- You want to play a cool rock n roll guitar in the style of Chuck Berry then this is a tutorial to go. By analyzing the intro of Johnny B Goode By Chuck Berry we're also checking out his song Roll Over Beethoven you get the main ideas how to play a solid and punchy rock n roll guitar in the style of Chuck Berry. In this tutorial I first analyze the intro of Johnny be good for you and then I pull out the few ideas which work the best in any professional rock n roll guitar setting. I started my career as a professional guitar player in rock n roll bands such as a Jerry Lee Lewis and Elvis impersonator band so I know what I'm talking about because I played so many shows and I know what I am talking about and I can show you the tricks which I learned during this time.
You can download the tabs and the backing track in the HPCrazy Guitar Academy : www.hpcrazy.com/club.html

I can't find the backing track on the web site you know which one it is?
Just stumbled upon this. A brilliant tutorial. The best takeaway: stay consistent and be disciplined. I wish I learned this when I was young!

Wow, this is a must known piece! Great lesson, again!!
Yes it's a must have.... good that you mention it. Give's me an idea for tomorrows tutorial.

Hey there - yeah Chuck Berry is in fact a legend. :-)
I’m a beginner and it’s a great lesson. Thanks.
It may not be smooth jazz, but it’s brilliant as always. Many thanks, love it.
There will be smooth jazz again - dont worry :-) And this one is also cool :-)
My kind of music. I can play the intro to JBG. and I find you can use it in many contexts. Again it's the pentatonic. Great stuff
Yes the JBG Intro is in fact very useful - I survived one year only with that one in a professional rock n roll band. :-D
Great lesson, great story!
Thanks Cor :-)

Brill lesson
Thanks David.
I didnt find any backing tracks at the link uou referenced.
Hey there - this is an older tutorial so the old backing track has been removed. But you find a new version of it here : www.hanspeterkruesi.com/members/topic/3086-rock-n-roll-guitar-chuck-berry-style
Hello, great guitar playing and very informative but it would be great if you could slow it down just a bit for less experienced players. Thanks!
Thats a good tip - I try to make things slower on certain lessons. It's always a mixture between teaching for beginners and more advanced players. But you can review what I did in the tabs - www.hpcrazy.com/club.html
@@Hpcrazy Wow, first I want to say thank you and I am impressed that you read my comment and replied so quickly too. I understand that it is difficult to try to give these lessons to a group of people that range from beginner to advanced and I’m probably in between. Your tutorials are very helpful and I appreciate your providing them to us for free no less! Keep up your great work a thanks again!
@@Doowopsid Hey Doowopsid - yes thats the main difficulties to somehow cover different playing levels. I think together with the tabs available it good for everybody - more or less... :-)
Boomer take, but the major and minor pentatonic scales and the various ways you can alter them when playing done right is so satisfying!
I can't seem to find the backing track for lesson under chuck berry
You find it here - available for premium members : www.hanspeterkruesi.com/members/topic/2693-chuck-berry-rock-n-roll-guitar
