I have the same guitar, my only complaint is the volume pot which is more like an on-off. Goes from loud to silent quickly with only a little in between but for the price that is very manageable quirk. Better than my old Squier that drops volume randomly.
And yes it is gateway Gretsch. You play nicely and clean. Quite bluesy-soulful.

I have this exact guitar and it's a really great les paul alternative. Much lighter than either the gibson or epiphone verison, with much brighter sounding pickups closer to the traditional Gretsch filter'trons. The knobs might be a bit cheap and the pickups aren't the absolute greatest, but for the quality of the body and electronics you get for around $400 you can't beat it!

I think it has a bit of the "Gretsch sound". The bolt-on neck, wood, and pickups give the guitar its own character.

My go to guitar for studio here in Thailand. Live I use it before my Les Paul Tribute. Low output pups that cut through ANY MIX. I disagree as this being a back up guitar live. You will have no problems with this as a main guitar.

I was sold on Gretsch by looks- then the sound demos- the Gretsch sucked !!! The strat prevailed 1000 percent over Gretsch and being a gibson hater I didn't even consider the les paul,, Just my honest opinion and yes I do own a Gretsch
