    I started to watch your channel as soon as I learned my granddaughter applied for teaching position in Melbourne which was a year ago. She is there on 2 year visa since September. Loves it. She met another teacher on internet from another school not far from her. Looks like a great match. Same interests etc. He is Australian. I learned so much from your channel and gave her so many tips from you as she had very little time to watch TH-cam. Thank you. 😀👍😍

      @@Divadosaurus Nah, you learn to survive it and that's what makes a good long term relationship. Real relationships are not all roses, are they? It's how you deal with the tricky stuff that makes the difference between a bit of fun and a true partnership. I remember very early in my dating time with my now husband of over a decade, the first time he had to fart, he ran away from the bed, he was so embarrassed to do it in front of the new woman in his life - it was funny. And then one of the first times I had to fart in front of him, right at the beginning of our relationship, I warned him so I could try and move away from him but he pulled me in closer and said "So, just fart." But I later learned he doesn't have much of a sense of smell because of a deviated septum and problems with his sinuses, so that was an easy trick for him to make me feel completely accepted and loved.😂

    What's it like to date in Australia? Shit, in my experience.
    I mean, the dates themselves that I've been on have been okay but rarely does it go any further for me. Because either were looking for different things or the chemistry just wasn't there or something.
    I've hoped to meet women by doing things I enjoy, like hiking, but it doesn't happen. They just don't see me that way. And that's ok.
    It wouldn't occur to me to go into a pub/bar/club and just approach random women, be because they might be like "Who the fuck are you?".
    Apps are shit because I have to put so much time into it to get any interest from women. I've tried speed dating and I didn't mind it but it hasn't really gone anywhere for me.
    The workplace, I would tread carefully.
    If you're a church person, that might make it easier. But I'm just not. My point is that having things in common helps.

      You are both so attractive, but you dont seem like your into each other. You behaved more like just friends or brother and sister.
      The way you could'nt sit far enough away from each other. Or you placed your leggs in between to distance yourself from him.
      And the HI 5!? what couple does that? He didn't even reach out to touch your hand as a sweet jester. I think your conforming to his culture. Im a latina, and this was uncomfortable to watch.

      @pippenlapue9643 Or maybe she is just respecting his culture.. and even appreciating it?
      I mean its a youtube video, and he is not a youtuber, so he's helping her with her channel and maybe not super comfortable in the first place. Aussie men are generally not big on overt public displays of affection with their partners.. i mean its not uncommon at all but its definitely more of a private thing for us in general.
      We also arent very 'theatrical' with love as ive found a lot of latin americans to be, so its a bit of a trade off dating Aussie men.
      On the one hand we're not super intense and pouring on the charm, the touching and emotional all the time, but we're also not doing that with 5 different women at the same time like latino guys! 😂
      Are we a bit emotionally stunted? Yes i think.. but i think we're a lot more genuine / less fake. And im hearing that a lot of latinas who are sick of the player culture and the arrogance of men at home that this is actually becoming very desirable for them..? 🤔

      It's sad that it's becoming so expensive to live in Australia now that men grow up expecting that their women will work through a pregnancy and soon after the birth. The issue is, that's SO HARD for women to achieve that! I know many do it, and some even prefer to bundle their babies off into daycares very early on so they can get back to their careers, and I get that if you are a successful career woman and used to your financial independence, you'd be silly to lose a career I guess. Especially if your man expects you to pay half for everything. But if people recognise that growing, birthing and raising babies is one of life's greatest challenges and you need all the support you can get, especially if you would like a big family, then your pool of partners to choose from will be much smaller in Australia. You'll have to look for people whose family came from a more traditional part of the world , or just look directly at an immigrant from a more traditional part of the world where it's still the norm for the man to work while the woman stays home. That's probably your best hope. It's going to be hard to alter the mindset of a whole generation who doesn't realise they have been conditioned to have as few children as possible. There is a resurgence of this traditionally minded man, and woman, which is good. Are there dating apps for those who are hoping to find a partner who can afford to let them be a stay at home mother, and for the men who WANT a stay at home wife?

      @livingsimplyaustralia  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Glad you enjoyed it :) It was definitely hard getting into the apps, and not something I was used to. But a few friends here in Aus had encouraged me to use them and at the end of the day was not too bad at all. It's actually cool because as we say in the video you can filter by interests, etc. and meet like minded people. In the case of Scott, he had a photo rock climbing (a sport I'm into) and we had our second date at a rock climbing gym lol. But of course you'll come across 'characters' too and sometimes can get tiring. It's a matter of trying and see how you go (you'll have a few fun anecdotes from those dates to tell your friends for sure! haha).

    i really like your channel and your videos have been a great help since i got my PR and decided to move to Melbourne. One question related to the video, what's the ideal timeline to actually meet face to face in Australia? i know in some country people would meet as soon as they have matched and in others, they would chat and get to know each other using the app in built chat. don't know about in australia though. Keep up the hard work and im always looking forward to your upcoming videos. Cheers

    • @livingsimplyaustralia
      @livingsimplyaustralia  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for your comment :) And good question! It depends on the person. But in general, if you get a good vibe after chatting for one day or so, it's best to organise to meet up right away. In my experience, this was the most common approach - instead of wasting time chatting with someone that you may (or may not) have chemistry with when you see them in person.

    These opinions are one sided. Dating in Australia is rough if you are a foreigner guy with conservative values. Australian girls only look for extremely rich and handsome men earning 200k a year. You see more Australian men dating foreign more docile women like this couple. Obviously for latinas dating in Australia is a feast. Is not normal to move together after three months but I guess she did it in her best interest, if you know what I mean.

    As for formality, it depends. For a dinner date, dress up. For a coffee date, you can be casual but don't be too casual. Dont show up wearing a hoody and trackpants.
    First dates should be casual IMO. That way, theres no pressure and it goes badly, then its no big deal. If it goes well then we can do something more formal (like a dinner) for a second date.

    Good video, dating here in Australia, especially Sydney is tough,very tough a lot of vvomen (not all), are very stand offish, and are about as approachable as 7 metre long Great White Shark.

    • @hairgrowthjourney9005
      @hairgrowthjourney9005 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      The very stand offish ones are the ones that are complaining. There's something about Sydney born women, they aren't the same as the rest of Australia, and this is not all of them of course, I've met some amazing Sydney women. However, the types that are complaining that the dating scene in Sydney is 'shit', are the princess/girl boss types, the ones with this weird entitled attitude, and to be fair, some just sound very unpleasant to be around, not only because of their attitude, but because of their voice as well.
      Whereas, people that move here from Europe/Canada/America are probably some of the best girls I've met in Sydney. Always sound and act feminine, always fun to be around with.
      So what's the issue? It's not women themselves, it's the attitude growing up, the entitlement of women in Sydney.
      But, I also agree there are some dodgy guys out there who are also shit.

      I think it is a cultural heritage and most of all, it is important where you live. I mean...if in a big cosmopolitan city or in a tiny village in the countryside with old values (this fits all countries). I know my background, what my family taught me but I've learnt a lot from my personal experiences. So now, in 2024, I may say - as an Italian millenial middle-class girl - than I do not want a man to do anything for me if I do not want it. Including pay my part of the bill if he waits someting from me after it :) Be the more independent you can

      Guys in Australia have no problem paying for dates, drinks at a bar or anything else.. its just recently become almost impolite to the woman youre dating to assume she cant pay for herself. Its actually a bit awkward, and i blame women! 😆
      Id much rather just pay than have that awkward moment when the bill comes.. in fact i often pre-emp the whole situation when i ask a girl out and say its 'my shout' before we even meet. If she doesnt want me to then we sort it out beforehand anyway.

    Dating apps are bs. Sorry guys, I'm an old bloke and I loved growing up in Oz and meeting, talking to, getting to know so many brilliant ladies in my life. I find the reliance on social media crap nowdays to be total b s. Back in the day we used to meet up at the local, because pubs also had the best live music scene. A few drinks, great pub bands and dancing was a real good way to have fun with your date or mate from work. We also quite often got stoned before or a the venue so most pubs were pretty laid back. Nowdays the drugs aren't as good or as clean and theirs too much binge drinking and aggression. The pubs have pokies where the bands used to play. The young generation seems so hung up compared to mine. The way you spend all your time staring at phones, rather than living for the moment is just pathetic imo.

      Imagine how it feels for young women growing up in Australia who dream of meeting a man and one day starting a family (yes, there are still a few of them left) but most of the young men have been conditioned to not only NOT pay for your drinks but expect you to be a "friend with benefits" (sex for free with no commitments) and they happily go along treating each other like that (I'm sure young women use men as much as they can too) until in their late 30s, women hit a brick wall, and men think they have much longer, not realising the quality of their sperm also declines ("Men will generally see a 52% decrease in fertility rate between their early 30s and their mid-to-late 30s.") But by then they have wasted a good part of their lives not starting a family because they want to have fun instead. Australia's economy depends on being able to bring in people from outside to continually grow the population and they know it's easier to bring in skilled immigrants who are ready to work and consuming than to encourage people to raise children here and then have to pay for their schooling and training. So instead they are using social engineering to discourage the local population from having children. Once you see the bigger picture of what is happening here, it's easy to understand people's attitudes when it comes to dating. The sad thing is, people just don't realise what's being done to them and are more than happy to live their young child free lives having a good time, well, in reality, many of them are just struggling and simply cannot afford to start a family... When they end up not having children, they will just be replaced by more immigrants, so it's really up to the individual to think about whether they should make some people for their own families (but of course they are being told that humans are horrible polluting cancers destroying the earth, so you can see how many of them will automatically choose not to have children.) So beware if you are new to Australia and were hoping to meet the partner of your dreams here! You will need to find someone, not only with enough money to afford to start a family, but with the right attitude... And they are not teaching us that here in school...

    Dating apps are like for top 5% of dudes here . I only know 2 guys who do well and their taste has got worse and worse. Dating apps are for them and 80% of women.
    I've picked up women on tinder dates or waiting for their tinder dates.Apps mean nothing. It weirds me out that people are invested in someone they have not met or they don't even know what they smell like.
    The majority of my mates are married to women from overseas that they met overseas.
    Australian men are the way they are because of Australian women. These women fall apart when in Europe or Asia because they can't compete . While Aussie men get snapped up.I've seen it enough for decades.
    Spain for me in June and I can not wait.

      I'm not quite sure whether I understood your point. Do you mean that Austalian women are picky? Why do Australian men not often choose Australian women?

      @@Li-jn2qz After living here for many years I support @ramozj6997 post. Australian women are not fun to date, they are extremely liberal, feminist, bossy, argumentative, they are not affectionate, have a boss girl attitude. They have a ton of simps sending them messages on social media and don't value men. You only have a chance with an Aussie girl if you earn well (working in finances girls love that), are tall, blue eyes, etc. So in that regard I guess you got that right Aussie girls are picky.
      Australian liberal culture tend to put women in a pedestal. Turn on the TV and you'll see all the ads put women in positions of power. Is not uncommon to see women with high salaries doing well in corporate jobs, they don't date lower. Aussie women only will date the top men with high income. And after that the average Australian men that don't earn 200k a year are left with foreign girls like this case.

      @@Li-jn2qzCause Aussie women act like men. Men generally everywhere want feminine women. Most Aussie women aren’t and they seem to act more entitled.
