  • This lure is a bit of an experiment in 3D paint. My vision was to paint a lure from the inside out.

I get a lot of questions about where I get materials, paints and accessories for these projects. I try to find the best deals on Amazon and I share them in my Amazon store. Follow this link to check it out: www.amazon.com/shop/engineeredanglerlures

Just wanted to share something with you, I really enjoy your channel and the info you give us. I live in Fla. and now I'm 63 yrs.old my father was a avid salt and fresh water fisherman and in the early 60s started using a injection molding machine to make clear 2 part fishing lures which he would mold from live fish i.e. Pinfish and other Baitfish. the 2 sided body's were clear and he would put different insert's in i.e. silver foil and sometimes glitter and glue the body's together and then add the line tie and hook hardware. I always felt that he was way ahead of his time because i'm not even sure if Mirrolure was doing that at that time. Sadly because of having children and having to raise a family he was never able to expand on what he was doing or even market it. Remember at that time almost all lures were made of wood. He also dabbled in make plastic worms but the plastic at that time was not that soft but he still made some. I still wonder to this day what would have happened if he had the financial resources to continue and expand. It brings to mind the old saying that everything that is old is new again. Thanks for letting me share.

We came through the storm with only minor tree damage and a day fiddling with a grumpy generator but the power is back now. Thank you all for the concern and good wishes. When I started the channel I didn't realize how nice it would be to have a community around my little hobby.

Glad you came out the other side of Ian as good as you did!
Now it's our turn! Where I'm located is northwest of where the eye is making landfall, and we're seeing winds, rain, and storm surge, but not as bad as our neighbors to our south!
Prayers for anyone, and everyone, in Ian's path!

Wow! Really cool! I would not have thought to stack plexiglas like that. Figured it would have been multiple pours of clear epoxy painting them as they cured or similar to an offshore skirt where you use some holographic sticker covering a piece of metal and pour clear epoxy around that. Nice work!! May have to try this instead of shelling out $12 for every mirrolure!

    • @BOSN_BAITS

I agree with you but now I kinda want to see that. Pour epoxy layers colored with alcohol inks then airbrush fine details. Glue it all together see how it comes out.

Good video! In the early 80s our neighbor had a business making line through poppers, needles, chuggers out of plexi (pmma) he made fish tanks for sea world in san diego and would have these giant scrap pieces delivered in his driveway. he would cut blocks on my dads bandsaw and turn them on his lathe. We still have some chunks from him. Always wanted to make lures with it.. thanks man for the video. Hope you stay safe from that storm... best of luck bro.
