Actors are many times jaded by other people outside of their industry. Especially A listers. it is because their careers get rid of all the newness of acting over time. Tom probably never met a voice actor before, or at least not a serious one. He is probably back in his childhood again. Something in his heart has been sparked back to life.

I absolutely love this guy I watch FG and AD everyday!!! The main cast does multiple voices for the characters in there show and it’s amazing how he can change his voice for over six different characters in two different shows. It’s gonna crush me when he makes his final season one day.

Yeah but it's a lot easier to remember a voice if you pick one that you already know. Making up a new voice on the spot, without it sounding remotely like someone you have heard before, is very, very difficult. I've not voiced characters for shows before, but I cosplay, so that requires you to (slightly) imitate voices sometimes. When it comes to voices (because I sometimes entertain people with imitations or non-existing folk) I have segregated groups of certain people that I know. And that are either posh and arrogant, flatspeaking and rude or shy and insecure or provocative and vocal. (former classmate)Kelly and (mentor) Cora are both flatspeaking and rude. I use the voice of former classmate Claudia when it needs to be posh and arrogant. Shy an insecure is mentor Eline, classmate Ike and a girl a former craftingclass that had a speech-impediment and would whisper. Acquintances Ben and Luke and neighbour Thomas are rude and loud. It makes it all so much easier to have (multiple versions of) similar voices nearby to imitate if you need them. I would come up with really weird squeeky voices if I had to "make one up" that was in no way similar to anyone I know.

Long ago, Dream Factory granted my son his wish to be on the set of Family Guy! An artist made a cartoon version of him to possibly be in the show at some point. We sat in on a reading. I absolutely love this guy I watch FG and AD everyday!!! The main cast does multiple voices for the characters in there show and it’s amazing how he can change his voice for over six different characters in two different shows. It’s gonna crush me when he makes his final season one day.

1:42 say what you will, but the story of how he came up with the voice of quagmire is actually great because it shows that he doesn’t just randomly make up a voice on the spot. There’s actually some thought that goes into it
Yeah but it's a lot easier to remember a voice if you pick one that you already know. Making up a new voice on the spot, without it sounding remotely like someone you have heard before, is very, very difficult.
I've not voiced characters for shows before, but I cosplay, so that requires you to (slightly) imitate voices sometimes.
When it comes to voices (because I sometimes entertain people with imitations or non-existing folk) I have segregated groups of certain people that I know.
And that are either posh and arrogant, flatspeaking and rude or shy and insecure or provocative and vocal. (former classmate)Kelly and (mentor) Cora are both flatspeaking and rude.
I use the voice of former classmate Claudia when it needs to be posh and arrogant. Shy an insecure is mentor Eline, classmate Ike and a girl a former craftingclass that had a speech-impediment and would whisper. Acquintances Ben and Luke and neighbour Thomas are rude and loud.
It makes it all so much easier to have (multiple versions of) similar voices nearby to imitate if you need them. I would come up with really weird squeeky voices if I had to "make one up" that was in no way similar to anyone I know.

Tom Cruise is definitely no.1 there, and emily and charlize are probably some of the biggest hitters as well. Which is why Graham's show is so good because he can mix and match up all kinds of people on the couch and just get them all to shine equally.

Long ago, Dream Factory granted my son his wish to be on the set of Family Guy! An artist made a cartoon version of him to possibly be in the show at some point. We sat in on a reading. Seth wasn’t there that day. I now see why my son was so captivated by him! We had a great time and are all very thankful for the experience!
