    when doing the first layer, can you add glitter while it dries and then apply the second coat to seal it?

      If you want to add glitter you can, just make sure your other layers after the glitter are pretty thick

      I saw on one of the resin manufacturer's sites that resin doesn't bond well to plastic and will peel, but if you apply something for it to grip on, such as spray on mod podge, that it won't peel. Dunno if it's true, but might work better

    I know you're getting a lot of the same questions and the food safe rule is 28 days BUT do you think it would be OK to drink from a sealed starbucks cup with the straw and wash by hand before the 28 days?

    • @MakersGonnaLearn
      @MakersGonnaLearn  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unfortunately we just don't recommend using the cup before the 28 days are up. It would stink to compromise the seal because we wanted to use it early (which I understand, I'm so impatient! lol).

    Thank you for your video! I have had such high hopes for using polycrylic as a sealer on cups, mugs, etc, but every time the items are gently handwashed under lukewarm water, the polycrylic peels right off (most of the items were washed under the 28 day cure time and a few with the cure time complete). Is there something you'd suggest? Perhaps a different approach?

      @PolishedBeauty 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@feliciareason6937 Do you live in a humid environment? I had the same problem when I lived in FL, it was soo frustrating 😔. My chemist friend recommended that I use a hair dryer to dry the polycrylic and it worked!! I applied one thin layer over the whole cup, let it sit for 10 mins, then sat the cup under a hair dryer on cold for 10 mins, applied another thin layer, thin sit the cup back under the dryer for another 2 hrs. Then I let it sit in a CLOSED cabinet, unbothered for 3 wks. Also, don't wash your cups with Dawn or Ajax, I use a plant based dish soap.

      Not really. After a few days you can give it, but make sure to include a note that says not to use it for however many days. Good Luck!

    I used this product on my cups and I allowed more than the 28 days. I realized that the policrylic bubbles and peels off . This product is a waste of time and money. If the client drops the cup they will have a lifted poly cup . I had to peel the product off it was so much work
