- Patrick Warburton tries his hand at improvising the voices of 9 random cartoon characters that he has never seen before. Using the same techniques he used for Joe Swanson (Family Guy) and Kronk (The Emperor’s New Groove), Patrick brings these characters to life.
Family Guys returns Sunday, Sept 29th only on FOX.

Patrick Warburton (Joe Swanson) Improvises 9 New Cartoon Voices | Vanity Fair
Thank you Vanity Fair for giving attention to voice actors.
The troll is the best
I love how they give attention to a lot of under appreciated people, like voice actors and stuntmen
👏🏻👏🏻
Jose Cuervo
They should bring in Tara Strong next.
Patrick Warburton as a snail made my life worth living
Someone needs to make that movie happen

I love how he admits that all his characters sound the same.
Almost all the characters he voices have a mighty chin
Too bad he didn't voiced Crimson Chin
@@joshuamanjarrez6321 ikr
These nuts were all over those mighty chins.
@SpokenTurtleBack its because his voice is very bassy and manly
What about volibear
All of his characters sound like Joe in different timelines
If you close your eyes and just listen, this is 100% accurate
Buzz Lightyear* in different timelines.
Brock Samson *

His voice is so deep that when he does a high voice it cracks deep.

😂
Does he have a lot of range? No
But does he _need_ a lot of range? Also no.
this also reads well in his voice.
Exactly. He’s one of those actors who does one thing SO WELL that he doesn’t need much else to do because he’s so marketable for that ONE THING.
And you know range can be such a wide array things in voice acting too! It can be your pacing, tone, diction, etc. so it becomes almost more about the delivery than it does just the pitch of the va :)
He's like the anti-McFarlane.
Not everyone needs to be Billy West. His voice is cool and fun and that is good enough sometimes.
Him as a snail is basically asmr
So true haha
*_"...i'm gonna ruin your garden..."_*
Lethargic snail ruins your garden (ASMR Roleplay)
Yess
"ill sound like all the other characters I do" - The most diverse voice actor himself 😂
Wait I’m confused? Isn’t he demonstrating the opposite of what diversity is ??
@@MJsGuardAngel that's the joke
He and Kevin Conroy are 1 trick ponies for sure.. but that's okay because the voice they do have.. is awesome.
@@shadowproductions969 but unlike Patrick who just does his own voice over and over with minimal changes Kevin basically just voices the same character aka batman and his voice is iconic as the bat like mark Hamill as the joker or David hayter as snake in metal gear.
Patrick wharburton is such an interesting voice actor
Instead of having a voice for every character, he has one voice that he uses for every character.
But for some reason it works
Like he can be kronk, and you hear him and know its kronk
But then he can be joe, and you hear him and know its joe.
*Even though it's the same voice*
Easiest game of “I know that voice” ever.
It's acting
Like archers voice as bobs burgers

When Pat rejected his own audition for the duck, I cracked up.
Lol

I can’t wait to hear Joe Swanson 9 different times
Did you enjoy hearing Joe Swanson 9 different times.
Symbiote God yes
Characters in order of their appearance:
1. Octopus Joe
2. Snail Joe
3. Duck Joe
4. Douchebag CEO Joe
5. Buffalo Joe
6. Orc Joe
7. Corporate Joes
8. Pig Joe
9. Fedora Joe/1940s Cop Joe
Don't forget Joe Mama

Boris De La Torre who’s joe?
I would put Octopus Joe as Joe going through puberty.
All of the characters sound like Joe Swanson trying to "improvise" other cartoon voices.
Dave Teves 😂😂
Dave Teves because......... that’s what it is
@@RollingxBigshot that's the joke
No it sounds like David puddy, impersonating Joe doing impressions of other characters.
"Hey 🅱eter, watch me do a snail!"
Patrick Warburton being Patrick Warburton for 10 minutes
And we dont have a problem with that
His voice is pure Pat, but his face is trying to turn him into Brendan Fraser
@@bluetaigax1747This!!! 😅
"They'll probably sound like the rest of my characters" even he knows and I live it
Props for acknowledging all of his characters sound the same.
One of the reasons I also like Jon Benjamin
I like him he did Family Guy before Archer and Bob’s Burgers
Proves you don't always need range to be a great voice actor.
Jon Benjamin reuses one voice often, that's his sidearm. but he has a ton more in his back pocket. A lot of people don't even know he was Jason, they were so focused on McGuirk. Bob's Burgers gives him the most chances to show that range, with Miss LaBonz, Jimmy Jr, Peter Pescadero... like yeah Speedo Guy sounds like Bob, and Peter sounds like a high-pitched Bob, but it still counts as a range.
And like, his original Kuchi Kopi voice was clearly meant to sound like Bob talking to himself, but in Louise's fever dream, he sounded pretty distinct. Almost went in a Strong Sad direction.
This is the episode of Family Guy where Joe goes to a family reunion. Just different Joe's everywhere.
It would be funny if that was an actual episode and they were all in wheelchairs.
Props to the greedy business man, the different range and reading into it was great
I think he offered some interesting variety, despite his caveats to the contrary. Plus he really looked at and thought about the characters. The last pic is really fully in his wheelhouse when I think of his voice. He could do a very good dated tough guy or pulp fiction detective. Gosh, I would scream with joy if he and John Mulaney did some Hammett or Chandler. Can you imagine???!!! Bliss.
Omg I could really see Kronks face while he was talkingggggg
I actually really respect that he's honest in acknowledging the fact that his characters don't have a lot of range in terms of vocal differences. I do love the characters that he voices though because he has a great voice for the characters he portrays. (The business man and the troll were fantastic though)
Joe isn't Joe if he doesn't mention that he's a cop
@@ladyblazette oh the best!
Hey 🅱️eter I'm a C🅾️🅿️

Not worth it. The novelty will definitely ware off.
Yes! We need that.
Sergio Alcantara If it does happen, I can guarantee in a month (or maybe even a week) the novelty will ware off.
wear* Jesus Christ.
ok
1:39 is the Patrick Warburton ASMR I've always wanted
i clicked on this video knowing that i was gonna hear the same voice throughout lmao
The ASMR snail was very clean
“That really mean elk... i think it was an elk”
*Shows Picture of what is clearly not an elk*
That's obviously a Caribou
Reindeer
I love him but they all sound like Joe to me 😂
The troll voice deviated quite a bit.
Respect for the effort, I was actually impressed! Would have been funnier though if he just did Joe's voice 10 times, and made like it was a great fit for each.
“Come on, put em up, what are ya yella ARE YA YELLA”.
“...no I’m yellow”
😂
Joe Swanson himself is good at impressions
"Hey lois it's stewie,the baby"
*"HeLlO sTeWiE"*
Ahaha, this is actually brilliant! I like how range is being tested, but Patrick Warburton's characters are more iconic because of (and more differentiated by) mannerism than by voice. Most people sound the same doing Kronk vs Joe, but I feel like you could immediately identify who Patrick's actually performing based entirely on where the character's brain is.
All i hear is Just JOE FREAKING SWANSON 🤣
He's really good at giving characters their own personality despite what people may say about his vocal range.
He could literally just talk for all these voices and it’d fit
"they'll probably sound like all the other voices I do" lol
Is that you mister Krabs? 5:53
Glad I wasn't the only one.
Sorry, but I didn’t hear Mr. Krabs at all.
@@Nicky_NickGaming Play it at 2x speed, that should help friend.
James Docherty I tried it and I still couldn’t hear Mr. Krabs. Maybe it’s because I don’t watch the newer episodes of Spongebob, which in my opinion aren’t really that good. I’ve tried to watch some of them and they were just dreadful. Spongebob was fine the way it was.
@@Nicky_NickGaming Agreed, I used to watch it religously when I was younger, but now I don't even know what season it's on.
what IS funny is that it's the same voice he uses on all his characters, with either a high pitch or low pitch 😂😂😂😭😂
I seriously love this man's voice lol it's so deep it shouldn't be comical but he pulls it off really well
The snail is honestly my favourite. He fleshed it out just enough to be an actual supporting character you could've seen in Turbo.
The businessman and ogre were very distinctive. I like those two.
True!
Pre watch prediction: they’re all gonna be his Joe voice
The magic of this man is not in his vocal range, but in his ability to augment his one voice to nearly any occasion. He truely is a gift to cinema.
"They'll probably sound like all the other characters I do"
Exactly what we both expected.
This is the only voice actor than I HOPE sounds the same every time I hear any new character does
Like I’ve said before, he doesn’t need range because his comedic timing is ON POINT!
I love how he knows most his characters sound the same but just runs with it lol
I absolutely NEED a movie with the main character being a snail voiced by Patrick Warburton
The way he said "I'm just enjoying a little bit of this lettuce" 🤣🤣
"As we all know, I'm not a chameleon" -Yeah, man, but you do what you do better than anyone.
Strangely I think more of him as Lemony Snickett than any of his voice acting roles.
David P. He did amazing job with this series, i was satisfied with the ending and it was a fun ride
Theres just some unique voices out there, that i dont mind hearing hearing the same voice in different characters 😂
Vanity Fair: Patrick Warburton improvises 5 new cartoon voices
Also Vanity Fair: *_puts Joe Swanson in thumbnail_*
The man in the suit and tie looks like the human version of Montgomery Burns.
Burns IS a human.
So great!!! I love him!! I was an artist at Walt Disney studios when Empoerer’s New Groove was in production.
7:36 almost sounds like Patrick Star
I see you EVERYWHERE! STOP FOLLOWING ME!!
He’s a voice actor that can get away with having similar sounding voices
Kronk is the man haha.
Patrick Warburton snail is my reason for livin
Again, Charles Martinet would be gold here.
This was still interesting to watch because Patrick's characters may have similar voices, but have different emotions, mannerisms, and tone! I think he just focuses more on acting the characters rather than varying their voices.
He has that soothing kind of voice 😊
This man is awesome 😁
This was perfect!! Love this guy.. the process was just on point..
I'm well versed in all woodland creatures.....squeaky squeak squeakers
I like how Patrick is self aware that all his characters sound the same.
Patrick Warburton sent me soarin' over California a couple times. Fun times.
Doesn’t change his voice at all just makes it a little deeper or relaxed.
I love it.
its really David Puddy as Joe Swanson, improvising new voices
yeah thats right
Patrick warburton has no range at all but he does have something no one else has... Patrick warburtons voice
All his characters sound like Joe, but I ain't even mad. He has the voice of a god.
Patrick is trying so hard to have a different range but he knows that all of his characters sound the same. XD
JOE PLEASE STOP YOUR CHILDREN MISS YOU
Happy to see him get some even more love. People LOVE the characters he voices but rarely talk about the man behind em.
Sometimes you just have a voice you don't really need to change much.
I love how Warburton barely ever changes. It's one of my favorite things about him.
The snail was spot on!!
I like that he’s very aware all his characters sound the same lol. Still good though!
I want his snail voice to talk me to sleep. No more insomnia 😂😂😂
If they have a strong jaw, this man will voice them...
Exactly
Patrick Warburton's Mickey Mouse impression is spot on. ;)
The snail sounds like an impression of Jim Gaffigan
Nobody:
Captain America: 2:07
ALL THE VOICES ARE JOE! Lmao yet this was amazing and I’d watch it 5 times again 😩😂
they all sound like a horrifyingly visceral version of Joe Swanson
All that I could think the entire time was Lemony Snicket
This man the OG❗️👏🏼
Patrick Warburton probably has one of the most iconic cartoon voices of all time
Patrick Warburton ASMR: Snail edition
He does a lot of the same voices but he does it perfectly. A completely unique voice you recognize anywhere
Did they really disrespect him by putting (Joe Swanson) in the title?
I'm really loving these so far
The first time I ever heard his voice was through a video game called tak and the power of juju he voiced a character called lok
its the subtle characteristics/patterns/mannerism, how he says the words that make it good... specially with the snail, buffalo or orc thing
Patrick Warburton,you mean Brock Samson.
the only guy besides invader zim who im okay using the same voice for every character XD
The Tick!
You can hear when they switch between his lapel mic and the studio mic XD
It's amazing how he talks about the unique characterization and technique he use for every single character and yet they all have the same voice
Hear me out:
