Puddy was only in 6 episodes. "That's right". Hard to believe that a character can be so memorable and have such a lasting impression. He had some of the best lines.
It didn't change anything during the show and that is why it is such a classic. Most shows get stale after a few seasons and then make big changes which makes them even worse..
Because of the secondary characters - the main cast SUCKED. Puddy, Newman, Peterman, Babu, Jerry and George's parents, Mickey, Steinbrenner, Jackie Childs - they rocked ! The one time characters - Soup Nazi, Library Cop, Mandelbaum (2x), Bubble Boy - were absolutely brilliant ...
I loved him in his show "Rules for Engagement" which should have lasted longer. I watch the repeats when I can't sleep. I love that persona that he does. Very unique. Hope to see him in another show or movies.
I loved him in the 2001 The Tick ! a very David Puddy like charter. I loved watching Seinfeld when it was on air back in the nineties, but now all I can here when watching Patrick as David Puddy is Joe Swanson from Family Guy!
@@vinyllpreviews9462 They could have had so many spinoffs. As much as I hated Elaine I would have loved to see a spinoff where she was married to Puddy and still worked for Peterman ( the greatest character ever )
I fell in love with "Puddy" ! I dated a guy just like him , saved tons of money getting my car worked on ! I even named my new kitten Puddy . Miss that show.
Me and the wife was in Harrisburg PA at a radio party. We didn't even see the ending of the show from the drinking we where all doing... good times. hehe
He did a great job as Puddy. The contrast between Puddy's idiocy and other characteristics - extremely handsome, built, amazing voice, and his delivery of lines that was so calm and confident - was fantastic. When he spoke as if he was saying, "The purpose of life is..." and yet his actual line was something completely freaky and moronic, that was hilarious. After Puddy, I never forgot that voice. And he really does have a wonderful speaking voice. Very rich and smooth and manly. Still cute after 20 years.
Great interview. Like that he says nice stuff about Kramer as his favourite character. Richards should be recognised as a physical comedy genius in this show.
Let me say this: Patrick created Puddy. The cadence and delivery of his lines were expressly his own. This is the mark of a great character actor and comedian. He brought so much to the show.
Loved him on seinfeld. Alwyas laughed and I seen his episodes over and over. We recently watched THE BEE MOVIE and he voiced a part in that one. My daughter pointed it out to me, and I was like YES thats PUDDY!
the best scenes I like when they were in the plane , he cried , then he made out with the girl sit next to him then they back together (him and Elaine) , then she go "you want to sleep" , he go "Neah" , do you want to read , neah :) still staring to the back of the seat , this scene makes me fall of laughing
@@alsemany Then you are in for a treat! Every season has 15-20 minutes of bloopers and they are just as funny as the show itself. :) Especially Julia Louis Dreyfuss (Elaine) is hilarious as she often breaks character by bursting out laughing in an adorable way.
Seinfeld is possibly unique among most shows in that even in the last 2 or 3 seasons, when it was considered past its peak, there were still a lot of awesome characters and episodes. Maybe more of the plots became entirely ridiculous--but it was still great tv, very entertaining. Just an all-time classic.
Puddy always struck me as the frat bro devoid of a personality but totally into his sports. His looks and lax attitude is precisely what made the Elaine character chase after him so much.. I’m glad he didn’t go for the stereotypical New York mechanic type! great call Patrick!
I still put old episodes I've seen time and time again and I laugh as if were the first time I'm seeing it. This Putty character is probably the most hilarious.
My favorite Elaine Puddy sequence is the backslide, where Jerry is betting Elaine that she won't get back together with him. Double or nothing, book it, witness!

He has such a great voice and still looks great after all these years. They should of developed a spin off show as I would of watched it. Call it “Puddy”

Him and Peterman
Puddy was only in 6 episodes. "That's right". Hard to believe that a character can be so memorable and have such a lasting impression. He had some of the best lines.
What? Only 6??? :O
Wikipedia says he was in 11 episodes
Puddy sitting there just staring is the funniest thing he did.
In MIB 2 too... hilarious...
agreed
and then adjusting his jeans! What was that about? He is a taller Fonz!
kronk!
I do that all the time on airplanes. My girlfriend loves that episode and loves it when my inner Puddy comes out.
Every scene with Puddy is gold! 😁
He will ALWAYS be Puddy to me. ALWAYS. His " Talk to me, baby." Still makes me laugh. Everything about Puddy still makes me laugh.

Warburton and O'Hurley...2 of the greatest all time voices.
Absolutely! Still hear O'Hurley do voice overs in commercials.
Feels like an Arby's night.
Lol
Arby’s should have him in every promo
Seeing Patrick Warburton now from his younger days, makes me realize he would have been perfect to play Superman.
Maybe Puddy was Superman
He did play play another blue suited superhero, The Tick lol
He played Superman in the Seinfeld and Superman ads
"Ehh, high-five, Lois."
No Superman, He is the Tick. But i think he would be awesome as Cap Marvel(Shazam)
