- Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi is returning to the polls as he bids to extend his presidency by a third term.
The face may be the same, but the circumstances are different as Egyptians head to cast their ballots on December 10.
The economy is in a tailspin, held up by support from foreign partners worried about Egypt’s slide setting off regional destabilisation not seen since 2011, including new migration flows to Europe and beyond.
Al Jazeera’s Resul Serdar reports.

How does he have a heart of gold ? How did he handle the Gaza war? The statement he made in isreal was to have the Palestinians go into the negev desert and stay there until after the war. I am from Asia concerned about seeing Egyptian and jordan leaders, who are cowards, leaders who allow their neighbors to be persecuted, whether because of past trauma. but don't look like a coward. but perhaps that is a reflection of the people themselves.
