    There's a lot of 3D scanners out there, and a ton of different prices -- from $1000-$35,000, Shining3D has one of the best lineups we've ever seen -- that's why we carry them here at Vision Miner.
    We don't just sell scanners -- we consult, we demo, we MAKE SURE you're getting the right piece of equipment before you buy -- that's the way we work. That being said, give us a call -- almost anyone who answers the phone will be able to help you out :)
    Einstar: A great scanner for the price -- better than anything else in it's segment, there's not much that holds a light to the ease of use + quality on the Einstar. That being said, it's not quite a professional scanner -- great for hobby projects, but keep reading for the pro scanners.
    Einscan SP: The most basic automated turntable fixed scanner. Tons of small objects? Simple objects? Educational classroom? This is the one for you. Still putting out professional-quality data and details, this is a great start for turntable 3D scanning.
    Einscan Pro HD: the big brother to the SP, the Pro HD is a much more dynamic turntable scanner. Brighter projectors, faster processing, all this means faster and better scanning, even on a lot of dark-colored parts, which would normally just absorb the light. It also adds handheld capabilities -- if 90% of your work is turntable, but you want to occasionally scan something by hand -- this could be the one for you.
    Einscan H2: The H2 is the best for Color, and for people, or organic objects. It's programmed to deal with the slightly movement of faces, limbs, etc, during scanning -- try scanning a face with the HX, and you might get 3 versions of the cheek, and two of the chin, just because the model moved slightly. Not so with the H2 -- scanning people, in full color, has never been easier -- seriously, check out this video! • Einscan H2 - Unboxing ...
    Einscan HX: Lasers. Blue light. Handheld. Shiny objects? Lasers will get that. Dark, glossy objects? Lasers will get that. The HX is the entry-level laser scanner, for objects that you can't spray, coat, or modify -- and it's also more accurate than the structured-light scanners. Large or small objects, the HX does a great job, with lasers and markers, or just with blue structured light. It's a beast.
    Freescan Combo: The Freescan combo took everything great about the HX and H2, and smashed them into a smaller, more compact metal body. The small size lets you get in nooks and crannies where other scanners don't stand a chance -- in addition to 3x laser modes, and the infrared scanning of the H2 (without color), the Freescan Combo literally blew us away with it's speed, ease of use, and ACCURACY -- 0.02mm accuracy. That's metrology grade, inspection-level data -- reverse engineer it, make it, then INSPECT it. The Freescan combo is Rob's current favorite of the lineup.
    Freescan Trio: Need lasers, but can't use markers? The Freescan Trio tracks with 98 laser lines -- without markers. It's the only one in it's class with that ability. It also has photogrammetry modes for HUGE object -- airplanes, boats, cars, in a single shot -- if you're scanning BIG objects, and/or don't want to use laser markers, but need lasers -- the Trio is the one for you.

    I bought an H2 (around 5,000$) from vision miner and I have to say, their customer service has been a pleasure to work with. They really are friendly and help trouble shoot every time I have called them.

    Hi, thanks for your videos. Very helpful! - At the moment we are working with a kinect azure but it's just not precise enough. Do you have a recommendation of what to buy when upgrading? - We'd be interested to include the new device in our real-time scan workflow in Rhino Grasshopper. So a solution that can scan upwards from 15 fps and is compatible with plug-ins etc. We usually use it on a tripod and just scan one perspective. Ideally of course multiple devices from different angles could be connected.... and then again the budget....
    If you have any ideas or hints, that would be much appreciated.

    Great video! Does the texture quality from the HX using the rapid scan comes close to the H2? When to expect the HX2 coming around the corner?

      @VisionMiner  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Better than the H2, with the lasers -- you can get a lot more detail! No HX2 expected date, at this point -- they're focusing on the freescans, but maybe we'll see something EOY 24 or sometime in 2025, hard to say!

    3D scanners have come a long way in a short amount of time relative to a lot of tech devices. It wasn't that long ago that you needed a dedicated studio environment to get a decent scan, and you still needed A Ton of digital finessing to get a usable model out of them. Einscan makes dynamite tools and would be the company I'd go after if I had a use case where I would need them more often than borrowing a bud's tools once every few months. Now that portable scanners are seriously capable, I've been looking at them more often just to have one in the toolbox. 👍

    Does the HX also capture color as good as or better than the H2?
    Or is it H2 = Best Color, Average Accuracy and HX = Best Accuracy, Average / No Color?

      @@VisionMiner I understand, I posted my comment after checking the prices, the fact of the matter is the prices are ridiculous. You can literally buy a new car for what some of them cost. Nuts, and the ones that are affordable (under $1500) appear to be crap that's barely better than using your smartphone.

      With any price point system don't forget to add up a good PC system, which can go easily 2K$ and more depending how fast and easy you want to capture and edit the surfaces/do the 3D CAD models

    • @VisionMiner
      @VisionMiner  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ohhhh, I see, yes, you were surprised by the price, that makes sense!
      And yeah -- these aren't consumer items. They're for businesses using them to MAKE money -- which means the cost is very reasonable for the people who actually do buy them. But definitely not just for fun, or hobbiests, LOL. When you can MAKE money with a tool, it makes sense (cents? Dollars!) :)

    • @VisionMiner
      @VisionMiner  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yep! Even gaming laptops, from $1000-2000, generally get the job done really well, if you don't already have a decent PC. You definitely don't need a supercomputer.

    Don't buy any more 3D scanners. There is a new AI/NERF-based technology that creates 3D models with a 0.5-micron resolution using a smartphone almost instantly. It is far superior to handheld scanners.

    • @astroimagers
      @astroimagers 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      You watched Neuralangelo too huh? Niice. Amazing technology.
      Still I don't think a smartphone can do metrology type scanning though. For example, scanning a part to compare to the CAD drawing or measure specs to 20-microns or replace CMM style inspections etc. Also those NeRF apps usually upload the scan to the cloud for processing. I doubt proprietary or gov agencies would allow that. Still very cool.

    • @VisionMiner
      @VisionMiner  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +15

      0.5 Micron? You must mean 0.5mm -- half a micron is electron-microscope level. Regardless, AI generated geometry is not actual geometry -- I highly doubt that will work for a machine shop. Great, awesome technology, for sure -- but definitely not applicable to what we do here at Vision Miner, in regards to inspection and manufacturing -- apples to oranges :)
      REALLY cool stuff though, can't wait to scan some buildings with video capture!
