I chose THIS over an Epiphone Les Paul!

  • I bought a Gretch G2210 Streamliner Junior Jet Club in imperial stain after looking at two guitars, this one and an Epiphone Les Paul in walnut, i chose this one as i've never owned a Gretch guitar before and i got it at a great used mint price of $250 online.
    It has amazing Broadtron pickups which sound growly and full, a synthetic bone nut, 12" radius and a laurel fingerboard, great all round spec on the guitar and it plays really nice!
    Thanks for watching - Derek

    That axe definitely has that beautiful Gretsch chime. They are one of the most underrated brands out there. I’m sure you will find a quick way to take off that gloss. I think the quality of Gretsch guitars is the best for the money. Cheers!

    I got one of these when one of the online retailers had it on sale for $300. I can't believe how it performs. Neither can my guitar friends. It plays like a box 10 times the price. Plus it's a stunner. I did have to adjust the bridge but that was it. I also got that beautiful walnut finish which matches my Gretsch 2420 Streamliner (another impulse buy when Guitar Center was having a holiday sale). I'm up to four Gretsch guitars now and I have to stop, although these sales make it really hard!

    Wow, I bought this guitar like you did (except I got the Gunmetal finish). I also bought the Epiphone Les Paul Traditional IV Gold worn, as you did. I love both of these guitars, and your demos of them are excellent! As is the Epi LP, it's a great bargain for the quality and aesthetics. I also prefer a satin finish, but I love this guitar anyway. Thanks for your demo and feedback on this very nice and affordable beast of a guitar.

    I bought the Gretsch Jet g5220 earlier this year. It's a step up from the Steamliner but I agree on all points. We'll bullt, feels great and sounds great with the Broadtron pickups. First guitar I haven't wanted to change the pickups on. I already had a Gibson Les Paul but the Gretsch sounded and felt so unique and the price was right, I had no problem buying it after a quick demo at my local music store. Definitely a fan of Gretsch.

    I have an older version of the Junior Jet, a G 1315 which was made beetween 1999 and 2003 in Korea. I love this guitar, it plays and sounds absolutely great.
    It's my only solidbody, since I play primarily hollowbodies and classical/Flamenco guitars. It does everything I want it to do.
    Before the Gretsch I had a SG and a Telecaster, both US made originals. I like the Gretsch better, although it is a budget instrument. Quality is simply amazing, not only considered in relation to the price.
    The pickups have more clarity and bite than PAF-style humbuckers, but still keep warmth and a full, rich sound over the whole range. I have a hollowbody Gretsch, too, with the same pickups. I really like them a lot.
    If you're in the market for an affordable single cut, then give the Junior Jet a try. It could please you as well.

    Dangg this a superbly done vid on the matter! Got me one from Prinz Guitars in my Hometown Amsterdam last month. Aubergine sparkle, Its got a lot of low man. Swapped it for a bunch of vinyl records that were not gonna make it to discogs since in recent years I sold off my collection of around 2500 records. Still a fair bunch of 7s and 12s and albums wich they display at the entrance of their well equipped and super friendly store located on the Prinsengracht. Fab guitar indeed but had to flatten the frets immediately for my capo would complain bitterly. Plays like a dream now though. Very happy with my swap purchase must say although my 150 euro Chinese Strat with enhanced hardware and a p90 in the middle ( wich I rammed in there using a hammer and chisel ) is even better and I got that one from a place called "The Plug" in you guessed it, the same city. Thats more like a vintage guitar dump store with some jewels in the mire but most of it is absolute sheit believe me. still a fun place with old rock geezerz hangin out. check Wondertrees on Spotify if you like good indie Americana, Laterzz

    I've had Gretsch Jets, both single and double cut, and a Corvette. All Electromatic models. Everyone a fantastic guitar, built so much better than their price. Blacktop FIltertrons on 2 were just great. Gretsch pickups are always fantastic. The Megatrons on the Vette some of the best I've ever had. Yet, I never fully bonded with any of the 3 (ergo I HAD). And, I couldn't tell you why.

      You can only do your best...the 2 screws behind the bridge move the upper and lower brige back and forth. I am looking for an adjustable wrap around for it... high end les pauls have them too

    • @stefanschmidt7855
      @stefanschmidt7855 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The adjustment is easy. It depends also on the strings.
      I play 11 gauge from two well-known US quality brands, and the intonation is just perfect.
      With gauge 10 which I used before the low E was not right, but only a little.

    • @kyleserafin9616
      @kyleserafin9616 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Check out archtop intonation guides, they're essentially the same thing. You fine-tune the intonation for the low and high E strings using the four screws on the top and back of the bridge. Given how the bridge is shaped, the middle four strings should be "close enough," or so the thought behind these sorts of bridges go.

  • @poodlebites69

    I love mine. I don’t play it as often as my higher end guitars but when I do it’s like hookin up with a hot punkabilly chick with attitude and a bottle of bourbon. It’s fun! The pickups are underrated. The tuning is so so but if you’re feelin sloppy and groovy that can work. I have shied away from Gretsch guitars because I just don’t like the feel, but I really like this one. Cheap and cheerful.
