I remember having DeathBringers Will and every time someone got a proc in raid you'd just hear "TAAAUNNNKAAAAA BAAAAABYYYY" followed by someone shooting up the charts
Taunka procc and sharpened twilight scale and you practical dont care about anything. The scale is stronger than Dw because it proccs more often and gives more ap, but just for 15sec.

Arp proc based trinkets were only decent in pvp and in the early stages of the expansion (meaning 3.0 to 3.2)
bruh if anything convergance of fates IS THE trinket.not even arcanocrystal is worthy of its glory.i literaly had a 2 year relationship with that trinket.no woman can spend as much time as my warrior spent with my trinket.
I remember getting Draught of Souls on my fury warrior on my guild's very first Gul'Dan kill. Never have i ever had so much fun playing warrior. At the beginning of every boss encounter, i had the ability to take the aggro directly from the tank due to my insanely high burst, and i loved it. Your DPS just went flying through the roof through these first 5sec of an encounter, and no one even came close to you. Wish i could experince it once more, loved Legion throughly.
My nerdscreams never reached such heights as when I got some Heroic Warforged version of it from a weekly or monthly whatever quest box... My Fury was decked to the max! Even though it took me months to get legendaries (playing as actively as my guildies that already had like 4-5) I was lucky to get the best ones first, and in Nighthold I got setbonus fast, as well as this trinket. Boi was it good damn time, great raid and fun to play Fury! I think HC Nighthold also features my one and only #1 Warcraftlogs score from over the years :P
Deathbringer didn't proc armor penetration. - Wrykul was the hast proc - Ice Dward was the crit proc - Taunka was the primary stat proc (Sterngh or Agility) The armor pen was flat stats on the trinket that's it
i think it did proc Armor pen, but got patched since at that point anyone capped armorpenetration anyways... so it was a useless proc. He saying "everyone wanted that proc" is wrong. To quote the wiki: WoW Hotfix (2010-01-06): "Deathbringer’s Will trinket will now proc haste as a replacement for armor penetration."
legion specifically had lots of really creative trinkets. aswell as Draught of Souls there was: Whiupsers in the dark that increased and decreased your cast speed; cradle of anguish which gave you above when above 80% health; eyes of shatug and fhrag, which like shadowstrike could be switched to the other item, and gave a benifit if both tanks had 1 each; and engine of eradication which agve you little buff orbs to pick up, much like a DH soul fragments. BFA has some really good trinkets, specifically in EP, like the Ashvane wave trinket, or the uunat int trinket, but in general thers alot less creative trinkets.
There were soooooo many cool trinkets in Legion. I loved the Portal Keepers Codex, and the tanking one off of Kin was awesome. I enjoyed combining different tanking trinkets in Legion just to see what effects I could get.
Yup also moonglaives, engine and convergence of fate. Three really interesting honorable mentions for Legion. One of the best surprise i had in years as a long time wow player overall with WoD in term of raid difficulty/fun ratio. One of the best time to play rogue.
@@qm1174 Dont forget Bloodthirsty Instinct from Ursoc, EN. That thing was super op when it titanforged. Chrono-Shard from the Arcway aswell. Still having those in my bank for nostalgia.
I'm missing one OP trinked from BWL, The Black Book. It wasn't super OP in vanilla, however in TBC, this trinket became utterly OP because it was percentage based and also worked on the Felguard, turning it into an insane killing machine.
There was a trinket back in Wrath that was broken for a short while that made it hilariously OP. The Essence of Gossomer off Hadronox in Azjol-Nerub. It gave you a shield periodically that would absorb some damage and gave you some flat stam. Well, there was an internal programming bug that, occasionally when the shield would proc, your AP would go to absurd levels. I saw it proc once in particular in Naxx. We were doing the first boss in Spider Wing and the fight was underway about 20 or 30 seconds, I was tanking the boss by the edge how you’re supposed to. I wasn’t watching much and then one of our hunters spoke over Vent, ‘Uh, Kitch, why are you SO far ahead in threat?’. I look at the meter and I’m at like 100 and everyone one else is about 1/2. The boss was also suddenly at 60% or so health. I looked at the damage breakdown later and saw my revenges and heroic strikes and everything else was doing hundreds of thousands of damage and were all critting like crazy. Was funny as hell. I remember some people playing bear tanks were talking about the trinket going off during…..the Frankenstein boss with the positive and negative charges, I forget the name, but when you’d get the big buffs by having the same charges near you combined with the bug….yeah, you can imagine. Never saw it do that in pvp but it may have been fixed by the time I decided to try that out. That would have been glorious if that worked.
The Linken's Boomerang and the quest for it are one of my favorite memories from Vanilla wow, cuz I did it with my best friend. It took forever and took you all around Kalimdor, ending in Ungoro Crater.. running into the T-Rex that wanders around Ungoro was scary and fun.
I feel like lightning capacitor deserves a slot, though maybe passed over because its elemental shaman specific. But if you elemental mastery a chain lighting vs 3 targets it procs the trinket which fires a lightning bolt which gains your crit rating and a bonus 10 percent from your talents. This trinket actually changes the way you will play and any of them that do that deserve a mention imo.
OMG The Dragonspine Trophy! I remember I got pugged into a guild alt run with my friends guild back in the day. When this dropped, I was the only character who could actually use the trinket. Everyone was so mad they weren't on their main they've been waiting months on for this to drop, and I get it my first time In Gruul lol
Just a minor correction - Val'anyr, Hammer of Ancient Kings doesn't directly replicate the Scarab Brooch's functionality as you suggested in the video (at about 18:30). It's similar, but it gives the CASTER a buff, causing all healing done to ANY target to shield for 15% of the amount healed. So half the duration of the Scarab Brooch, but you weren't limited to shielding a single target. I still use mine in Timewalking, actually.
I recall scarab brooch putting the buff on the user and that the users heals would then apply the shield. That's why it was so good for chain heal and prayer of healing
In BFA, as well as Cyclotronic Blast, you also have Ashvane's Razor Coral, which is still BiS for many classes in Ny'althoa because of the absolutely absurd amount of crit you can gain in progression fights, since it scales with how long a fight is. Specifically for Demon Hunter as well, there is Merektha's Fang (Temple of Sethralis), which is a STR Trinket, but is BiS for DH in M+, because it scales with haste and DH's Furious Gaze stack gives an absolutely broken haste value, Merektha's Fang can literally do 10% of your overall damage in a dungeon, and more if the tank is making big pulls.
As a note, the Arcanocrystal was so strong for Arms Warrior that when I finally got a non-titanforged one at the end of Legion, it still simmed only a few thousand dps less than my heroic Antorus trinkets. What an insane oversight.
I missed two trinkets with a pretty similar effect: Assurance of Consequence and Evil Eye of Galakras from Sha of Pride and Galakras in Siege of Orgrimmar.
The most broken trinket I got to experience was: Rune of Re-Origination from Lei Shen This trinket was SO broken for Feral druids that I don’t remember anyone playing Feral without this trinket
Yeah I have no idea how it didn't make the list. The trinket singlehandedly kept feral in the top spot for single target throughout ToT and SoO at a time when MoP warlocks existed. I miss snapshotting so damn much.
@@TheFrozensoul1992 Yeh I had it back in the day on my monk, and remember getting 200% extra damage when i popped my tigereye brew. As you said it was the reason WW monks had tier mastery changed or we might still be using it to this day (yes i know I'm being sightly overdramatic)
@@pansaur I wouldn't say you are being overdramatic. RoRo is the reason why trinkets now have a level cap after which they don't work anymore. It was really that good.
@@MooseCastle i miss it too, i wasnt really able to get it working, but i thought that it add complexity to dotters, if they apply their dots well and keep them applied it will deal hell lot of more dmg
Bishop Rorabaugh lots of classes rolled on this, and with 25man being the only way to get it, a LOT of people got shafted out of this trinket. It was insane for raids and even more insane for pvp burst
Playing a fully geared and legacy tier set out sub rogue and having it proc in the opener with leggo ring, was some of the most fun I'd had on my rogue. Purposefully popping the aura to have soul cap drop the damage into the ring and doubling into Cap during the ring burst was insane. I almost one shot Kil'rogg Deadeye mythic after going into the Visions of death with the 'Undying Resolve', seeing a weakaura showing how much damage i was doing at 100m+ was so satisfying.
@@kylematel0l I wasn't as geared as you but that just meant I ended up causing wipes when Soul cap into ring deleted one of the big adds that left puddles, giving both tanks way too many stacks...
The best way to abuse it was to attack low level target dummies in an enemy capital to stack up huge damage (due to extra damage to lower level targets) and then mount up and explode in the AH. I think I one shot like 100 people once this way.
Vanilla version had 1% dodge and 750-1250 shield on 30 min cd Tbc version had 12 dodge rating and 750-1250 shield on 30 min cd Wotlk and onwards was 12 stam and 750-1250 shield on 30 min cd

Amazing video as always! I loved it a lot. just a little request, I enjoy watching the gameplay in the background too, itd be cool if u blurred it for the first few seconds then unblurred it afterwards. Keep up the amazing videos!
Good good, wasn't sure how people would react to the new editing style. And the youtube chapter thing is a new feature, I have to set that up with time stamps in a specific way for it to work, so I'm glad people like them.
Low key I do wish we could have trinkets that lasted the whole expansion. It does make it easier and stable in my opinion given the vast stat increases and decreases they seem to offer each raid.
Some things you forgot about cyclotronic that made it so broken were it scaled with bonus damage effects and haste. And when they “nerfed” it, that gave it the ability to crit which kept it OP for awhile after being “fixed”.
the first "you see" was at 1:16, jesus they keep coming out faster and faster The second "you see" is at 5:58 The third "you see" is at 13:34 And even a fourth "you see" dropped at 18:52, incredible
Also, in WOD a raid full of mages could kill in 20 seconds mythic tier bosses, not only normal. Also, since rune of power used to heal you over time for a % of your health, a full HFC geared mage could SOLO some of the BRF bosses in mythic difficulty. It felt amazing playing mage in that expansion :)
show me video proof of a Mage soloing BRF Mythic just from full HFC M gear - that just didnt happen, even that 20s kill timer, that was done by that guild on Ravencrest (forgot their name but i was ahead of them in realm progress btw) - was stacked and wasnt a "full raid of mages" either. they had multiple warlocks and rogues too.
@@Ziosove you can't solo Kormrok though... it's a tank fight with a LOS portion sorry but what? where's the video link? Also; previous reply; i know you said "bosses" not fully. but i still do not believe any could be - afaik the only thing ive really seen solo things was a Prot Pala.
@@scottguthrie1854 I tried looking for it and didn't find it to be fair, I might be mistaken with HC bosses, I'll try to look for it later aswell. Iirc there were some people that could survive that boss till enrage, just lacked the damage to kill it (warlocks I believe?) and mage had enough healing through RoP to survive.
I thought for sure Soul Capacitor would be on this list. It straight up broke challenge mode world records with how fast you could do them due to this trinket alone.
Ye i remember that, That trinket deserved atleast Top 3. CM were faceroll due to it we boosted 2 people to gold basicaly any dungeon.Good times, sad that Game died Due to SL. But what can you do.
I just knew Visions of Lei Shen would be in there, it was such a good item, especially for a fire mage! Alternatively, trying to get as many nether tempests on mobs as possible in that little window was fun too, just to watch those crits bounce around for a bit. I loved that item.
I knew it too. There's more to it especially regarding Warlocks! There was some gimmick that Affli could do to suck dots from a target and then fire them away again (iirc talent or glyph to make the dots remain on main target) so they could spread 100% crit dots to at least 2 targets. Also Destrolocks were topping meters with Chaos Bolt being a guaranteened crit chance, and since that would be boring for the stat, Blizz decided to make Chaos Bolt scale in DAMAGE by crit chance, so 100% extra was bonkers!
It was a very niche scenario, but in MoP Lei Shen dropped the Rune of Re-Origination. For most classes it was pretty mid to bad, but for windwalkers, you could snapshot a metric ton of mastery for tigereye brew with the trinket proc, and you would do obscene damage. They literally changed tigereye brew as a result, real fun
This is absolutely the most op trinket of all time. Feral druids uses rip when it procd and doubled your dps. I remember getting 1.2mil rip ticks. Fuckin broken
Neltharion's Tear was also very strong, considering it dropped from Vanilla Nefarian. I used it until I got the Skull of Gul'dan from Illidan, lol, about two years later.
I used it until I got Dying Curse, four years later. In no small part thanks to never seeing a hex shrunken head or skull of gul'dan drop once in years of kills.
I'd love for someone to properly look into how overpowered Warriors' Diamond Flask with + Healing could be in Classic (and Vanilla) could be. It makes use of the snapshotting 'feature' mentioned in this video where if you change into +Healing Gear before combat, pop Diamond Flask then you can Heal for ~1,000 hp (if you had +1,000 healing) every 5 seconds for 60 seconds. Surely that's gotta be up there, especially for a class that specifically doesn't have self healing.
I remember using Vision of Lei Shen as a demo lock...that trinket was so incredibly busted. It did not matter what ilvl the trinket was, being able to snapshot doom an have imps spawn out every tick was insane. On dark animus I was able to get up to 70 imps out at once due to all the dooms.
I got the regular version on my demo lock. Never saw the heroic version. I remember getting a ton of imps out on the council boss in ToT with 4 dooms ticking away Edit: autocorrect
one trinket I remember loving was the darkmoon card: Maelstrom While a level 60 trinket, used it on a 70 hunter equipped with a druid staff and spammed wingclip. The effect said "Equip: Chance to strike your melee target with lightning for 200 to 300 Nature damage." but it ended up actually scaling off 'main hand damage' so using a druid staff with high base damage (because they didn't think anyone but druids'd use it) and spamming attacks made it proc often for a thousand or so damage (damage meters showed the damage as 'elemental deck: wrath') while not severely broken, it was still funny to hear "Noob hunter's in melee" "Noob melee hunter's doing 2x everyone else's damage".
I feel like Convergence of Fates should’ve gotten an honorable mention, since even the LFR version was BIS for warriors (to my knowledge) for all of Legion. Then a titan forged/ relinquished titanforge convergence was BIS for the other specs that used it like Marksmanship (my main spec)
Just a slight correction, with Deathbringers Will you kinda hated when you procced on armpen because you would already be capped or near capped, so when you procced it you kinda went far beyond the cap and missed all the good stats you might have gotten
You forgot the Nevermelting Ice Crystal, a drop from regular Pit of Saron that once activated would give you 100% chance on your next spell cast. The key thing here is that Affliction warlocks could activate it at the beginning of the fight, put on a 100% crit chance Corruption and refresh it the entire fight through Haunt, guaranteeing your corruption crit 100% of the fight. Not the most broken trinket, but pretty good nonetheless.
Nice list! Would have loved to see Assurance of Consequence on it, as I find that to be one of the most overpowered trinkets ever. If used right, you could have basically the strongest cooldowns in the game ready in no time, it was such a beast in SoO.
Possibly an honorable mention to Hand of Justice. Was BiS for Rogues into Naxx, even though it was a lvl 53 item dropping out of BRD (Granted, trinkets in vanilla were pretty meh overall). The chance for your OH weapon to proc this, creating a MH weapon hit (and possible Crusader/Poison procs) was pretty powerful.
Lightning Capacitor from TBC Kara is why internal cooldowns exist. It had no internal cooldown in its original iteration making it completely broken for every AoE situation esp PvP
09:11 - They weren't taking down NM bosses in 30 seconds, they were taking down MY bosses in 15 seconds while current content. Hell, there's a video where they took down the penultimate boss of the current raid tier in 59s on MY difficulty.
I remember I managed to earn a DBW from a PUG the first time I got to DBS, went from zero to hero in 2 seconds and every other physical DPS went from glad to mad in the same 2 seconds; a lot of angry /raid chat followed for obvious reasons but the RL was pretty cool and said "he won it fair and square guys" and congratulated me on getting the item. I've still got it in my bank just for memories sake. I'm surprised you didnt include the ZG and BWL class trinkets as an honorable mention; then again, blizzard had the foresight to nerf those as soon as TBC dropped.
I love when items transcend expansions, or at least patches within one. It's so sad that each tier completely steamrolls the next for unique items like this, in the vast majority of cases.
i absolutely hate when items transcend expansions, if you have something so powerful you keep it thorught whole next expansion, its op and should be changed, it makes loot obsolete, like the druid hat in vanilla and the mace with haste from gnome
@@Quitarstudent It makes sense that an item I get off an old god is better than some random trinket from a thieves hideout. Just give evergreen trinkets a 30ish min CD so you will still use other items
The other thing about the Lei shin trinket with Locks was Chaos Bolt, which at the time scaled in damage with Crit chance so when you had 100% crit it did massive burst damage, without being fully geared with raid gear I was able to bust 1.3mil damage with chaos bolts.
I was an exceptionally well geared Destro Lock during SoO - and I can confirm, burst damage was ridiculous. I'd regularly do 4 million DPS during the first 20 seconds of the fight. Absolutely busted.

Correction - Deathbringer's Will was quickly patched to NOT proc armor penetration. ICC raiders who stacked armor penetration were already near the cap of 1400. An additional proc of 600 or 700 (heroic) would be wasted, so Blizzard changed it. Also Mark of Supremacy shouldn't be anywhere close to DBW in comparison. Not sure what sims you are using but that's wildly inaccurate.
Eh, I had DBW and just ran less armor pen so the proc would cap me. Still simmed higher that way. Of course I had to completely redo my gear like a month later because they changed it :|
I was a little surprised to not see Cunning of the Cruel on the list, I remember running it in RBGs in Cata with the legendary staff. Staff proc off the trinket and sending a second wave of shadow bolts and wiping a full 10 man RBG team on its own before the nerf. Trinket would hit for 30-45k when even tanks at this time had only 50-60k hp
Shameless self plug for my own choice for OP trinket. I think you kind of mentioned it, but its part of the class trinkets that dropped of Archimonde.. specifically the Paladin class trinket.. specifically the protection spec version. What it did was; when you dropped below a certain amount of hp (Based on ilvl) The trinket would do a sort of Holy nova, healing you and doing aoe damage. A couple of things made it extremely overpowered, it scaled with versatility, the health requirement for it to proc was super high (81% for the HC WF version, mythic WF version was around 90% health) and perhaps the most important; it was stupidly OP coupled with the Legendary Tanking ring. With this trinket, you could literally dive-bomb horde by simply dropping down on them from your mount, pop the legendary ring on the way down.. and as you took fall damage: Instantly explode killing everyone in the area, and heal you to full. (It had a baseline damage of 126k, my record self buffed was 800k, and with external buffs.. well its in the video below) I made my first pvp video with this trinket.. I recommend taking a look because I think it actually went under the radar for most of WoD. th-cam.com/video/j99xZknp4Hc/w-d-xo.html
Shadow priests were even more broken with the vision of lei shen trinket, I believe it was shadow word: pain crits that would spawn shadowy apparitions, which at the time would extend the duration of your dots, so it was possible for you to have your dots on a boss for the entire fight critting 100% of the time
The Dragonspine Trophy (#9 lvl 70 trinket, 2:25) was pretty op in some pvp situations. With some other Haste procs (like Hunter rapid fire) and a fast Bow I think it was Hurricane, a low lvl blue bow, you was able to do an auto attack every 0,12 seconds which was like 8 hits in one second. Enemy casters couldn't cast a single spell because of their pushback. The Damage wasn't that great around 100 per attack , when I remember correctly, but you was able to kill players in 5-6 seconds while they were unable to do anything. Was pretty hilarious
not for the person on the recieving end... i have this absolutely clear memory of doing 2s as a rdruid with pretty much full Wrathful set and this fucking dwarf prot warrior charges me, stuns me and i die in 3 secs... but honestly it was great, as a feral it was so fucking tasty
Shadowmourne armor pen capped warriors with dbw proc and a shaman pocket healer sweeping strikes up bloodlust and windfury... my priest would just flop over. Sometimes they'd kill my rogue and I at the same time
This. This is by far the most overpowered AND interesting trinket in wows history. The Way it worked with windwalkers mastery was so cool. It was the only Reason i opened this video and i was dissapointed :/
@@michaelkennielsen1422 Was a feral druid back then. An LFR rune of Reorigination was so good that it was only out performed by better versions of the same trinket.
The fact that Cunning of the Cruel is not on this list is insane, back in cata you literally could not get a spot in a RBG without it and was mandatory for 2k plus spell cleaves
yeah definitely expected that as well, wasn't rare for it to do at least a third of your damage in arena. It was pretty much the caster version of the vial and even got a similar nerf so probably should have been mentioned together with it.
talking about broken trinkets, socretar in hellfire citadel drops the "soul capacitor" trinket which would stop all your damage outwards and then deal all damage you dealt during the trinket proc in a single hit, now late in legion i discovered that the trinket works on critters scaled damage, so you would essentially oneshot anyone near you after the trinket ended, resulting in world boss oneshots aswell on my 101 character when 110 was the maximum the tricky part was finding a critter it worked on as well as time the trinket proc (which was already hard to proc, 0.2 procs per minute or similar) and all this near the world boss, i sent ticket to blizzard and they took around 3-5 months to fix this bug which was hillarious to oneshot world bosses as well as players in pvp if you could line up all the required combo be in combat with angry 110 hordes, have a lucky proc, find a critter, wait the 10 seconds required for trinket to pop, boom 110 guy dead. all while a 110 horde is hitting you as a 101 twink.
Surprised he didn't include the tank heirloom from WoD. It was so good, they had to nerf it in bfa since the absorb was higher than a lot of health. And used to be unspeakable in time walking.
On release dragonspine trophy had no icd. It also had no attack power so it got overlooked. A lot of the tier 4 level gear was really bad on release before it got buffed.

I've watched the channel for over 5 years, and honestly, the guy has really good content with decent editing... ...oh hello btw nice to see that the channel is growing Hiru...
Two things about this video. One is about the cyclotronic blast trinket, it was also affected by things like a disc priests schism so also doing 30% more through the trinket. Also another thing that might have been worth looking into is the rune of re-origination making feral druids completely broken and unbalanced when they went for a mastery steroid. Other then that great video!!
I totally forgot about the crystal! And I played mage in that expansion as my first alt (who cleared at least half the raid on mythic as well, or even more)
Cunning of the cruel, especially prenerf. I had the lfr version first week of the raid tier. I was dead in a Eye of the storm on my lock ressed and the trinket procs to the other side of the bg from some dots I left before I died, it oneshoted 2 players from 90%-0%
17:32 I don't know... I'm extremely skeptical: This kinda thing just screams that the healer is going to spam overhealing during that 30 second window in order to utilize the buff... That's a ton of wasted mana... And while you're generally using up most global cooldowns, very few bosses actually require you to constantly spam your fastest, most powerful heals... You're generally weaving in a variety of healing spells that do different things & are more mana efficient: Altho, i think one exception might be the 3rd boss in BWL (Blackwing Lair): And if we're talking lvl 70 & lvl 80 content... then it'd be 2nd boss of Heroic Magister's Terrace and the last boss of ToC raid: Both of which do massive AoE damage to the entire group in their final phase. None of these conditions describe the Lich King fight.
Ion's name is pronounced the same way Ian is. Draught in "Draught of Souls" is pronounced the same way as draft. Unerring is pronounced like un-airing. Edit: Brooch should usually be pronounced the same as broach, it's just a different spelling.
Blame the American English language for "draught." The only time it's used in that spelling is for beer, but because it's used for a liquid, it makes sense (oxymoronically), to be pronounced like the word meaning lack of water.

Arp proc based trinkets were only decent in pvp and in the early stages of the expansion (meaning 3.0 to 3.2)
Found a mistake in the video: Carrot on a Stick isn't at the number 1 spot.
also DBW is different in its time, missing haste proc from video and only 3 specific could proc
Time is money, friend!
my 1st thought exactly- it was the most op trinket for leveling ever
bruh if anything convergance of fates IS THE trinket.not even arcanocrystal is worthy of its glory.i literaly had a 2 year relationship with that trinket.no woman can spend as much time as my warrior spent with my trinket.
It's number 1
How can you forget the true most OP trinket in WoW's history, the Carrot on a Stick?
That 3% mount speed is so useful
we all just humans, but you have right
Carrot on a stick at lvl 40. Life just felt right with it.
I just got this again on classic yesterday!

Battle Cry + Pre Pot + Avatar + Draught of Souls, I think my personal best was like 15m dps in the first couple of seconds of the opener, in Nighthold
I think I killed Guldan on heroic, normal and LFR about 50 times and it never dropped. I was so fkn pissed
Draught of Souls was so delicious.
@per7481 don't forget to rampage first to be enraged 😂
Deathbringer didn't proc armor penetration.
- Wrykul was the hast proc
- Ice Dward was the crit proc
- Taunka was the primary stat proc (Sterngh or Agility)
The armor pen was flat stats on the trinket that's it
i think it did proc Armor pen, but got patched since at that point anyone capped armorpenetration anyways... so it was a useless proc. He saying "everyone wanted that proc" is wrong.
To quote the wiki: WoW Hotfix (2010-01-06): "Deathbringer’s Will trinket will now proc haste as a replacement for armor penetration."
Your english is horrible.
@@so_dead noone was arp capped in pvp lmao - ppl were using sharpened twilight scale, DBW, deaths choice or whispering fanged skull depending on class
I can 100% guarantee the taunka procced armor pen. It got patched out though because it was too overpowered, since ArmorPen scaled exponentionally.
@@Fawhftw I was arp capped on my war. It was easy with the 25 man heroic 2h mace but most people weren't good enough to get that boss down.
the trinkets from legion make me wish i'd tried harder to raid
legion specifically had lots of really creative trinkets. aswell as Draught of Souls there was: Whiupsers in the dark that increased and decreased your cast speed; cradle of anguish which gave you above when above 80% health; eyes of shatug and fhrag, which like shadowstrike could be switched to the other item, and gave a benifit if both tanks had 1 each; and engine of eradication which agve you little buff orbs to pick up, much like a DH soul fragments.
Im surprised rune of reorigination wasnt mentioned
I'm missing one OP trinked from BWL, The Black Book. It wasn't super OP in vanilla, however in TBC, this trinket became utterly OP because it was percentage based and also worked on the Felguard, turning it into an insane killing machine.
wasn't good till BC right?
I farmed and coined Withered Jim every time he was up, for the whole xpac. Still no arcane crystal :(
I ran had 2 titanforged to 945, one on my outlaw rogue and one on my ret/prot pali. Best trinket ever
I remember finally rolling and winning DeathBringer's Will after like 40 runs...
I missed two trinkets with a pretty similar effect: Assurance of Consequence and Evil Eye of Galakras from Sha of Pride and Galakras in Siege of Orgrimmar.
the whole split segments of the video thing is really dope, good job
The most broken trinket I got to experience was: Rune of Re-Origination from Lei Shen
This trinket was SO broken for Feral druids that I don’t remember anyone playing Feral without this trinket
It was so broken for windwalker monks that they changed our mastery effect for SoO patch

Amen bro.it was funny to see this droping till u were not melé 😂😂
Bishop Rorabaugh lots of classes rolled on this, and with 25man being the only way to get it, a LOT of people got shafted out of this trinket. It was insane for raids and even more insane for pvp burst
man I had that shit ninja'd from me. I'm still salty
my guild hated me when I got both the 10m version and then the 25m version
I feel like soul capacitor in wod was pretty broken
i was expecting it to be on the list.
@@kylematel0l I would chunk off at least 1/4 of kilroggs health after vision with that damn thing, and I only had the heroic version. It was amazing.
How could you not mention the ”arena grand master” trinket? Obtainable at lv 1 and gave 12 sta and 15 min CD shield that would absorb 1200 damage.
Didn't give any stamina. It yeah was a good item - 30m cd btw
@@drafman1 Look first version it had 12 stamina

Keep up the amazing videos!
Love the editing, especially with the TH-cam chapters for each item!
Good good, wasn't sure how people would react to the new editing style. And the youtube chapter thing is a new feature, I have to set that up with time stamps in a specific way for it to work, so I'm glad people like them.
0:10 ahhh yeah. Playing as a tank and looking how the Melees/hunts killing itselves for take It. Good times
Low key I do wish we could have trinkets that lasted the whole expansion. It does make it easier and stable in my opinion given the vast stat increases and decreases they seem to offer each raid.
the trinkets nowadays are just dumb and mostly broken its no fun anymore
Nowdays are extra shorts cd are best than a random proc for 400 extra stat @@tarikhansen5966
Some things you forgot about cyclotronic that made it so broken were it scaled with bonus damage effects and haste. And when they “nerfed” it, that gave it the ability to crit which kept it OP for awhile after being “fixed”.
the first "you see" was at 1:16, jesus they keep coming out faster and faster
The second "you see" is at 5:58
The third "you see" is at 13:34
And even a fourth "you see" dropped at 18:52, incredible
@@scottguthrie1854 I said full hfc geared mage could solo mythic BRF bosses, not hfc.

@@scottguthrie1854 I tried looking for it and didn't find it to be fair, I might be mistaken with HC bosses, I'll try to look for it later aswell. I thought for sure Soul Capacitor would be on this list. It straight up broke challenge mode world records with how fast you could do them due to this trinket alone.
Plus it made sub rogue viable in raids!! the dmg we could put out was insane with it
Ye i remember that, That trinket deserved atleast Top 3. CM were faceroll due to it we boosted 2 people to gold basicaly any dungeon.Good times, sad that Game died Due to SL. But what can you do.
Soul Cap proc into leggo ring active popping into another soul cap proc was good times for all
I just knew Visions of Lei Shen would be in there, it was such a good item, especially for a fire mage!
I had a Scarab Brooch when i first healed LK 10 with my priest, such a good trinket im glad it made it to the #1 spot!
I remember Cunning of the cruel trinket in cataclysm being broken in arenas for atleast warlocks. AOE shadow dmg proc with low cd.
Deathbringers will is always close at mind when you hear trinkets, you knew it be on this video!
Left a guild I was loyal to for years because they gave that trinket to their buddy who wasn’t pulling near the amount of dps I was pulling.
@@jordansalinas4768 that is pretty sad
I'd love for someone to properly look into how overpowered Warriors' Diamond Flask with + Healing could be in Classic (and Vanilla) could be. It makes use of the snapshotting 'feature' mentioned in this video where if you change into +Healing Gear before combat, pop Diamond Flask then you can Heal for ~1,000 hp (if you had +1,000 healing) every 5 seconds for 60 seconds. Surely that's gotta be up there, especially for a class that specifically doesn't have self healing.
I may not play WoW anymore, but I love your videos on trinkets and mounts and such. Great job.
I remember getting a ton of imps out on the council boss in ToT with 4 dooms ticking away
Edit: autocorrect
one trinket I remember loving was the darkmoon card: Maelstrom While a level 60 trinket, used it on a 70 hunter equipped with a druid staff and spammed wingclip.
I remember in legion post patch there were some trinkets that weren’t scaled down correctly and could do 20-30% of players overall damage in m+
I remember getting my 935 arcanocrystal let me tell you it was the only time I liked titan Foraging

Still have my deathbringer's will in my bank to this day! I miss you DBW!!!!
I'm late to reply on this one but HoJ was definitely not bis until naxx. Not even close
Was expecting Whispers in the dark to be in the list, since it got nerfed twice in order not stay BiS throughout the expansion.
same was alittle confused why that one was not on the list
Didnt want 2 trinkets from the same raid and boss on the list.

Lightning Capacitor from TBC Kara is why internal cooldowns exist. It had no internal cooldown in its original iteration making it completely broken for every AoE situation esp PvP
draught is pronounced as draft. it's an old style of british spelling which is synonymous with elixir or flask or another small vial of liquid

What addon is the bar near the middle of the screen with cooldown icons at 6:50?
True some zg trinkets were broken af I remember having my charm of beasts on my hunter and god damn it was nasty
I love when items transcend expansions, or at least patches within one. It's so sad that each tier completely steamrolls the next for unique items like this, in the vast majority of cases.
font of power right now, just saying ;P
also in my opinion the current tank trinkets kinda suck when compared with the one from ashvane
If the new tier wasn't just strictly better then the old you would have no reason to run it.
i absolutely hate when items transcend expansions, if you have something so powerful you keep it thorught whole next expansion, its op and should be changed, it makes loot obsolete, like the druid hat in vanilla and the mace with haste from gnome
Absolutely busted.

it was bis for rogues too, no matter what i got that trinket always simmed higher. I had the same thing happen with razor coral and ashara trinket

@@Fr33mx You clearly don't know what are you talking about, it was so powerful that they nerfed it multiple times and some spec were outright broken with it. So yea get your facts straight before talking bullcrap. Other trinkets were shit? Yea i bet Bloodthirsty Instinct and Chrono Shard, not to talk about Arcanocrystal cries in the corner with a 955 proc.
Exactly there is some misinformation on this video
Eh, I had DBW and just ran less armor pen so the proc would cap me. Still simmed higher that way. Of course I had to completely redo my gear like a month later because they changed it :|
I was a little surprised to not see Cunning of the Cruel on the list, I remember running it in RBGs in Cata with the legendary staff. Staff proc off the trinket and sending a second wave of shadow bolts and wiping a full 10 man RBG team on its own before the nerf. Trinket would hit for 30-45k when even tanks at this time had only 50-60k hp
Its nice that there are trinkets from every expnsion on this list
(It had a baseline damage of 126k, my record self buffed was 800k, and with external buffs.. well its in the video below)
I made my first pvp video with this trinket.. I recommend taking a look because I think it actually went under the radar for most of WoD.
th-cam.com/video/j99xZknp4Hc/w-d-xo.html
Shadow priests were even more broken with the vision of lei shen trinket, I believe it was shadow word: pain crits that would spawn shadowy apparitions, which at the time would extend the duration of your dots, so it was possible for you to have your dots on a boss for the entire fight critting 100% of the time
I love and hate how you say some words incorrectly on purpose. Gets people commenting and i think you know that. Gj
Was pretty hilarious
i remember having DBW on my full armor pen'd socketed arms warrior. Pvp was fun :D
not for the person on the recieving end... i have this absolutely clear memory of doing 2s as a rdruid with pretty much full Wrathful set and this fucking dwarf prot warrior charges me, stuns me and i die in 3 secs...
but honestly it was great, as a feral it was so fucking tasty
Shadowmourne armor pen capped warriors with dbw proc and a shaman pocket healer sweeping strikes up bloodlust and windfury... my priest would just flop over. Sometimes they'd kill my rogue and I at the same time
@@kylehaun8192 Wrath's windfury was useless. I gave only 10% haste.
Deathbringer's Will is something I'll always remember. Armor pen capped on a fury warrior wearing leather gear and suddenly topping charts
Remember this guy who raided with us back then. Fury Warrior, Shadowmourne, and DBW. Had some scary numbers on the charts.
Really surprised there wasn't a mention of the Rune of Reorigination.
Love your videos, the nostalgia it give about when WoW was still good.
The fact that Cunning of the Cruel is not on this list is insane, back in cata you literally could not get a spot in a RBG without it and was mandatory for 2k plus spell cleaves
Chase South I remember having a fully max geared ele shammy and I could shot a whole raid team with that trinket if the procs lined up lol
Yeah that’s the first one that came to mind after I watched this also.
yeah definitely expected that as well, wasn't rare for it to do at least a third of your damage in arena. It was pretty much the caster version of the vial and even got a similar nerf so probably should have been mentioned together with it.
talking about broken trinkets, socretar in hellfire citadel drops the "soul capacitor" trinket which would stop all your damage outwards and then deal all damage you dealt during the trinket proc in a single hit, now late in legion i discovered that the trinket works on critters scaled damage, so you would essentially oneshot anyone near you after the trinket ended, resulting in world boss oneshots aswell on my 101 character when 110 was the maximum
the tricky part was finding a critter it worked on as well as time the trinket proc (which was already hard to proc, 0.2 procs per minute or similar) and all this near the world boss, i sent ticket to blizzard and they took around 3-5 months to fix this bug which was hillarious to oneshot world bosses as well as players in pvp if you could line up all the required combo
be in combat with angry 110 hordes, have a lucky proc, find a critter, wait the 10 seconds required for trinket to pop, boom 110 guy dead. all while a 110 horde is hitting you as a 101 twink.
Surprised he didn't include the tank heirloom from WoD. It was so good, they had to nerf it in bfa since the absorb was higher than a lot of health. And used to be unspeakable in time walking.
I had that on my tank warr. Oh boy i could pull
On release dragonspine trophy had no icd. It also had no attack power so it got overlooked. A lot of the tier 4 level gear was really bad on release before it got buffed.
Ey where's my boi Carrot on a stick?
DBW Procs:
1 Vrykul (Haste or Agility)
2 Taunka( Strenght or Attack Power)
3 Iron Dwarf Critical
As for Armor penetration on this trinket it doesn't proc it has flat 155 arpen
That's about it ;)
I like how the video is split for every spot in this list. Also, I have a message for 69.4% of the people who are not subscribed: Just subscribe guys. I've watched the channel for over 5 years, and honestly, the guy has really good content with decent editing...
...oh hello btw nice to see that the channel is growing Hiru...
Wow thats a long time, thanks!
Yeah bro hiru rocks, been watching since timeless isle
Two things about this video. One is about the cyclotronic blast trinket, it was also affected by things like a disc priests schism so also doing 30% more through the trinket. Also another thing that might have been worth looking into is the rune of re-origination making feral druids completely broken and unbalanced when they went for a mastery steroid. Other then that great video!!
Damn, I miss the Crystal + Prophecy of Fear combo :(
So do I :/
I totally forgot about the crystal! And I played mage in that expansion as my first alt (who cleared at least half the raid on mythic as well, or even more)
@@littlesunshine9218 HFC was the first and last raid tier I played arcane. I can't stand the way it is now
Cunning of the cruel, especially prenerf. I had the lfr version first week of the raid tier. I was dead in a Eye of the storm on my lock ressed and the trinket procs to the other side of the bg from some dots I left before I died, it oneshoted 2 players from 90%-0%
Wonder why Lightning Capacitor wasn't on that list?
what add-on do you use for your enemy name plates
Glowing Twilight Scale.
Surprised that this isn't here.
U mean that purple thing that dropped from a giant dragon in ...? (i cant remember the raid name)

Edit: Brooch should usually be pronounced the same as broach, it's just a different spelling.
so typical american mispronouncing english words due to poor english education?
Rogoth01 The Master Wizard it’s par for course with this guy tbh. At this point, I feel like it’s like a running inside joke he has.
Blame the American English language for "draught." The only time it's used in that spelling is for beer, but because it's used for a liquid, it makes sense (oxymoronically), to be pronounced like the word meaning lack of water.
Potato poteto tomato tometo
Same shit different hole
About Deathbringers;
- At that point ingame you are arpen capped so you want STR (if you are a pally, dk or warrior), AGI (if you are a cat, hunter or rogue) or ATTACK POWER (if you are enhancement).
Most of these can still be used in timewalking.
Yeah but with how fucked scaling is most of them aren't even good
@@jjrkiljay5537 i don't know if they changed that, but i healed a Ulduar timewalk in Legion and with Val'Anyr most of the raid was at all times bubbled. Played Holy Priest
@@eli-boy7473 TW scaling changes heavily between expansions just because of the stat/lvl/item squishes. On top of that blizz goes in and changes scaling between patches sometimes (twice in BFA so far), so what was good before can be anywhere from crap, same or better now depending on the item and TW expansion.
Darkmoon card blue dragon was also used for healers all through vanilla and BC, mindtap talisman was a blue trinket from dire maul west and it was bis all through vanilla
I'm surprised and disappointed Ashvane's Razor Coral is not on the list
does the bubble from scarab brooch stack on every heal you pump ?
Where’s the Six-Feather Fan that thing was more op than arcano in legion for a time
yeah also the darkmoon deck: Fathoms in bfa, that 355 trinket was used in dazar alor by some i remember
The thing that made Prophecy of Fear for arcane mage was 4pT17 bonus. 5 extra missiles per AM cast + PoF debuff on the crystal is what made it OP.
When talking about dragonspine you called Ian “Ion” lol
To be fair that's how he spells his name
That is his name
More of an "ee" sound at the beginning but Ion is how his name is spelled
Am i remembering something wrong ? Deathbringer's Will should not have a ARP proc right ?
You're right it didn't
"Stand by Ion control... FIRE"
Thx for this vid. Came here to check out trinkets for Legion timewalking mage tower
I have to fanboi a bit, Im sorry...
OMG HE DID MY VIDEO IDEA GNIHIHIHIHIH
The Aman'Thul Trinket was basically the Arcanocrystal on steroids... I remember the entire server getting mad af when i (as a tank) got it waaaay too early as one of the first
I have farmed it since week one until the start of BfA. Even now, it never dropped for me.
