Rock and Roll guitar lesson 1950s guitar riffs - เพลง
This is my favorite color and layout for a telecaster, sweet guitar!
Thanks for watching Miles - I love this guitar. All the best, Simon

@@allstarlord9110 Boom! Thanks.
@@fritzwalter1540 Yeah, i think that's the reason why i find first wave punk bands like The Clash, or Stiff little fingers much more interesting than the hardcore punk bands of the 80's, they were more authentic, mixing different sounds and ideas, while having a strong foundation in rock n roll. Greetings from Greece, stay healthy as well
@@fritzwalter1540 Absolutely! All of this!
Dude. Super useful. Soooo many applications for these. Thanks! Subbed!
Hi Alex, thanks glad this helped. I should do another one of these videos, there are a lot of these riffs which come in handy. See you in another lesson soon. Cheers Simon
Awesome video. Had to watch twice to absorb it all. This is a must watch for anyone wanting to play the classics. I'm going to pull my 339 out in a bit and have a go at these. Another ace lesson Simon. Thanks.
Hey Mark, that's very kind - I'm glad you enjoyed it. See you soon Simon
Great! 50th Rock’n’Roll just my kind of music. I’ve been playing rhythm-guitar in a “hoppy-band” for some years now, a would love to learn playing some solo - this is a understanable and “relaxed” way for me - Thank you! Greetings from Denmark.
Hej der, jeg er glad for, at videoen hjalp. Abonner på regelmæssige lektioner. Der er en ny hver uge. Vi ses snart! Alt det bedste, Simon

Thanks, great little tips!
I've played rhythm and bass for 35 years, but I'm a singer first and foremost. I now find myself having to play lead on the songs I'm recording, these will help spice things up instead of just going over and over the major and minor pentatonics the whole lead break!

Hey there, found your video by searching for 50s rock n roll licks on google, the search engine has blessed you, lol :D
Doing some composition work for some quick jingles, and this was a great refresher on some of the best tools in the 50s rock kit.
Only beef with the video was that you introduced your dominant 7 chords as rootless. I work in Jazz and that's pretty standard, but it just dawned on me that, as this video seems to be catered to beginners, rootless named chords might get a bit confusing for them. Maybe throw in a quick disclaimer about the nomenclature of rootless chords?
Great video, all in all. Thanks so much.
Hey Ace Omen, thanks! I'm glad that the lesson helped. I take your point on the rootless chords, yeah maybe I should have pointed that out. How do I bluff my way around soloing over Giant Steps? Seriously, great lesson.
Haha. Ask Tommy Flanagan?
May as well call it Johnny b Good lesson and call it a day
Hey Baby Blue, sounds like the lesson didn't help. I'm sorry to hear that. There are definitely some Chuck Berry riffs in there. I'd love to hear what other things you'd like to hear discussed - for me Chuck Berry is rock and roll, so maybe I'm biased.

@@SimonMorelguitar Chuck Berry is rock n roll for me as well, but I don’t want to start a Chuck Berry tribute band, I’m just looking for some riffs and rhythm lessons from the 60s and 50s rock that isn’t Johnny b Good
Go go!
@@onlyinmiles9195 It wasn't all Johnny B Goode though!
I mean straight away it was a lick based on Carol! I don't think you know much about Chuck Berry, he did have more than one song you know! Plus, the licks here have been used by other guitarists for decades, in many different styles of Rock Music.
If you can't benefit from this video, I pity the punters at your gigs! 🤪
@@Dave-Rough-Diamond-Dunn Read my second comment I said I don’t want to start a Chuck Berry tribute, the title of this video is 1950s riffs not Chuck Berry riffs I was a little disappointed.
Who said RnR was simple? That chromatic stuff over A7/D7/E7 (was it lick 3 or 4?) is genius. It SOUNDS simple and dirty as it should, but....
Hey James, thanks for watching. I'm glad it helped you out! I'm feeling I should record part 2 to this with more riffs. Stay tuned. Subscribe and hit the bell for notifications of 2 new lessons every week. All the Best, Simon
Johnny B Goode lesson lol (but it was helpful for learning the song haha)
