Sometimes, when you are applying for a remote work from home job and then when you are in the middle of an online video conferencing job interview, the HR and the company spends even more time in checking the specifications of your laptop, your internet speed and your noise-cancellation headset if you have one with you depending on the online job that you're applying for. The technical requirements that are coming from all virtual companies can be very strict at times most especially in the Philippines or the country of where I'm from so I would highly suggest that you should save up money to buy a better laptop, a headset with built in mic, and a router with faster internet speed if you really want to work from home rather than work onsite all day

Hey, im loving your content! :) i'm heading over end of october from the UK on a WHV with 10 years of IT experience. Ideally i'd like to get a few interviews before i'm over there. Would you recommend stating on my resume/cover letter that i'm not arriving until then? as my UK phone number is probably a tell tale sign anyway!

Hey, thanks for the lovely feedback :) Regarding your question, if you're not in Aus yet, perhaps it'd be best to get in touch with Aussie recruiters directly via Linkedin first (instead of applying directly for jobs) to tell them about your situation, test the job market and see what's available (you may even secure some interviews before you land here - this usually works well as long as your skills and experience are in demand).

The best interview I had, wasn't an interview.

In the best interview I’ve ever had, we didn’t discuss the job. They were looking for a geophysicist, and we spent the best part of an hour talking about music composition, Japanese traditional graphic arts, and radio astronomy. They offered me the position later that day.
      I still don’t understand why.
ETA: I _am_ Australian, and the job was local…

      @@christophersmith108 just gelled?
In mine, we were just talking about the company and how the boss set everything up, as well as movies, sounded like passions of theirs. It also seemed like they had already decided to give me the job.

@@TheRICKY85I guess so. They were/are a seriously large company though, and I didn’t think they would have allowed the interviewers that much leeway. I remember leaving thinking that it had been a very interesting conversation, but I probably wasn’t going to be offered the job.
