Just came across your Chuck Berry video, out standing ! Thank you, from a 73 year old that loves Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lews and more. I played a gig in Charlotte, N.C. with Little Richard in 1966. I love the Blues, 50's, 60's and 70's rock n roll, Dylan, Prine etc. Your videos are very helpful. Thanks, Bob
Absolutely outstanding! All excellent, especially the camera angles on the close ups which show the fingers and the strings as they are fretted. Thank you, and cheers!
Ha ha, yes, some of these licks have a slightly aggressive edge to them, but they're also a lot of fun to play, especially with a band in front of a dancing crowd. Thanks for watching Caleab, I'm glad that you enjoyed it.
Thank you! I knew much of what you related, but there were some jams that were completely new to me… And that’s not even counting the licks you taught. Thank you so much for doing this! Very grateful.
Here's to more rainy days so we get more videos!! Love the break down of not only the licks (pdf included!), but background and culture too. Great video. Cheers!
I have been watching a great many guitar teachers on TH-cam in the last few days, but you are, by far, the kindest, warmest personality and a fantastic teacher all the way around. These lessons are so accessible and easy to understand. Thank you so much for this effort, and I'm off to view your other videos. Again, thanks so much for all you do.
You talk to us like we are sort of dumbs. But you know what? I like it and I like you. Very clear and straightforward guide to Chuck guitar playing!!! 10++++++
Love it, very cool, thanks for showing us, I Love Chuck & his style, since I was 10. Cruellest hand I think life has dealt me is that I have no ability for music, I love Blues Rock, I appreciate most types & styles of music, but I wish had your ability. Lucky you & thanks for sharing.
You're welcome, many thanks for watching. But contrary to popular belief, no-one is born with musical ability. It takes a lot of work. Get yourself a guitar and a good teacher, clear the next two years, and you'll be surprised at what you can achieve. Good luck!
I loved that Chuck Berry "Medley" at the end. Great licks. I saw the ole "Chucksta" about 5 years ago, it was a benefit Concert (Boston). Good time. 5 STARS! --Van
Superb! So many guitarists know how to play, but can't teach worth a damn. Thanks for slowing down the tempo and showing us those great fingerboard close-ups. R.I.P. Chuck
nice lesson brother videos like these spread his legacy and may he rest in peace thinking that his songs will never die and licks wills always play in memory of him nice lesson
This format, (normal speed lick, great closeup slow lick, staff and tab) should be employed by the legions of well-meaning posters whose tutorials are unfortunately so poorly produced they are a waste of digital space. Thanks for presenting the lesson so effectively.
I could listen to these riffs for hours, thanks. Incidentally you are a spitting image of my brother in law, though with no hair and a S London? accent
Great Stuff ! . you dont look angry, btw. just really into your playing. love your smiling knowing your giving real happiness to blues lovers. Peace my brother !
I think this is an excellent instructional video and a lot of it has to do with an EXCELLENT camera angle for the close-ups! Never saw anyone make it easier to understand than you, Pete, and you have a great teaching style, too! I'm a Yank who had a 3.5 year run in London and HAD to come back; Lived up North London in Gospel Oak (betwixt Hampstead and Kentish Town) Where from South London do you live? (Living in the North, I didn't get south of the Thames much!)
This guy deserves some love
Thanks Bob.
The more the better 🙂
Skunk Baxter said, "At some point, every guitarist has to pass through the 'Chuck Berry Portal'".
Too true!
Love this quote! 🎸❤️
Allways nice when someone actually knows how to explain it.
Great job Pete
Very nice of you to say so, +John Wolfs, thanks.
Probably the most helpful video I've seen on Chuck Berry Riffs
Thanks!

Thank you Pete! It's been very useful to me, and the close up of the hands on the fret showing all is very important.
