is no analysis, forecast, diplomacy, reliable legality. You can't believe anything. It advances like bulls against the red spot, constantly needing external problems because it fears facing internal ones. This people is deeply sick of "Russianism". The world has to cure Russia, but nobody wants to."
"There will still be a massacre in Crimea. Ukraine will still clash with Russia. As long as Russism exists, it will never give up its ambitions...they want to subdue Ukraine, Belarus...Russia will die when the Ukrainian sun rises."
      - Dudayev, 1995.
In 1995, the President of Ichkeria (Chechnya), Dzhokhar Dudayev, predicted everything that is happening today. He was assassinated by russia the next year.
He predicted that russia would eventually attack Ukraine. He said that "as long as russism exists, they will never give up their ambitions."
He also predicted that Ukrainians will never tolerate russification and that the russian invasion of Ukraine would not end well for russia.
There are two important lessons here: First, unlike many still believe, the russian aggression didn’t start with Putin. and it will most likely not end with him.
Imperialism is deeply rooted in the history and culture of russia. And as long as it exists, russia will continue to attack its neighbors and suppress its colonial minorities.
The second lesson is that the West has been blind and impotent. When witnessing the brutal, bloody, and systematic destruction of people of Ichkeria, the West stood idly by and rewarded russia as the aggressor with stronger economic ties and political legitimacy.
If we truly want to live in a peaceful world, this needs to stop now. Russian empire needs to fall. As Dudayev predicted in 1995, russia’s aggression against Ukraine will be its downfall. The West needs to step up its military support of Ukraine.

I think NATO has to expand to Asia and Oceania, that much is a given. But here is my pitch for totally flipping the geopolitical script: support China going after their land claims in Russia and maybe freeing some of the Russian-dominated republics in the Russian east. In exchange, they give up their claim on Taiwan and both are allowed to join the expanded NATO AND they have to help pressure North Korea and Iran with the goal of ending both regimes. Everyone wins except the countries that can't seem to keep their hands to themselves.

How will South Korea react on NK having sent troops to Russia? The experiences learned in that war and some of the things they may also get in return from Russia would change the calculus for SK, too. They have a deal with Poland for a tank factory, could that be speed up? How about troops for Ukrain? If only as border guards so Ukrainian troops for the front líne could be freed up.

Russia will run out of equipment before it runs out of troops and both it still coudl get from its allies it seems. Still aslong support for Ukrain does not ceases and we in west would be able to reform/renew/build new factories and get our supply lines straightened out, increase military spending, send old equipment to Ukrain and stock up on state of the art equipment, i don't see any reason for Ukrain to loose this other than them at some point maybe having manpower shortages, but as now NK entered on russias side, it delivered a pretext for the west also to hand over troops to Ukrain. Already there are military advisors from the west in Ukrain, not in combat roles though. There the current loop hole could be the Ukrain International Legion, which ofcause are not NATO troops.

A strategy for a unified and free Korean Peninsula would be a major milestone that could influence both Red China and "Back to Stalin" imperial Russia.
This should have been pursued 30 years ago. It was the Kim Young-sam administration in South Korea that prevented the Clinton administration from bombing North Korea’s Yongbyon nuclear facility.
South Korean government made a critical mistake then, and Washington did not make more active efforts to persuade Seoul.
Now, the U.S. should prioritize the unification of the Korean Peninsula and export the values of freedom, democracy, and human rights to China and Russia.
We should make history great again through a unified Korea.
Otherwise, we will face a new "Axis of Evil 2.0" era with a nuclear-armed alliance of communist totalitarian states: China, Russia, and North Korea-more terrifying than in the 20th century.
Europe and the whole world will once again be enslaved by imperialist Russia and China. Nuclear-armed dictatorships in Syria, Iran, Africa, and South America will also threaten the United States.
This second Cold War will not be as favorable to the United States and the West as the first one.
And I completely agree with Maxwell's opinion :
《Why Americans dismiss Korean unification and why they must not》
With the confirmed commitment of North Korea People's Army forces to support Putin's War in Ukraine, it is likely that the symptoms of unification dismissiveness will grow stronger.
...(But) The only acceptable, durable political arrangement for the Korean Peninsula problem is unification. Policymakers and strategists in Washington must abandon outdated thinking - "Unification Dismissiveness." - and embrace the reality that unification - whether through peaceful transition or catastrophic change - is inevitable.
The U.S. must stand with South Korea, proactively shaping a future where unification aligns with the values of freedom, democracy, and human dignity - securing peace not just for the Korean Peninsula but for the world.
Anything less is a betrayal of the principles the U.S. claims to uphold. The only acceptable end state is the United Republic of Korea.

Russia is not struggling, basically they took over the most strategically important regions in Ukraine and are advancing. The moment they will overwhelm Ukraine, Iran will achieve the same in the Middle East, then China will quarantine and take over Taiwan. Pax Americana is falling apart. 5-10 years late in response. Especially having on mind the lag in real life, mass usable and low priced advanced high tech tools. The overall Western approach to security is outdated and worked against some dispersed small militarized groups but it fails massively against nations which even surpass the West technologically on the ground, underwater and in space.

And US Awacses and their drones doing direct, direct targeting and electronic flight mapping for ‘Ukrainian’ missiles, actually NATO missiles, just taking off from Ukrainian territory on Russia. Just in the hope, as Bolton said recently, ‘The Russians wouldn't dare respond.’ The idiots who have become insolent in their impunity since 1991 and have forgotten, if they ever remembered, the gravity of the past world wars, do not realize that with all the long patience (Ukraine and the US have been persuaded to solve the problem by peace since 2014) there is nothing that Russia would not dare to do. The yoke of tsarism was thrown off, then of Nazism, then, by the way, millions of demonstrations of Russian people ended communism and gave freedom to Soviet republics, and half of Europe, from communism, Yeltsin was besieged in 1993, so that he did not sell out the country completely to the USA, and now no one in Russia is afraid of this ‘Democratic good hegemon’ .

I haven't watched yet but the title is absurd. 1. There is no evidence that N Korean troops are fighting in the war.
    2. If they did, it's 1 of two things, neither of which should shock us. 1. They will fight in Kursk only in accordance with their mutual defense treaty. Or 2. They will fight without territorial restrictions. (I highly doubt this) 2. Would theoretically give us justification to involve more troops from the west but it doesn't change the essential escalation equation. We aren't willing to go there anyway because it probably leads to nuclear war. Let's say we send in the American military and win a crushing military defeat on Russia -they odds that that scenario ends in global thermonuclear obliteration have been deemed too high for us to risk.
So what Rubicon has been crossed here? None, of course. It's absurd.

You have troops in Syria which are NOT invited.
You also have troops in 800 other bases around the world, many of these territories have been ripped from the territories of other sovereign countries.
For example, may I ask, why don't you get out of Cuba ??

    • @martavdz4972

The issue is those troops might start fighting in Europe. An explosive combination. If Iranian troops arrived in Lebanon and there were concerns they might start fighting in Israel, everybody would fear a full-fledged war in the Middle East. Ukraine and Europe are half the world away from North Korea and its ideological enemies. Too close for comfort to a world war.

  • @Incorruptus1

Ukraine entered Kursk, and so far known, the NK troops will be operating in Kursk. Which is because Ukraine triggered the BRICS+ nations, of which so far we know only NK send them troops at large, the rest spoke against the war, but still India and China are delivering materials and non weaponry yet military goods. So the problem is that invading Kursk triggered the nations in the East, also triggered BRICS+ to come together. So Ukraine and NATO can say this is escalating the war and fans it out in to the indies, since South Korea also reacted, and will, yet how they will is a thing to see still.
SK is a strong partner of NATO as well. So with the invasion Ukraine did into Russia, the rest is now triggered to react. In that way Ukraine pressures not only Russia and Brics, but also pushes NATO, while we all know, NATO will not be pushed this way. They will react, as usual, which they also should. However hard it may seem this war should not be seed outward but stay as much concentrated to the nations now involved. So it should stay in Ukraine.
Seeding it out will not take the pressure of Ukraine, it will put the pressure on Ukraine even more, and on other nations far beyond. So if you ask me, it is simply a non worthy tactic, choice. But than Ukraine has all right to defend itself, so if they think it helps them, be my guest. By now I think they have to review their tactics...question is will they? If this is crossing a Rubicon is a useless outing, it doesn't at all fit the situation and seems a silly title. Crossing a red line is better suitable I guess.
Question is who walked the red line first well...Russia, yet with entering Kursk, Ukraine crossed the enemy's red line...and that is what Ukraine will be dealing with now, and drags us possibly along with them, right into a more internationally growing conflict.

    • @chillxxx241

BRICs+ has nothing to do with this military conflict. They are not a security or military organization. Russia has security alliances with North Korea and the CSTO (Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and possibly Armenia-they are in the process of leaving). China is a member of BRICs and it is one of Ukraine's largest trade partners.
