Frauenfeld is the beautiful capital of the canton of Thurgau and is located in the north of Switzerland. Frauenfeld Castle and the charming old town are eye-catchers.
The town was probably built in the second third of the 13th century in the immediate vicinity of the tower of Frauenfeld Castle, which was built around 1230. On 25 May 1799, Frauenfeld became one of the sites of the Second Coalition War (1799-1802) in a battle when Austrian and French troops clashed there.
The Openair Frauenfeld, which is the largest open-air music festival in German-speaking Switzerland and the largest hip-hop festival in Europe, is also very well-known.
