    I just bought these 3 days ago... they are fantastic!! I've literally gotten kills in Blackout from people I couldn't see, I just shot where I heard the footsteps!! I do play PS4 in my livingroom, so currently I'm putting a chair up in the middle so I can play (everyone is usually in bed when I get to game - so not a big deal), but I'm looking to purchase longer cords on amazon so I can start sitting on my couch again. But seriously, even if I had to do all my future gaming from the chair, it would be worth it! These sound amazing. Got them for $199 this week at Best Buy.

Also you can listen to music or use discord on your phone via bluetooth while using the 2.4 ghz wireless for gaming.

    Wife bought me these for Fathers Day Gift and I am just a person who likes sound but can never really tell if something is better or worse if its close. I will say I came from a simple Logitech Headset to these and the sounds are incredible. I am currently playing Assasian Creed Syndicate again for the 4th time and I must say when you are running down the street you can hear every little detail. The other day I heard someone sawing a piece of wood. Now to most people you might say big deal but I have to say it really makes you feel like your living inside the virtual world and that it is realistic.

    Awesome review, thank you. Just started using them with the gameDAC. Honestly, I´ve been through a lot of headsets and this is the best ones by far. The build of them gives you a feeling that they won´t break any time soon. Thanks again for a great review.

    Ive been using my Astro TR for a while mainly for their versatility since they do have an mp3 port for anything I own. The mic sounded amazing and was the least nasally sounding mic ive heard in a while. Really going to try and pick these up if theyre on sale later to save some cash. I agree with the strap and longer/sturdier cord I was worried about the size of this headset but you wearing them gives guarantees they'll fit my head too. (having a big head sucks sometimes)

    I've had the Arctis 5 and Pro. They have great mic sound, and decent sound quality... That being said, just know right now that comes at a price. And that price is NO bass. These have practically no low end. All the Logitech Gxxx series headphones I have owned have MUCH better bass. I buy the Steelseries because of the toughness of the headband. I break headbands. I have yet to break a Steelseries headband. All my Logitechs broke their headbands at the pivot.

    • @ironman98
      @ironman98 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good info to know. One year later, how has it held up? What is your opinion? Also, couldn't you just adjust the bass in the game dac? How much of a difference does that make? Also if you're on your computer, most mobos have audio Control software where you can adjust the sound. So I assume you could add even more bass through that?

    • @NIGHTSHADE31401
      @NIGHTSHADE31401 ปีที่แล้ว

      They have a shit ton of bass BUT you have to crank it up through a console/mixer. If you don't have a mixer or 3rd party software it's really flat. You can't really just plug and play these and they should really be marketed as PC only.

    • @NorthernChev
      @NorthernChev ปีที่แล้ว

      @@NIGHTSHADE31401 I've had no luck with the Steelseries software mixer adding any bass at all. The software that comes with them is crap as far as "mixing" goes.

    • @NorthernChev
      @NorthernChev ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ironman98 Both sets of Steelseries I've owned (Arctis 5 and Pro) eventually developed a glitch in one of the ears where you would have to hold them in a certain way to get the earpiece to play sound. It was if there was a short or loose wire inside. Both sets of Steelseries headphones failed in the exact same way eventually.
      I tore the Arctis apart, thinking I could just fix whatever the problem was. But they don't come apart nicely at all. And once inside I could find nothing that would have caused the problem. So, I had to throw them both away. I went back to buying Logitech headsets again, which I wasn't happy about at all, due to their propensity to break headbands.

      Overall these are an awesome combination of great sound and features. 3D sound processing is great for movies with surround audio but are weaker for gaming. Honestly I think it’s the dated games I play versus the newer AAA titles.
      I can’t even explain the difference to MY ears when playing back true hi resolution audio. It’s almost like the audio is smoother and less digitized with more details to be heard.

    Jason, what do you pass your ModMic Wireless through? I ask because I have the ModMic 5. I originally passed it though my motherboards onboard input which sounded a lot like what your wireless version sounded in the video. Bought a $10 USB pass-through which corrected for power filtering issues which motherboards are notoriously known for. My ear, they sound full and smoother than the Arctis. Now I do pair the ModMic 5 with a Beyerdynamic T1/Schiit Jotunheim so when it comes to value, the Arctis appeals to most. Great video comparison and review. Your style is my preference.

    I got mine 2 months ago and I swear the sound is amazing and ppl in discord kept asking what kind of mic you’re using and they shocked that I’m using a headset microphone it is crystal clear and I recommend buying it. I’m using the Artics Pro + GameDac and one more thing if you bought this turn the DTS 2.0V OFF mark my word you would enjoy it and for the Equalizer preset put it on SMILY. 👍🏼

      I think the Dolby v2 depends on te games. In mechwarrior online it muddles the low freq range. So it’s better off. Other games I have do take advantage and sound pretty decent and smiley with the low range reduced somewhat is great!
