While I know I have a TON of cosmetics I want to go through my skincare, haircare, and makeup collections with you and understand what I have, how I can best organize it, what I want to work through, and see if there is anything I can declutter in my bathroom!

Wow ... you have so many items! I laughed when you said it used to be worse. I have a small makeup bag with one little tray of eye shadow, two mascara, one eye liner, one brow brush plus some makeup brushes. I have four nail polishes but plan to give away two of them. As for skin care, I decluttered everything the other day and am left with three jars of cleansers. I find that at my age, the less I put on my face the better!
Haha right!! 🙈 Slowly working through it and getting rid of things as they expire. At least I am saving money not having to purchase new things! Love that you have basically one of each item and such a curated collection! That's really all we need!

I have to admit that since I've been working from home the past year, I rarely put on makeup. However, I recently started doing my makeup more often to make it feel more normal - and as a catalyst to get myself out the door more often. I have so many Lancome eye shadow palettes (mostly gifts with purchase) that I'm inspired by your video to pull out and play with again. I also love Chanel gel coat for a top coat...no bubbles!
I find myself wearing a lot less makeup working from home as well! I put on just a bit when I know ill have to be on camera that day for meetings. Yes, those free gifts with purchase are so easy to forget about!
I thought I had lots of makeup, skincare and backup but you’ve got me bet. I probably would’ve had as much if I didn’t get rid of stuff every so often. I would for sure get rid of the eyeshadow palettes that are mostly used up. I really do love your videos and have gotten lots of great ideas that I have used. Thanks😍

There are a few products that I always finish before buying a new one like foundation, bronzer, and concealer. I am trying to work through my eyeshadows. I love that naked palette!
For sure smart to have less of those liquid products on hand since they expire faster too! I feel like we are all in the same boat with too much eyeshadow!!
this was absolutely fantastic and I was very excited to see that someone else uses the exact same system :) It’s nice to know that I’m not overthinking it! the only difference is I have a very tiny bathroom and no linen closet (which I absolutely hate, but it is what it is) I have this wonderful vertical Lazy Susan that I got on Amazon that looks really cheap but it’s excellent because it’s two-tier and you can adjust each sections height. It’s invaluable for trying to keep things organized in my very small space because I can 100% customize it and not waste one inch. I also got too much make up at one point doing the similar beauty boxes so I found a chart online about expiration dates for makeup and I wrote the expiration date on all my extras so when I go through it if the date has passed and I still haven’t used it, I just immediately throw it out. It really helped declutter my backups and I just have to remember that the money that I spent is already gone I won’t get it back by keeping an expired product.
The two tiered lazy susans are great too! Super smart way to keep on top of expiration dates! Subscription boxes can be dangerous that way!
I had to give a little giggle, at myself, because I am a little like you are when it comes to using stuff until the end. I ‘want’ ( not need) to place a grove order, but I won’t let myself because there is still some left in both of the fall scents. I used to use the same pencil until I sharpened it to death. Just my little quirky self

Don’t forget that makeup expires. I use my makeup until it’s gone to a point. Mascara gets changed out every 3 month due to bacteria build up.
Oh for sure! It does, especially those liquid products like mascara. I am thinking of sharing of video on when to toss cosmetics!

My eye doctor told me a little schedule for eye makeup. Mascara and eyeliner you use on your water line every 3 months. Liquid eyeliner and eyelash glue every 6 month. Other types of eyeliner a year. Eyeshadow 4 years. All time frames are based on when you first expose them to air. Can't saw I strictly follow those except the 1st one 😉. It does help me not to buy as much eye makeup!
So I really could relate to all the duplicates and extras. The subscriptions and auto-delivery stuff is a BIG TRAP. They take your money and send lots of stuff bit, they dont tell you it will expire and you will never use it all up. I now only buy when I'm totally out of a product.
100%!!! They are fun but in my opinion not worth all of the excess stuff that you can't work through before it expires!
You should do a project use it up to get rid of things ... love those videos! 💕

Loved watching this, even though I just went through all my cosmetics etc. after watching this I will now do mine again tomorrow! 🤣 I’m just like you I try so hard to use up my makeup before purchasing new, but in lockdown so many things have changed and I’ve realised I don’t use or need half of what I have...so a lot of it needs to go. It’s just dealing with the guilt of over purchasing! 😔
I can totally relate to that guilt, especially with cosmetics, often times it is SO expensive so its hard to get rid of items without using them up!

I use my makeup until it is all gone. I’ve even cut tubes to get the last bit out. I have a very small Naked eyeshadow pallet that has 3 colors used and the others completely full. In the past I purchased way too many products from Bath & Body and as a result I ended up with so much stuff I could never use it up before it expired. Is gave some away and kept just my favorite scent.

@@allisonlink6311 thanks Allison! I will be sending a donation to Project Beauty Share and looking for a similar foundation in my area. I usually toss stuff things out or donate them to Goodwill but I have a stash of items the foundation accepts that Goodwill doesn’t and for some reason I was having a problem parting with them. You inspired me to too look into gathering such items and donating to local women’s shelters. What a worthy cause! Thanks and have a fab day.
I try to use things up but since Covid I don’t wear as much make up as I used to!

Same here! I have two I really like, I have the clarins UV plus and my favorite is the elta MD broad spectrum 👍
I used make up for a little while when I was around 16-17 but since then never. I only use my labello for my dry lips and that's all, I don't have make up. I am wondering if that make up in the back up pile will still be good by the time she needs to use it. Doesn't make up have a shelf life too?
Yes, it does have a shelf-life! While powder products last longer than liquid they all expire!

Hi Sophie: I tend to throw out stuff because I worry about germs. I've wasted a lot of product that way. Do you have any thought s on the bacteria in the makeup? Thx
I think that is completely fair! It totally depends on the type of product, I especially work about jars that you directly may stick your hands or fingers into or ones that allow for lots of air to sit with the product!
@@SophisticatedOrganization Thanks! I've turned into a germophobe with the pandemic. Tatcha provides a scoop to use in taking product out of the jar so you don't have to use your fingers. Val
The only products I’ve ever fully used through are lipsticks/lip stains. I think it’s bc I know those expire faster than powder products. I’m still working through all of my eyeshadow palettes though! I told myself I won’t buy another eyeshadow palette until I finish the 5 I already own right now
