Buy a pre-Obama Class A. My dad just gave us his 2002 Georgie-Boy Landau 2950 DS. The quality of the cabinetry, fit and finish would not look out of place in a Prevost, just not as fancy. All thick, solid wood. With the 8.1 l 30' Workhorse chassis it's a maneuverable hot-rod that will be welcomed (and I can park) practically anywhere. We are modernizing it for about 10 grand (4 camera DVR/blind spot system, 2nd air conditioner, battery system so I can run the microwave, etc. without shore power or running the generator). You can probably get a nice one for 25-35K. The new stuff is made of toilet paper and broken promises.

Bish's RV in Idaho Falls, Idah have been absolutely rocks stars for me. I have purchased two RVs from them, and they have been very quick and fair for any repairs I've needed done. They have stepped up on anything that was wrong from the manufacturer and have been very fair on repairs caused by my mistakes. I would totally recommend them. I was in there one day asking about some upgrades I wanted to make when a family came in from Georgia that had some problems with their RV. Idaho Falls is within 100 miles of Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks so there are a lot of tourists from all over the country in the summer coming to that area. Anyway, this family had some problems that needed a professional fix. Most RV dealers will only fix Rv's they have sold; not them, even though they were busy, Bish's asked a few questions, got them in for repairs within an hour and had them on their way the same day. Thats the type of dealer I want to buy from. I always advocate, don't just look at the RV brand and/or floor plan but make sure you have a good dealer. No matter the RV brand you buy, they all have problems and breakdowns. A good dealer will make all the difference in the world on your RV experience after the sale.

As far s I am concerned, even though Thor showed up to fix the issues, it is too little too late. If you have to go through hell and get a video done by another TH-camr with a huge following to get things fixed it speaks very badly for Thor. I would never buy anything manufactured by Thor.

@@Millard-vo3ds it’s extremely common for people to sell their problems. Be at a car, boat, house or RV. Buyer beware. However, in Jim‘s case it was all fixed as far as he knew. He just didn’t want the aggravation.
I have a Cyclone with same issues with the gray tank leaking into the belly within about 6 months. I was not traveling as extensively. Mine was a 2020 built pre-covid. I had about 75 issues in which the dealer LaMesa RV pretended to fix but never did. Had my rig for 8 months. Looooong story but scummy dealers with scummy manufacturers = bad product. The dealers and manufacturers use reputation management companies to bury bad reviews. I mean bury them deeply, even if you do extensive research, you have to dig deep into forums too and then get buried there too. I have met 3 Cyclone owners on my travels, all have stories to tell.
I am becoming a fan of buying used from the early to mid 2000. I am seeing some really good prices out there for some really nice coaches. I will get a inspection of course.
Get the fluids checked. Learned that tip from the RV Inspection and Care podcast/TH-cam channel. I've listened to all episodes at least once. Also check out Rigor RV Repair. He did undercover inspections of New RVs as well as tips for Buyer Used RVs.
Our old american eagle is a champ, the 8.3 cumins and Allison trans are rock solid, just returned from a two and a half month 4500 mile trip south, only real problems were the hot water quit working on 110 and the rear camera acted up, fixed the camera with a 25 cent connector and the hot water tank needed a new 120 volt sensor.
I was driving my cousins Holiday Rambler class A motor home years ago when I hit a good size bump in the road and the old heavy tube style TV came flying out of the cabinet above my head and rolled down the hall. Only held in with a few screws in to the wood. So older isn't always better either.
Liz, I think you have hit gold with this series. The stories are very interesting and people deserve to have their stories shared, as well as the fact that they can be warnings to others. Thank you for giving a voice to these owners.
You are so welcome. I am so glad you are enjoying this series. I think the possibilities are endless with interviews of various players in the industry. Thanks for your support and stay tuned.
I came upon these videos while exploring ideas about my upcoming retirement. RVs are off the list now. Thank you for sharing this information. Good luck.
Thank you Liz for helping the rv community. Without your help so many of us would not be able to get any help from dealers/manufacturers. Thanks for what you do.
You are so welcome, Richard. Thanks for being here. It feels good to be appreciated. See you Friday for the next video (I'm taking tomorrow off). Happy New Year!
Jim made the right decision. I couldn’t trust that RV either so good for him! I’m glad things worked out with the first couple but geez! The expense and frustration! Like the gentleman said, if you hadn’t gotten involved with your You Tube channel, who knows if they would ever have it fixed to their satisfaction? And yet, he too doesn’t trust that the RV was properly constructed. That’s a cost you can’t put a price on. Thanks for sharing Liz. Best wishes!🍀🙋🏻♀️
Hi Theresa! Thanks for your comment. I felt bad for everything Jim went through but I agree the best decision was to get rid of it. Best wishes to you as well!
@@LizAmazing Great job Liz. your videos with these owners & their camper issues are phenomenal & making a massive difference for them in getting the proper service. Im so proud of you. YOU ARE A GREAT IRISH FIGHTER!! 👏🇮🇪☘☘☘ These motor home owners did a wonderful job with their portion of the video. Very professional.
Am I the only person who is concerned that the dealer Jim traded the RV to will just put lipstick on a pig and resell it to some other unsuspecting person?
Thanks Liz. Regardless of the positive outcome, being left with the uncertainty of future issues, as a senior I am completely deterred from celebrating the RV life. My constitution simply could not deal with this level of stress. Others may be able to. We will travel via other mediums and enjoy our senior years accordingly. Txs again!
It's good that you are taking your time to think things through, Alex. Not a good time to buy new, but trailers and fifth wheels built in 2019 and before tend to be well-built. The motorhome sweet spot is 2002 to 2008. Whatever you buy, join the Facebook group of the model to get the scoop from owners. And always get an inspection. Another advantage of buying used is the seller has typically gotten the kinks out. Thanks for watching.
@@LizAmazing. I love your channel. Watching always, regardless of my decision to RV or not. You do a service to all of us who are wanting to RV full time❣️
You really are amazing. What we need is a comprehensive video - perhaps half an hour or more - for each type of unit; trailer, class A, class C, etc., showing people what to look for and how to tell if they're looking at a crap unit. I have my eye on one (years away), but I'm trying to be as informed as possible.
we need more people like you Liz to turn this industry around.......whats really sad is that can u imagine how expensive thes motorhomes would be if they were built in chicago, new york or LA.............and all the same problems
Glad the folks that had there issues fixed on there new coach, it’s going to be interesting to see if they have any issues in their future, it’ll be a few years before they show up, stay tuned!
Liz, great video. Still sad to see there are issues with Thor. It may not make much of a difference, but I will recommend and spread that NO ONE should buy a Four Winds RV. They had multiple chances to fix it and didn't do it right, consistently. The quality of customer service across all sectors has become a nightmare for the most part. Shame on Thor and Four Winds.
Liz, I serendipitously stumbled onto your channel one day about 3-4 weeks ago. That video I watched was about the quality issues many folks and apparently the industry is having. I don’t even own an RV currently, but I am considering the possibility. In my search I had been disappointed in the quality issues I was seeing in materials and fit/finish, so your video about that caught my eye. I was a bit disappointed as that video mostly just listed problems and issues, but not much regarding any resolutions people were getting. Since then I’ve watch a couple of your other videos including this one. I wanted to tell you I’m impressed by what you are doing, the quality of the vids and the content is great. Seems to me, the Thor owner here might not have gotten the resolution he did without your channel and efforts. Well done and I look forward to more from your channel. 😊😎
Anybody know of any websites or consumer group that tries to bring all the customer data together? Like a one stop shop where everybody throughout the industry can go to record their issues and success stories? Basically what Liz is doing but at much bigger scale? I might have to build something if not.
You are kinda like the "Ralph Nader"of the RV world!!! The great thing to come out of this is that these people are getting heard and finally taking care of!!! (WOW, you are so garsh darn pretty Liz❤!!!) It's so great that we have you in our corner to try to make things happen!!!
Right on this is exactly what I want to hear when I go to buy a motorhome I want to know they're going to stand by it no matter what and fix it no matter what
Liz a big thank you for what you're doing to help other RV out there. It's a shame that this industry does such shoddy work and you have to get on the horn with somebody to justify fixing something again, thank you
My wife and I bought a Used American Eagle coach 6 years a ago at the time it had 70000 miles since then we have put over 30000 miles on it and although it hasn't been trouble free the problems haven't been bad, and as a retired fleet tech I have been able to repair most things myself. Neighbor down the street has a newer Entagra and seems to have more serious and more issues than we've had.
Hi Jeff! Be sure to ring the bell to get a notification when I post on the Community Tab. I did post a couple videos there. The latest one was announcing I am taking December off. Thanks bunches for missing me. Merry Christmas and see you next year!
We have a 2021 Holiday Rambler Endeavor 38W. No issues at all. Great coach. Previously had a 2018 Jayco Greyhawk Prestige and that rv was a death trap. Countless issues.
Thank you, Liz, for another wonderful video about some unpleasant situations. That "what's going to go wrong next" feeling is bad enough in either a home or a vehicle, but when combined it seems to multiply. You're shining a bright light into some dark corners, and we appreciate you and your efforts! BTW: If you come across any shady dealers in the Detroit area, a collaboration with Rob Wolchek and his, "Hall of Shame," series might be fun. Your compassionate personality and investigative work along with his flair for the dramatic seem like they'd make a wonderfully entertaining and informational video! 🙂
Interesting on another channel a Thor Class B shower stall had several different size screws until one hit the frame. Screw size and quality control seem to be a common theme with Thor. Great follow up.
This is the second vid of yours that I've watched liz, this episode is the one you linked for me. Had it not been for your efforts, these people (Thor buyers) would likely still be living their surreal nightmare, of constant systems fails with their MH. Helping to or driving Thor into action imv is good for both buyer and builder.
I have had good luck since a had a HI LO for l7 yrs and . We now have a Rockwood trailer made in 2019 Had it 2 yrs, no problems Knock on Wood. Thanks again Liz Charley and Laura from Ocala fl.
I don’t know if this is a brand new coach??? But we had bought a 2020 Grand Design, Brand New and axle broke trim came off as well as a slide screw came out of slide and wrecked floor!! But after all of that, no issues in fact we sold it and bought Grand Design Solitude fifth Wheel!! Used this time so far a few fixes but love this coach!
Thank You Liz, because of your channel I really scope out Coaches. I knew I wanted a fifth wheel this second time around, and my Husband wanted to try one out! I think we got a beautiful Coach and we are really happy with it. We live full time and love it, I would love to meet you sometime, stay safe
A little tip everyone can benefit from. All RV's get loose cabinet hinge screws. Have on board wooden tooth picks or something like and super glue. When screws become loose put glue on the toothpick end and hammerer it into the hole. Break it off and put the screw back in. Over the years have done this many times.
Thank you for this video it saved me from going through what this couple went through with the same company. I’m thinking of going with a new prevost bus instead 🙏🏼🙏🏼 Thanks Liz
Well, if you can afford a new Prevost, that's awesome. Otherwise, check out used bus chassis such as Newell, ForeTravel, and even some of the Country Coaches.
Amongst so many negative comments and experiences I would like to add a positive one. I purchased a 2023 Newmar Bay Star Sport. I wanted gas, I wanted short, and I didn't want junk. The choices are very limited. Yes we have had a few problems, but nothing of the magnitude so many here have had. And the Newmar service center is a dream for any RVer. I wish everyone could experience real customer service and true RV expertise. They only make class A motorhomes, so obviously they aren't for everyone. But give them a serious look if an A is in your future.
Thank you so much for your videos. They shed light on the level of QC, or lack of, in the RV industry. I get that there are good dealers and warranty that will fix problems but as I've said many times, the best warranty is the one you never have to use. Anyway, after seeing some of your videos and hearing about owners' experiences it appears that RV industry's QC is reminiscent of automotive industry's QC back in the '70s. As I've learned in college and once I've started working as an engineer (I'm paraphrasing), for every dollar spent on QC during manufacturing you save $10 in repairs during pre delivery inspection (if they even do that), and $100 in warranty repair at the dealership. I'm amazed at the lack of care in QC exhibited by the RV manufacturers. Makes me not want to get one anymore and just stick with hotels and Airbnb.
Go for an old one and get an inspection. Before that, go to the Facebook group for your model and get the scoop from owners. And yes it's definitely time for the RV industry to shape up and do better. Thanks for watching
Some good friends of mine bought a older used Newell. He had all new injectors replaced and some other mechanical engine things, all new tires. They've be traveling in that bus for 20yrs now. I think they've replaced the refrigerator, and hot water heater system, but thats about it.
Buying an RV and traveling across the country has been a dream of mine. Now that I have seen “LIZ AMAZING's” videos, I am 100% convinced to NEVER, EVER DO THAT. Thanks, Liz.
I'm sorry to hear that Ron. It took me 26 years to get out and I LOVE THIS LIFE!! Not a good time to buy new, but trailers and fifth wheels built in 2019 and before tend to be well-built. The motorhome sweet spot is 2002 to 2008. Whatever you buy, join the Facebook group of the model to get the scoop from owners. And always get an inspection. I wondered about that as well. It's certainly a good reminder to get an inspection. Thanks for watching
To just pass your crap on to someone else is really poor… Disappointed in your response.
@@Millard-vo3ds it’s extremely common for people to sell their problems. Be at a car, boat, house or RV. Buyer beware. However, in Jim‘s case it was all fixed as far as he knew. He just didn’t want the aggravation.
Thank you for your videos, hope this finds you doing well and happy new year Liz!
You got that right, Mike! And oldie but goodie is the way to go.
Get the fluids checked. Learned that tip from the RV Inspection and Care podcast/TH-cam channel. I've listened to all episodes at least once. Also check out Rigor RV Repair. He did undercover inspections of New RVs as well as tips for Buyer Used RVs.
@@anon-w9l I have been watching the same videos you have. 😉
I'm glad it turned out mostly positive for them .
Me, too, Barry. I hope to interview someone at Thor someday. Stay tuned, and thanks for watching.
I was driving my cousins Holiday Rambler class A motor home years ago when I hit a good size bump in the road and the old heavy tube style TV came flying out of the cabinet above my head and rolled down the hall. Only held in with a few screws in to the wood. So older isn't always better either.
Yikes, Alan. That could have been tragic. Thanks for sharing.
I am starting to experience withdrawal symptoms since not seeing your weekly videos, looking forward to seeing them again.
Hi Randy! Me, too! I can't wait to be back. Thanks for missing me!
I came upon these videos while exploring ideas about my upcoming retirement. RVs are off the list now. Thank you for sharing this information. Good luck.
On the Road since September 2019 ;) Right behind your 5 years. Love traveling, dont see myself living any other way
Great job Liz! I also love how you are also shining the spotlight on the RV’s that are better just like the ‘Oliver’ video. 👍👍
Thanks Chris. I am so glad you are here!
These motor home owners did a wonderful job with their portion of the video. Very professional.
Am I the only person who is concerned that the dealer Jim traded the RV to will just put lipstick on a pig and resell it to some other unsuspecting person?
Thank you, Thank you, Thank You for teaching me how wonderful staying with my 6 man tent can be so exciting and comfortable! Thank you!
I know so frustrating. Thanks for watching Bill and Happy Thanksgiving.
Nice to know we have an advocate for helping get things done!
Thanks Clint. I sure appreciate you being here and stay tuned.
You are awesome Liz, thank you.
Thank you for being here, Timothy!!!
Good to hear that some manufacturers are stepping up and fixing issues. Too bad this is what it takes. Thanks for the vids.
Sure hope they wakeup and do better. Thanks for watching, Mark!
Thank you Liz for sharing!!! It’s good to hear that these manufacturers are hearing you! Happy Thanksgiving!!
Thank you so much, Kim. I so appreciate you cheering me on!
@@LizAmazing you’re welcome
Thank you Liz for exposing the RV issues. It helps me look for a better quailty RV.
Yay, so glad you are enjoying this series. Thanks for watching
Hi ! Liz
This is topic is a gold mine !!
Keep up the great work and fighting for the consumers !!!!
Robert from Ohio !!
Hi Robert! Thanks so much for your support. Stay tuned for more and have a Happy Thanksgiving.
Happy thanksgiving to you to !!! 🦃🦃
Kudos to you Liz. Your videos concerning owners with bad quality problems is paying off. Glad to see Thor is responding.
Thanks for your support, Ernest! Happy Thanksgiving!
I love this series! You are doing God’s work!
Aww, thank you much. I am glad you are here.
Glad the folks that had there issues fixed on there new coach, it’s going to be interesting to see if they have any issues in their future, it’ll be a few years before they show up, stay tuned!
Indeed, that is right. Thanks for watching, Jeff.
They would've never gotten their RV fixed without you telling Thor you are doing a video. Very cool Liz!
Thanks Barbara. I hope the industry is watching these videos and decides to do better across the board. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Thank you for all your hard work! I am glad he got rid of that camper! I will email you later this week about some more info : )
Yes, please do. And thanks for watching.
You are really doing a great service for the RV community. Thank you!
Thanks so much for saying so, glad you are here.
Thank you, it is getting scary. Honesty and transparency is a thing of the past.
Thanks again, I wish you the best.
Thor's strategy is to just wait out the customer....unless the bad press forces them to act...
Such a shame. I hope they see these videos as a wakeup call.
I know it. Such a sad story, especially for Jim. Thanks for your comment, and for being here.
That Play Button is lookin’ good on you Liz! Congratulations!🎉🎈🎊🥳👍🏼😎
It is! Thank you so much, glad you helped get me here!
Need to have Lemon Laws for RVs.
You are the best keep up the good work people really appreciate all u are doing two help your a good woman
Aww, thanks for the love and support, Ron!
Problem is there is no competition from foreign manufacturers. Foreign auto manufacturers made American manufacturers step up their quality.
Aww, thanks so much, Thomas, and welcome to the channel. I sure appreciate your support!
Anybody know of any websites or consumer group that tries to bring all the customer data together? Like a one stop shop where everybody throughout the industry can go to record their issues and success stories? Basically what Liz is doing but at much bigger scale?
I might have to build something if not.
Go for it. It sure is needed, Russell! And thanks for watching.
An awesome idea!
The bottom line is with your work and standing up to the manufacturers, we now have an amazing advocate! Thank you!
Aww, so grateful to be making a difference, Bernard!!!
I'd hate to be the guy who buys that Four Winds trade in. Yikes!
Another reason to ALWAYS get an inspection.
You are kinda like the "Ralph Nader"of the RV world!!! The great thing to come out of this is that these people are getting heard and finally taking care of!!! (WOW, you are so garsh darn pretty Liz❤!!!) It's so great that we have you in our corner to try to make things happen!!!
Thanks so much for cheering me on, Michael! I am glad you're here!
What a buzzkill for your retirement years!!
Right on this is exactly what I want to hear when I go to buy a motorhome I want to know they're going to stand by it no matter what and fix it no matter what
Hi Leslie! Thanks so much, I am glad you are here!
I will never buy an RV.
Liz a big thank you for what you're doing to help other RV out there. It's a shame that this industry does such shoddy work and you have to get on the horn with somebody to justify fixing something again, thank you
You are so welcome, Robert. I am happy to be here doing my part to get the RV industry to wake up and do the right thing. Thanks for watching
Too little too late, been building new junk for years
They can't stay in business if this keeps up. I hope they do better for sure. Thanks for watching.
Hey Liz, I hope this finds you healhy and doung well. I havent seen post and content lately. Anyway, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
I believe it. Glad you got a good one now. Thanks for watching.
Ok, thanks for the tip, and for your kind words. Thanks for watching!
that guy is very well spoken and easy to follow
He was! Thanks Bill!
Your the best. Helping all these people keep up the great work Liz.
Thanks so much for your support, John!
Interesting on another channel a Thor Class B shower stall had several different size screws until one hit the frame. Screw size and quality control seem to be a common theme with Thor. Great follow up.
This is the second vid of yours
that I've watched liz,
this episode is the one you linked
for me.
Had it not been for your
efforts, these people (Thor buyers)
would likely still be living
their surreal nightmare, of constant
systems fails with their MH.
Helping to or driving Thor into
action imv is good for both buyer
and builder.
The foam cawlk startied to rise from the dead! LOL
Hi Liz, congrats on hitting 5 years on the road. May the next 5 years on the road be much better! :)
It's getting better all the time, Randall! Thanks for being here!
Your welcome Liz! I’m happy to be here with you.
Well done Liz ! Now could we have the brands and types of RV's that live up to expectations ? Which ones are people happy with ?
Yes! I'm sure you saw the video before this with happy owners of new RVs? If not, check it out. More to come. Thanks for watching.
I have had good luck since a had a HI LO for l7 yrs and . We now have a Rockwood trailer made in 2019 Had it 2 yrs, no problems Knock on Wood. Thanks again Liz Charley and Laura from Ocala fl.
So glad you've had such good luck! Looking forward to seeing you out here, Charley and Laura!
We lived in Williston Crossings RV Resort for 2 years. Nice area!
Yay! So glad to hear a happy story. Thanks for this, Sandra!
Thank You Liz, because of your channel I really scope out Coaches. I knew I wanted a fifth wheel this second time around, and my Husband wanted to try one out! I think we got a beautiful Coach and we are really happy with it. We live full time and love it, I would love to meet you sometime, stay safe
I am recommending your channel to my other RV friends. Great work!
Thank you so much, Donna. I sure appreciate you!
I’m thinking of going with a new prevost bus instead 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Thanks Liz
Well, if you can afford a new Prevost, that's awesome. Otherwise, check out used bus chassis such as Newell, ForeTravel, and even some of the Country Coaches.
You do a great job and service for the public.
Thank you so very much, Joel!
Thank you for going to bat for the community!
keep up the good work.Keep these companies honest and doing what they say they will do.Make them stick to the warranties they say are in place.
Thank you very much for your support, Jim.
You are amazing Liz!!!!!
Thanks so much for your support!
Thank you, Liz. Great videos.
Thanks Richard!!
Thanks for the updates Liz. Well done, keep doing the quality (lack of) videos.

Liz, great job on getting Thor to step up! Great channel and content!
Thank you so much, I so appreciate your support!
It turns out Liz is amazing. Liz I think you've found your calling! Excellent job.
Hello! Thanks so much for your support. Happy Thanksgiving and see you next time.
Thanks for the update Liz !👍
Thanks for being here, Ralph. Happy Thanksgiving.

Liz this is excellent information! I hope the couple that traded in the molded water damaged class C had an inspection for their Jayco! 😊
I don't know if he did but it's certainly an argument for buyers of used to ALWAYS get an inspection. It seemed like all the leaks were (finally) fixed on his but you never know. Thanks for watching.
