Con Air, The Rock, and Armageddon are the late 90s holy trilogy of Jerry Bruckheimer films.
Con Air, The Rock and Face/Off are the late 90s Nic Cage trinity :D
If you smeeeeeeeeeeeeelllllllll!
the rock
Kristen's sudden unexplainable crush on Nic Cage in this was hilarious.
She should watch Fast Times At Ridgemont High, Valley Girl, Boy In Blue to get a bigger crush on him.
"Unexplainable"?! It's peak 90s Nic Cage, the crush is self-explanatory.
A bit like my unexplainable crush on Kristen 😮
I got a sudden unexplainable crush on Malkovich in this 😆
Yeah except for her dissing that hair.
Yes, you were correct about Danny Trejo having served time. He was actually hired as a consultant on jail and prisoner stuff. But the producer and director liked him so much that they wrote in a part for him.
He can cook too! He has his own restaurants and brands! I saw him as a special guest on MasterChef.
The end credit scene is a classic.
"He respected her!"
I do love that Poe pauses before punching Sally-Cant-Dance and slaps her instead. It's such a funny break in the middle of the penultimate action scene. Renoly Santiago, who plays Sally, is also great in the movie Hackers, with a young Angalina Jolie.
He was also in Dangerous Minds.
In Hackers he was the "Phantom Phreak"
"Why couldn't you put the bunny back in the box?"
Fun Fact: Kid Rock based American Badass (2000) on Cameron Poe (Nicolas Cage).
Schwarzenegger Workout Fact: During set ups, Nicolas Cage lifted weights off camera to maintain the physique he had already attained for the film. Entertainment Tonight (1981) caught Cage working out between takes and aired the workout routine.
Location Location Fact: The Las Vegas scenes were filmed at the legendary Sands Hotel immediately prior to its demolition in late 1996. When the production team heard about the city's intentions to raze the historic landmark, they immediately scheduled a multiple camera setup to take advantage of the rare event, which is what you actually see in the movie. The sight of the planes flying in low formation over the Strip during filming caused a number of Las Vegans to call the police.
I used to love this movie back in the late 90's, still holds up. It is so of that era
It's crazy how Danny went from Con to one of the most recognized and respected actors alive. I know a few people who have met him and said he's one of the coolest guys they ever met.
I feel like that's a bit of an exaggeration as he usually has small parts in b-movies.
Major exaggeration
@@ebreshea1337The Hidden to me wasn't a B Movie but an A Movie he was briefly in.
Ain’t no exaggeration his face is definitely one of the most recognizable. Small roles or not
Make a move and the bunny gets it.
Put the 🐰down.....
*in a thick Texas accent..."I don't want, your life." Lol sorry wrong movie.
Sean Connery: "Drop the gun, or I drop your boss!"
Why couldn't you just put the bunny back in the box
So underrated Nic Cage movie, always have time for this film, classic 90’s classic with a touch of emotional scene at the end with his wife and kid. You felt that scene at the end. Great Classic 👏
Gotta watch face/off next since it’s another kick ass nic cage action flick.
Looove this one! John Malkovich has got to be one of my favorite actors...
he's so good in this.
Damn! I thought that was Doug Walker! 😅
He was great in Making Mr. Right, Red.
27:45 ~ I guess the most silent convicts are always the dangerous ones
I just want to point out that Nicolas Cage's Southern accent was entirely his own idea
ALWAYS REMEMBER TO PUT THE BUNNY BACK IN THE BOX!!🐰🐰🐰
he does not even flinch when shot in shoulder, best scene
Great review! You both make rewatching these films so much more entertaining! Fun fact, the southern rock band, Larkin Poe, is named after Cusack’s and Cage’s characters from this movie. They are known for their strong southern harmonies, heavy electric guitar riffs, slide guitar, and their music often draws comparisons to the style of the Allman Brothers.
The original script for this movie had the plane crashing into the White House & Cameron Poe saving the President from Cyrus. But early in production, they learned that the Vegas hotel they ended up using was scheduled for demolition, and they could pretty much do whatever they wanted to it. So they re-did the script & saved a ton of money on sets instead.
Imagine how much more bonkers this movie would have been if they’d gone with the original idea.
26:18 Kristen…um, yeah, there’s no recovering from that one. 😬🤣
These ladies now need to complete the Holy Trinity of Nic Cage movies which are Con Air, The Rock and Face/Off. Then watch The Unbearable Weight Of Massive Talent!
This one is for all the hummingbirds.
They called our home boy Dave chapple crack head 😂😂😂. Very true 😂😂😂
Check your facts😂
Can't leave us hanging like that did you see the last scene during the credits or not? Steve got awayyyy!!! The Scary Guy!!!
They did not even show any scene with garland saying crazy things
@@jamesmeechan6983really?! And I haven't watched the video yet
@@jamesmeechan6983Yup I hate that when these movie reactors never put in more good parts of the film.
Garland did let that lil girl live right
Yeah, Danny was the prison boxing champion at San Quentin. It was what led to his getting in the film business in a roundabout way. Eddie Bunker, who also served a stint in San Quentin while Trejo was there, went on to write a movie called RUNAWAY TRAIN and remembered Trejo when he showed up to set as a drug counselor for a crew member. So they hired Danny to be Eric Roberts boxing coach on the film, and then eventually just stuck him in as Roberts opponent because the director thought he looked unique.
CON AIR was also responsible with giving us one of the great songs of the late '90's - "Mrs. Potter's Lullaby."
Danny's cousin, Robert Rodriguez hired Danny for Desperado and From Dusk Till Dawn.
@@MrTech226I'm aware. Those films were over a decade after RUNAWAY TRAIN. He already had a film career by the time he got cast in those
Most important message of the movie that nobody notices. Never take a plea bargain
Everyone in this is endlessly fun. This is how you do ensemble action.
Exactly, its done terribly nowadays
They don’t make em like this anymore. This may be my favorite Nic Cage movie!
The Rock is my first favorite Nick Cage film
Mine is the Family Man
Con Air is great as well.
ConAir and Face Off; #1 & #2
Have you seen Vampire's Kiss? Now that's a proper Nic Cage movie lol 😂
Nic Cage in some of the best years of his career! Love this movie!
Great movie. you should also see Nick Cage in Face Off . Nick Cage has allot of great movies like Snake Eyes, National Treasure movies, The Sorcerer Apprentice and 8mm (A very shocking movie) . Other plane action movies are Passenger 57, Executive Decision and Flight Plan
Air force 1
Valley Girl, Boy In Blue, Birdy, Rasing Arizona.
@@Da1nonlyRahulHe wasn't in Air Force One.
@@ZavaXavierBut I added it to the list of 'other plane action movies'
The scene with the judge always pisses me off, because there are actually judges like that. Dude literally implied Poe should've just taken the knife and died, because I guess responding with deadly force when confronted with deadly force is bad if you are much better at it.
Danny Trejo got his break in another great film Runaway Train (1985). He was hired to do a boxing scene and made some good connections and a good impression. Nick Cage's career is full of good films, including what I think you should take a look at called 8mm. It's so intense many people can't stick it out to the end. Loved the reaction and hope to check out more.
I remember him being in a death wish movie he's been around
Dave Chappelle as Pinball was hilarious as usual.
The "Top Gun vibe" might have something to do with both films being produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. A lot of his films have a similar "glow", much like that of Tony Scott's films, "Top Gun" being one of their many collaborations.
It has to be Poe get the bad guy not the police Poe is the hero with a wee bit of help from Larkin and he threated his daughters bunny lol
Kristen
You are correct about Danny Trejo who plays Johnny 23. Danny served time at San Quention because of drugs. At San Quentin, Danny became champion boxer. During his time there, Danny found faith and started 12 step program to get clean. Plus, Danny earned his high school diploma in prison. His time in the prison system ended in 1972. His movie career started in the 80s at an extra. Because of his past, Danny was hired for prison movies. On this movie, Danny stated that Nic Gage was cool as hell! On John Cusack as Kickboxing badass! Most amazing part about Danny is that he is 79 years old. By the way, Danny owns Mexican restaurant chain in California called Trejo's Tacos. Plus, he owns other places serve food: coffee and donuts.
Wikipedia is great, isn't it?
This movie is great, but the premise is absurd. This highly decorated veteran gets a 7 to 10 year sentence in Federal Prison (?) for defending himself against 3 guys with knives, in a fight he, in no way, provoked. He must've had the worst lawyer in existence :D
Judge has stock in private prison and prosecution gets an easy win on their record. They wouldn't care who it was unless they were rich
@ericwallace3175 Plus the judge probably has it out for US military personnel.
@@ericwallace3175 In reality the case never would have even gone before a judge. The prosecutor wouldn't even try to charge him, it's absurd.
A corrupt criminal judge is only as corrupt as the cases the prosecutor puts in front of him.
Cyrus the virus is one of the best villains ever 👍🏻
Conair is free to watch on TH-cam right now.
4:57 Fun Fact: This girl plays the copy girl in F*R*I*E*N*D*S...the one Ross slept with while he and Rachel were "on a break", and she's from my hometown of Hamilton, Ontario.
No way! Good ol’ Hamiltron.
It's Garland Greene.
#1 ConAir
#2 Face Off
#3 Raising Arizona
What are your top three Nicholas Cage movies?
I hung out with Steve Buscemi during filming when i lived in Utah, great guy, chatted for a couple hours
After Nichols cage did this movie. He was supposed to do Superman after this but it never happened. I do love this movie. I thought it was great and good and the one liners were awesome. This has to be one of my favorite Nicholas cage movies
You can't possibly mean he was going to play Superman? He's way to homely to play Superman.
Ditto
@@ckobo84Nick Cage is a little more than average looking. Which I actually like. In this movie and most of the 90's, he is really good looking to me. Weird looking, but not bad or homely. 😂
There's something special about movies like Gone in 60 seconds and Con Air.
Danny Trejo spent quite a bit of time in jail for various crimes. (Mostly crime related some for assault.)
He's been sober for over 50 years.
When Nicolas Cage is not being Nicolas Cage! 😅
The Rock/Con Air/Face off ... the Cage-Trilogy of Awesomness
Okey i gonna simp for Hayley here, a truthful and on the spot reaction imo ! Nothing over the top to please the masses ...
"He's the uncle in Spy Kids"
Danny has a long history with Robert Rodriguez. Check out El Mariachi, and it's sequel/remake with a budget Desperado.
My favorite movie😊from🇯🇵
The best scene in this film is at the end, the most feared bandit on the plane becomes a famous gambler in Las Vegas.
I saw this in theaters when it came out and it was such a great time. That ending where Poe reunites with his wife and meets his daughter completely wrecks me every time. It was sweet way to cap off an otherwise bad-ass action film. There are a couple of parts I wish had been clipped out for this video, though. The first one being where Poe says "on any other day, that might seems strange" when the Corvette is flying behind the plane because it's caught on the chain. The other one being when the motorcycle cop drops the doughnut with a bite taken out of it when he joins the climactic chase scene. Both parts got quite a laugh in the theater lol. I wanted to see if you two had the same reactions.
I too had the same enjoyment at the theater when it came out I like those scenes they should stay in.
Hmm. Since I only watched this and not the full video I don't know for sure if you saw it or not but there is a credits scene that shows Steve Buscemi's character Garland Greene wasn't caught and was still on the loose.
Major mistake in the courtroom scene. Rangers are subject to the same laws as civilians when it comes to civilian cases.
The very last scene is where the Steve Bucemi character (however it's spelled) ends up.
Kristen is my newest online crush! 😍😍
Yeah she is smart and very sexy.
both of you are simps. sad.
She gave Poe a kiss on the cheek not the lips
Cyrus The Virus has one of the best villain deaths of the late 20th century. I recommend Being John Malkovich for a watch. It should've won Best Original Screenplay over American Beauty. It's absolutely hilarious and bizarre.
😂😂thay called dave chappell a crackhead i lost it
For more good 90s action, consider
"The Peacemaker" 1997 - young and hot George Clooney and Nicole Kidman.
I KNEW I recognized you from somewhere!!!!! you were in Best F[r][iends!!!!
Fun one, Ladies! Thanks for sharing it. 🙂
Yes, he believed his lawyer. Really the whole thing was self-defense as they attacked first - military record or not he would have been found not guilty, but because his lawyer blundered, and he pleaded. Nothing he could do. I love this movie. Just a feel good action flick. Great reaction you two. Kristen makes it so much better with her comments, giggles and laughs.
Also the lazyness of Law Enforcement who should've investigated the others who took the knife and found the truth.
@@ZavaXavier there's so much wrong with it, it was self-defense, he clearly did not start it (were there no witnesses in the bar?), there was 3 of them, with knives...
Man see Kristen, man happy, man click, man watch, man like🥰😅🤣
Growing up in Vegas, I was laughing because a lot of those places were "inaccurate." Also, there are a lot of abandoned towns out in the desert.
@11:53 - If Azazel thinks you're crazy...you might just be crazy XD
Love this film such a classic just like face off
You mentioned in the end you're not as knowledgeable as some of the team but I do like it about you cause the reaction is more authentic, you're more immersed and engaged with the content while the guys are kinda too critical, the don't immerse themselves as much they always getting distracted by the actors names, judging the plot, acting performance etc, while you really focus on having an good time and following the story along, I think it makes for an more enjoyable react because you're more connected with the movie universe, imo.
your most hated guy, O,Brian from star trek. love it.
"Cant you just have him swallow it?"
Insulin doesnt work like that.
I recommend y’all both watch 3000 miles to Graceland, the Machete movies & Desperado👍🏽
This is some great 90's action cheese.
Great job Ladies , 👍🌹🌹
I did not mind his hair l thought it was car especially when he was running
Yes. Please more.😊
Similar happened to my brother in law, he was attacked in a attempted robbery when he was washing his truck at a carwash, one guy took a head kick and hit the wall and it ended him. My brother in law almost got put away because he was military and they basically arent allowed to defend themselves. Luckily he was cleared
Poor Dave Chappelle 😂
Very nice reaction and I could imagine you would like the movie 'RED' (2010) too. 😉
The Rock, Con Air & Face Off perfect Nic Cage action trilogy.
have you ever watched the movies under seige, broken arrow,s.w.a.t,the negotiator, falling down or the longest yard before?
You don't hear much about Broken Arrow, but it was pretty great.
This is the all time come home from a good night out movie. Nothing better than to be few drinks in, need a movie where the brain doesn't need to think about it. Good guy, bad guy, Nicholas Cage and whatever accent he's attempting haha
One favorite reaction videos
This movie was really fun and very much rewatchable
The bad guys are really bad, the good guys are really good (despite having been in jail!), and the action scenes are full of explosions, destruction, and sweaty, muscular men.
simple blockbusters are simple and predictable. like this, some actually good despite the cookie cutter simplicity
Even as a kid, I thought him pleading guilty was dumb and him getting all that time was stupid. He was defending his pregnant wife. I think he would’ve been okay.
He said. That is Garland Greene. Not garlic
Cage did great movie con air the rock face off back in 1990s
yes Danny Trejo was a Major villain in his early years he had a tough life. have read well listened to his Audiobook (he read it) he got his break in Runaway Train playing a role of a Boxer for $320 a day and hes prolific in staring in films he's been in about 250+ and most he gets killed.
The hair adds to the body
Awww you guys skipped showing my favorite part, the scene between Poe and Larkin in the airplane hangar.
Love this movie.
You guys should check out other Nicholas Cage classics like Face Off 1997 and Lord of War 2005
The clevage though :O
Perfect classic action movie. Extra cheese, just the way i like em.
YOU DONE MADE BEST FRIENDS WITH CYRUS THE DAMN VIRUS
Ez one of the best action movies
I was a kid when this came out, I do t think anyone was rooting for the cons. That’s how movie fans have changed over the years.
It was a cool scene you did not show of pie running and jumping out if the window of the explosion from the plane blowing up and when he is running when they are shooting at the police convoy when Larkin is protecting them poe
You're both marvellous! Watching films with you makes them even more enjoyable. Please watch "STEVEN SEAGAL" films like Above the Law, Out for Justice, Under Siege 2. Your reactions in fight scenes are incredibly impressive... You make that scenes more exciting.
Cyrus has a serious headache.
I hope they saw the final scene with Garland in the full reaction.
