man, I want to fly at satellite lake one of this days. I just love all the space you have. no buildings, no houses, no wires. no poles, no nothing. absolutely love it.
The camera down is a great feature esp to find home again. I just got the controller board and transmitter for the quad on banggood and will install it in my Syma X8W chassis. This model seems to be what the Bayangtoys X16 wanted to be. Thanks for your effort to help inform.
This looks like one cool Quad. The horizontal moving Gimbal is a great idea and seems to work great. Those lights at night are awesome and new feature I would love to see on more quads. Nice job
Great videos Quadcopter101!!! It is because of you and your videos that I have got into quadcopters. Been flying for a few months and really love it. Thanks again and keep the videos coming ;)
Nice quad 101 .. I have the SJ 4000 camera but it's no comparison to the Yi action camera with the uv filter installed hands down the Go Pro killer .. same Sony electronics inside you should get one I think you will be impressed
+Rick Gunter You might want to check out the new Git2, it feels and looks like a Xiaomi successor to some extent, basically the same cam (sensor). But with a gyro digital stabilizer, screen and mic-in. Pretty interesting piece of kit, at twice the price with all extra those toys in there... And unlike Xiaomi, it is GoPro shaped (compatibility). I'm just curious about the custom firmware scripts, if they will become available for this Git2 as well
As a camera drone the Bayangtoys X16 (brushless, altitude hold) might be the better choice over this one and the syma x8. If the brushless motors are good quality this quad will blow everything away. Hope you'll test it soon quad101.
Good (several) flights. Have to admit that on the 1st attempt, I was wondering if there was something wrong with the lens or the camera, but fortunately, you cleared that up in flight #2. When stationary, the video is decent, but the mount doesn't seem to be able to eliminate jello or shake. The motors do sound like X8 motors; glad they chose those instead of the dreaded N50 Tarantula motors. Looking at the props, I wonder if they are attached like the X8 (with the locking pin and cam holding it down on a splined shaft, with push on covers, or if those are screw on props, like the DJI Phantom uses? The stepper camera angle adjustment is a neat feature (can't really call it a gimbal, since it doesn't hold the camera steady relative to the quad bouncing around in the wind). Given the features, the $90 price tag is quite reasonable. Other features I liked were the labeling of the TX, the lights, the location of the on/off switch, and the ability to open the inside compartment. Thanks for the review ... looking forward to seeing what surprises 2016 will bring (already surprised at the huge price reduction by DJI and others in that class). Cheers!
Hey just wanted to say thanks for putting up with my comments and answering. Thanks to you I have decided to buy this quad and a cheaper learner one you featured. I will be waiting for the altitude hold and 300 meter distance feature that is supposedly coming soon along with battery and parts availability. I will be getting the Kai Deng K70F the FPV version. Also thanks for recommending the camera, I'm hoping it will lift the sj 5000. Impatiently awaiting your reviews of these new versions. This is a big deal for me I am a jungle explorer and boat builder in Thailand and this will help me feature my explorations on my channel and feature my new business boat building. I viewed at least 60 of your videos and many other channels and you were the best. Don't forget to have fun.Thai Sean, Walkertongdee channel.
Just noticed if you unscrew the original lens cover that states it is a 180 degree fish eye the original lens is exposed, might give a more realistic view of around 90 degrees. I have yet to try this.
Very nice. Like the idea that you can use any other camera that will fit. The mount needs some work to get rid of the jello. Wonder if you could put a light weight gimbal in place of theirs. Nice review. I am sure you will be experimenting with it. Thanks for the review.
+Skydive Driver The mount seems specifically designed to minimize jello for heavier action cameras (see tomorrow's video to see how well it works). The provided stock camera is for those who don't already own an action camera. Unfortunately, it's a little too lightweight to benefit much from the anti-vibration mounting points.
well i got it and being a newb i managed to put the props on the wrong way round as it dont mention prop sequence in the book but i realised something wasn't right but i sorted that, i managed to get her to get off the ground but am struggling to get it to hover. i suppose that will come in time, but for the price it is an excellent trainer and also a nice quat for exprrienced flyers. you cant beat that price.
+kempouk Due to its size and weight, this really isn't a good learn-to-fly quadcopter. It may be more fragile to crashes than a lighter/smaller toy quadcopter. That being said, the tutorials on the following site may be of help (best viewed on computer) quadcopter101.blogspot.com/2013/10/quadcopter-flight-school-tutorial-1.html
ah ok, well for that price if i blow it to bits im not to fussed, what would you recomend as a good quad to learn to fly with please. ps the battery takes hours to charge for only 8 minuets of flight, i ordered 3 more batteries, was that a good idea . thanks for the tip by the way.
kempouk I always recommend the Syma X5C for beginner fliers, due to its excellent stability, durability, and ease of flying. And it even has a camera too. Use it to learn the basics of flight with. Let this cheap quadcopter take the inevitable crashes and bangs of a beginner flier. And if you break it, every part on it is cheap, widely available, and easily replaceable. Later as your flying skills improve and you're not crashing as much, then consider something better/more expensive. th-cam.com/video/y93vzA-KRlM/w-d-xo.html
+Quadcopter 101 thank you very much sir for your help. I wasn't into quads before but came across your videos and now I'm hooked. keep up the excellent work I have subscribed and shared your channel. thank you again.
On the gimbal, can you just hold the button to move in either direction? Seems like that is why the difference in the number of clicks to switch the angle.
ken criswell I had the same trouble mate from what I see you and me are the only ones with this controller and no mention in the manual ? turn it on as the manual says when it looks bound press and hold takeoff 3 seconds release it and press again straight away that powers mine up , I just found out by just pressing everything on it 😃 hope this helps ya out pal .
By the way, nice touch adding the night flight at the end (including dog commentary)! That little feature just might sell me on it! :) By the way, how many UFO reportings got called in ;) hahaha.
Wow, what a beautiful remote! Okay, drone is nice too. I bet I can make it fly past 2 kilometers with antenna mod (my current record with Bayangtoys X8 is 1.1 km).
Hello Quadcopter 101 , The lightake page say real time FPV 5.8 wifi? Did your version have this feature? Thanks for all the multirotor reviews. Best Wishes!
There oughta be a law against having too much damn fun :D Would be interesting to see if this could haul a "GoPro-like" with the JIYI G3-3D. The Tarantula X6 has been capable of this as shown on Tigger's RC, without much issues for the motors it seems. Would also be interesting to see if it could work with a v666n board to get that altitude hold option for around 20 bucks...
This quad is going to be real hard to beat with performance and price! I have a friend that has a nano quad and he had a real hard time trying to fly it. The nano quad discouraged him from buying another quad and I need to tell him about this one since all he wants one for is to check his house gutters for leaves his excuse, and I'd bet he really wants to get into RC! :)
So, finally I can buy parts for my K70c quadcopter. Great. So I did. I bought some new landing gear, props and prop guards. Now mind you, I bought this thing almost two months ago and first initial flight, crashed and broke one landing leg. I was not happy. So I took off the camera and just practiced a few times with no landing gear. It worked great. Awesome response, fast and very agile. So now that I have a "complete" copter and I flew it, all of a sudden it makes this loud grinding kinda sound and nose dives to the right and smashes into the ground. Could the motor have gone bad ? I'm just glad that it was only a few feet off the ground.
hi great site. I got the new version yesterday it has the take off button press it and the blades start spinning then you put throttle in and it goes up rapidly. Throttle is set at half way so you can not close throttle completely you have to press the take off button for 3 seconds cuts motors . I hope you get one to look at its weird probably spoilt it.
What is a weight of this quadcopter without camera and blade protection frames? And what is a weight of this quadcopter with camera and without blade protection frames? In our country the registration limit is 500 grams, so maybe some configuration of this quad can match it.
This is a real good buy! I caught your last video and I think the camera weight helped get away from the jello? I am wondering if this camera is lighter and maybe lighter rubber bushings might be needed on the stock unit? All this quad needs is a barometric sensor to hold altitude. :) This is a great quad for the money and thanks for bringing it to my attention!
+Dennis Petersen I'm convinced it's the camera weight, and that the provided bushings are intended for GoPro style cameras. Most people toss the camera that comes with the Syma X8C, and replace it with their own better action camera. Kaideng may have been thinking ahead, and designed the mount specifically for GoPros and GoPro clones.
Hi +Quadcopter 101, I need a good suggestion from you .. What quadcopter do you suggest under 299gr with camera that have the best video quality and good extras like is altitude hold? ... im asking this because here in italy ENAC made not legal fly with quadcopter up to 300 gr... I have 2x 350pro and 1 Hex and a Cx 20 that i cant make fly agin for stupid low
Wow drone of my dreams!! I have a small commercial UAV business and I want to use this model strictly for real estate videography / photography. Would you recommend this over the x8c?? I have the x8c now but it doesnt have a landing skid like this sky warrior, nor a powered gimbal.
goodmorning mr 101!i had to have one of these after your review, awesome quad! got one but i am hearing now SOME people are having drop outs and fly-aways?they say the camera and gimble are the cause.is. that so or is it the area they are flying at.you dont seem to have those issues.what do you think?
I would like to know too I just purchased this model and I'm in San Antonio surrounded by bases and lots of houses I'm sure there will be interference. thanks!
katrina garza Hi,just to let you know...i fly the k70c with and without the stock camera all the time and i have no problems.I just did a simple antenna mod on the quad and receiver 1 day ago for safety sake and have had increased range because of the modification.Again though it is always safer to fly in somewhat remote area.good day to ya
the stock camera looked as good as the SJ cam in my opinion! just looked like the stock camera was so light the jello mount wasn't working! I bet if you added a little weight to the camera it would look just as good as a SJ cam!!?? what you think ?
+Full Metal Heli Hehe, no it really isn't ;) It's quite low on quality and only 720p even, that sensor just isn't up for the job when compared to the other budget cams. Seems like that cam is only 16bucks, so it is nice and cheap to replace when it crashes and breaks the cam... Xiaomi still has the clearest picture and widest gain and dynamic range, with that beast of a sensor. Git2 seems to be some kind of upgraded Xiaomi from what I can gather with same sensor and added toys (gyro digital stabilizer, screen, mic-in), at twice the price though!
With some of the new short range 5.8 MH video transmitters which attach to side of GoPro type cameras, wonder if anyone has tried using this with their FPV Goggles?
Does the gimbal work with GoPro clones or just the anti-vibration mount? We have yet to see a toy grade quadcopter that has a gyro stabilized gimbal. I just flew my Tarantula X6 with 1080p Wide angle lens camera. The wide angle lens really does make a difference! Thanks!
+Brian Evans It's not gyro stabilized. It's a motorized remote controlled mount sized for GoPro style camera. There is no stabilization other than the anti-vibration mounting points (which work very well by the way for heavier cameras than the stock camera).
+Brian Evans I take the below back about non camera version. I looked on the box, and apparently there is a K70 basic model (no camera). But sorry, I don't know of any vendor that is carrying it.
+Christophe Mourgues Yes, they had it. But this week is Chinese New Year, and it will not ship until after they get back from vacation next week. This i true for all Chinese e-commerce sites.
If it hd fpv I would definitely buy it. 101 is Syma x8c and m:tech sky drone pro the same as they have same features and look identical. I have the sky drone pro and was looking for a camera could you name any good ones for a good price? Thanks , Liam
Mr Q. I mentioned this in your other Kaideng video yesterday , Maybe there is 2 versions of this series , or it is a typo, but your tittle say's K70C but when following the link, we see K70H ? I understand the last letter most times signify's the presence of a particular option like camera vs non camera or wi fi ect.. But my confusion with this product is, The polished promo video and i believe one or both of your videos make's mention of it being a 7 volt quad, but the description info on lightake's page show's it to be a 3 volt quad? I really do hope its a LIGHTAKE typo and I did not just buy a 3 volt bird the size of a x8c! P.S. someone do a range mod or tx hack for the h11 please, Oh and is there anyway to correct or reverse the problem of quad's that jump bail (FLY AWAY) like with the X101?
+anyshitt Its LighTake's mistake in their listing and what version quadcopter this is. This is the "C" model with camera. There are a total of four different version, but not everyone carries them or plans to. 1) the basic K70 (no camera). 2) the K70C (with 720p camera), 3) the K70W (WiFi FPV and 0.3MP camera), and 4) K70F (5.8Ghz FPV and 720p camera). The battery is also 7.4V 2000mah 25C removeable (not built-in). I've alerted LighTake to the errors in their listing. Let's see how long it takes to correct them. And always remember to fly upwind when flying distant. Tomorrow's video will demonstrate why not to fly downwind (almost had a JJRC H25G flyaway ;)
I found the jello to be pretty bad considering that it has an anti-vibration mount. I couldn't tell from the video but are the rubber balls a little smaller than normal? Also did you balance the props? If the props are out of balance it might account for some of the jello.
Does the syma 8C motors work on the K70? I found some motors on duoduogood.com. Not sure if they are the original motors. I have contacted them and have not received an answer yet. Thanks
great looking quad, but those brushed motors might be an issue carrying a big camera around, but like I said it looks great. Camera is not great but stick an SJ4000 on it and it'll be all good.
Have enjoyed all your videos. I have a question for you. I'm lookibg to get a new drone, and I'm looking to spend around 300.00. im interested in FPV and GPS features for the new one. Do you have any suggestions? I have been interested in the H502s Advance. Have you any thoughts?
Paul Reed I would suggest a dji phantom 3. It is the old phantom but is still amazing. I believe it is on average 350 but you should be able to do some searching and find it for 300
Thank you 101. You don't mention if you replace the camera with GoPro etc if the TX will still work. Is there some mods required for a different camera?
+Ian McKay No mods required. Only my SJCam was a little thicker than a GoPro, and required a rubber band to keep it from sliding out of the camera mount. Here's how this quadcopter performs with GoPros or GoPro clones instead of the stock camera th-cam.com/video/7dzTKzV7U1w/w-d-xo.html
Do you think you could replace these motors with a brushless version? I'm sold on this quad, and I'm just looking to make a few things better. I like the size and stability of this model, and I have a small 12 mp camera that will fit perfectly. I like the altitude hold so I can focus on what I'm filming, but the non fpv is a down side. But for the price and size, I think its pretty amazing. Also, do you happen to know when the fpv version will be out? and will it also come with the gimble and how much will it be?
Hi, will a Runcam 2 fit if you use say Velcro straps or rubber bands. Or would you recommend another type of fitting for the Runcam. This being my only camera. Thank you.
Well here's how I hooked up my Runcam th-cam.com/video/waMYwaN7aCU/w-d-xo.html Here's how to make it, and you can velcro it, or wrap a velcro cable tie around the quadcopter's bod th-cam.com/video/PuNhiJAVum0/w-d-xo.html
OK after 25 days Lightake has let me know that they and their supplier don't have stock of this item. This hasn't stopped them from advertising it on the front page of their website however. So I would definitely think twice before buying.
+Matthew Starkey I apologize. I did not know that when I did these two reviews. Looking at other sites, it doesn't appear that any of the vendors will have these in stock until mid March. As it hasn't shipped, you can cancel your order, and then shop around for a better deal when it finally does arrive on vendor's shelves.
+David Smith This is the cheaper "C" camera version. The 5.8 Ghz K70F version is on its way from Banggood. I should be reviewing the FPV version within the next couple weeks.
Hello Quadcopter 101 I have been watching a lot of vidioes to see some of the better drones I really like this one so I ordered one on gearbeast but lately have seen more reviews that haven't been that great about this quad and am worried now should I have concern and between gearbeast and lightake which version is better thanks Jeremiah
It doesn't matter GearBest vs LighTake. What does matter is that they changed the design of the quadcopter to now include the altitude hold feature. This makes it easier to fly, but can also be problematic in the hands of a new flier. The motors of the new version always run at idle. It's extremely important to quickly shut them off in a crash or upside down landing. If you forget, the motors will try to continue running, and may overheat and burnout the motors, worse yet components on the flight control board. Here's the newer version with altitude hold. It's still a good quadcopter, but again it's very important to be aware to shutdown the motors immediately in a crash (this is true for just about all altitude hold quadcopters) th-cam.com/video/aZ_tTxc7atI/w-d-xo.html
Going off of your recommendation, today, I purchased the Kaideng k70c quadcopter. I'm new to the fold and I've seen a few of the reviews on your channel. You're pretty informative and I'm glad that I found your channel. Again, I'm new to the quadcopter community and I've researched at least 10 different copters. The K70c seems to be the perfect starter copter. However, I was wondering, I want to buy at least another battery or two and can't seem to find the exact specs for the plug on the battery that comes with it. Can you help me out with this. I've searched for the 7.4v 2000mah Li-po battery on eBay and Google but I'm not sure if they have the correct plug that the K70 requires. Any help is appreciated. And one more question ? What do you do with all of the quadcopters that you test ? You must have no space left in your house with all of these things.
+Blaine DeLorenzo its a red banan plug connector. And regarding the quadcopters, I don't keep them (don't have the storage space), nor do I sell them. After their reviews are completed, they are donated to local schools and charities (Toys for Tots and school STEM clubs).
+Quadcopter 101 Thanks for the info. And that's so awesome to donate them to the schools and Toys For Tots. Your reviews have helped me greatly in starting into this hobby. Thanks again.
very good video!!!! however, I'm undecided between "kaideng k70c and syma x8g" flying time? Control distance? for you, what the best ? Help me please! thanks
+freddy germe The X8G has a better 1080p camera. If you don't already have an action camera (GopPro or GoPro clones), then X8G. But if you already own GoPro or clone, then K70C.
can you still use the record button when you switch to a GoPro? thank you very much for posting the video. I now know what quadcopter to choose without getting a loan on my house lol
+PoorBoy Garage and vlog No. Manually start the GoPro recording before takeoff, and stop the video after landing. Then use video editing software to cut unneeded parts.
I have a question about the 400 foot altitude limit does that limit start at sea level or for example starting from a mountain that's 2000 feet does your 400 feet limit start there.
+altruistic No you have to dig a 2000 foot deep hole and fly from the bottom. It's terrible if you live in the Rockies because you'll need some serious shovels... Sorry, I couldn't resist. ;)
I received mine defective from the factory. I did not fly it a single second. I have tried troubleshooting it and noticed that one motor was getting hot. Where can I find cheap replacement motors for this quadcopter? Can I use Syma 8 motors as they seem to be easily available and are pretty cheap?
X8C motors might work, but why do that when replacement motors are already available for the K70C? See this link shrsl.com/?~cl24 But really recommend making a short video clearly showing the problem, then contacting your vendor's customer service with a link to this video to give them a chance to resolve this issue.
I have done just that. I will upload the video and show GearBest what the issue is. In the meantime, I have ordered a motor from the link you have provided. Thanks
Finally got mine. I'm having trouble controlling it in a turn. It will be stable pointed straight ahead, but when I turn, it goes shooting out much further than commanded. None of my other quadcopters have this problem, even in the wind. Is mine defective? The Kaideng is the largest quadcopter I own, so I'm not sure if this is typical of larger ones.
Yes, but I think I'm not used to the large turning radius. I fly in a kind of small space with lots of trees around. The trim seems to be the main issue; if I trim it to stay stationary in a fairly weak wind and then turn it off that heading, wow, it shoots off like crazy off to the side of the normal turn radius. None of my other quadcopters act like that once they are trimmed. Maybe one of the gyros is defective? It will only do a complete yaw spin like you do to test the yaw rate if all the trims are centered.
tomknack Did you try calibrating the gyros? 1) Turn on the quadcopter and place it on a flat and level surface. 2) Turn on and bind the transmitter. Center all trim tabs. 3) Leaving the quadcopter undisturbed, move and hold both control sticks to their lower right corners. Hold them there until the quadcopter's lights blink. If they don't blink, then try lower right corners, lower outboard, or lower inboard until you notice the lights blink. 4) Let go of the sticks and try flying.
Hi Quadcopter 101 So after flying my Syma x8c today i broke it as it flew away and i burnt it motors, they all work but the drone won't fly anymore.. so what do u suggest i get for some good Ariel photography? the MJX 101 or the Trantula x6 or this drone? I am planing on lifting either a RUNCAM or maybe an Xioami....please giv a detailed response asap :)
+Jordy Larrea 1 regarding the x8c,only my motors are the problem right? i saw smoke coming out of the motors and now all the blades turn but the drone won't lift up! so any set of motor (A and B) even on ebay would work?
any idea where to get parts? TX does not have particularly good range. I lost signal & crashed from altitude. Broke one arm connector bracket and on/off switch.
+Mike Brisky Almost. Same connector, same width, slightly thinner. But the X8C's battery is just a little too long to fit in the battery bay. But you could remove the battery door and just strap the X8C battery partially into the bay with a rubber band or velcro strap. It should work.
Hi again quadcopter 101 I am just about to order one I used the link in your video, but I want to order extra batteries - will it accept the syma x8c batteries? if not what's the connection, thanks if you see this
hi quadcopter 101 i have a question in regards to lightage ive just ordered a Kaideng K70C Sky Warrior Drone the problem is ive seen alot of bad reviews about this lightage company about people getting ripped off and scammed can you put my mind at rest
I've never heard of Lightage? You mean LighTake? But yes, they're legitimate. But no better or worse than most China vendors. It's going to take three to four weeks for your quadcopter to cross the ocean by boat, clear customs, enter your local country's postal service, and arrive at your door. If you have issues with the quad, its best to make a short and clear TH-cam video of the problem to help overcome the language barrier with customer service. Finally, Paypal or credit card dispute if the issue is unresolved.
have just received mine in the mail and the props weren't installed on delivery. quick question. I have two sets of propellers ( A and B). In which order do i install them as it doesnt list these instructions In the manual. much appreciated guys and gals.
+Ben Goulding Take a close look at the following picture, paying attention to the shape of the propellers, and which arms they are installed on. Make yours look the same img.banggood.com/images/oaupload/banggood/images/8F/A9/7729aad4-e442-44eb-a57f-0d0158b56f2e.jpg
+Quadcopter 101 thanks for that reply. Have now figured it out and for those that have the same issue, the A props go front left and rear right and the B props go front right and rear left.
2.4ghz fpv Wi-Fi will mess with any quad using 2.4 for the radio so yes, if you use the wifi from an action cam for fpv your quad will become unstable and might fly off. never use Wi-Fi with any quad. add a fpv system. mine cost less than $150 and there's no lag as you'll see with action cam Wi-Fi
+Silky Smooth I'd go with Syma X8G as currently the K70C seems to be having some quality control issues. Once Kaideng irons out these problems, then I'd consider the K70C as it is an awesome quadcopter when it works right.
+quadcoptersdr 1) Turn on the quadcopter and place it on a flat and level surface. 2) Turn on and bind the transmitter. Center all trim tabs. 3) Leaving the quadcopter undisturbed, move and hold both control sticks to their lower left corners. Hold them there until the quadcopter's lights blink. If lights don't blink, try lower right corners. 4) Let go of the sticks and try flying.
Hi, actually it is K70H or K70C ? I'm quite confuse about this. In the video you said K70H but the title shows K70C. What's the difference ? I searched on many online shop website and all of them shows K70C, i have never seen ppl selling K70H. Can explain on this? Thank you very much:)
Thanks Man :) There's 3 Drones I think about buying: Lian Sheng SKY Hunter, SYMA X8G, and the CHEERSON CX-20 Which in your opinion is the better overall drone for people with average flight experience? (I watched today's video that drone is pretty cool too)
+Dylan Vane The CX20 has GPS and brushless motors and therefore is different from the other two. But if you were to choose between the X8 and the LS-128, go for the X8 since it has better flight time(12-14min vs 7min) and has larger more powerful motors. The 128 uses tarantula X6 motors which are known to burn out very quickly usually after 20 flights. But the 128 is more sporty flier whereas the X8 is mainly for aerial filming. So the flight characteristics are another factor to consider if you're concerned about that.
+Dylan Vane I went from a Syma X5 to a Syma X8 and then on to the Cheerson CX-20. I'm glad I went to the X8 before I went to the CX-20. The CX-20 is a complicated beast that requires some tinkering and is pretty advanced. This K70H though, looks like a far better substitute for the X8.
+Wobble Copter Yeah, the MJX X101 kinda had that idea of shorted and more to the side front motors, which kinda worked if you positioned the camera properly. They basically took the next step for this one, good to see...
It is refreshing to see some well thought out improvements in a toy quad
And congratulations on the well deserved 50k subs
man, I want to fly at satellite lake one of this days.
Very cool, definitely will look into this K70C, I wonder how hard it will be to find rotor blades for it?
well i got it and being a newb i managed to put the props on the wrong way round as it dont mention prop sequence in the book but i realised something wasn't right but i sorted that, i managed to get her to get off the ground but am struggling to get it to hover. i suppose that will come in time, but for the price it is an excellent trainer and also a nice quat for exprrienced flyers. you cant beat that price.
6:27 bug hits the camera causing the smudge. this quad is so cool but not on sale in the UK. :-(
+kempouk You can get it online shrsl.com/?~b8rr
+Quadcopter 101 link don't work :-(
kempouk Try it again tomorrow. Sometimes they momentarily go out for a day.
I am waiting for the FPV 300mm version coming out in March. Are spare batteries available yet?
On the gimbal, can you just hold the button to move in either direction? Seems like that is why the difference in the number of clicks to switch the angle.
+Stacey Abshire you have to click it each time, seven down and four up.
ken criswell I had the same trouble mate from what I see you and me are the only ones with this controller and no mention in the manual ? turn it on as the manual says when it looks bound press and hold takeoff 3 seconds release it and press again straight away that powers mine up , I just found out by just pressing everything on it 😃 hope this helps ya out pal .
Your other video where you use the SJ4000+ cam looks a lot better. Is it also a different gimbal / camera attachment?
With motors being almost the same as the X8C can we use the same propellers from Syma? Just worried about spare parts.
+Quadcopter 101, do you know if they sell a camera-less version?
Hello Quadcopter 101 , The lightake page say real time FPV 5.8 wifi? Did your version have this feature? Thanks for all the multirotor reviews. Best Wishes!
+UltraOffie No, that is in error. The link above is for the standard camera version (no FPV).
There oughta be a law against having too much damn fun :D
Would be interesting to see if this could haul a "GoPro-like" with the JIYI G3-3D. The Tarantula X6 has been capable of this as shown on Tigger's RC, without much issues for the motors it seems. Would also be interesting to see if it could work with a v666n board to get that altitude hold option for around 20 bucks...
This quad is going to be real hard to beat with performance and price! I have a friend that has a nano quad and he had a real
hard time trying to fly it. The nano quad discouraged him from buying another quad and I need to tell him about this one since all
he wants one for is to check his house gutters for leaves his excuse, and I'd bet he really wants to get into RC! :)
+Dennis Petersen that excuse is brilliant though, seems totally legit :P
I believe the shape and style with the front arms back like that is called the dead cat configuration
Hello sir looking through some threads I see some issues with range ? Do you know if that has been solved ?
+Blaine DeLorenzo Bad motor or dirt in the gears.
+Quadcopter 101 It seems to hover just fine and no noise but as soon as I change flight direction, that's when it happens
+Blaine DeLorenzo I just ordered 4 new motors and 2 drive shafts, just in case.
hi great site.
I am wondering
if this camera is lighter and maybe lighter rubber bushings might be needed on the stock unit? All this quad needs is a
barometric sensor to hold altitude.
Hi +Quadcopter 101,
I need a good suggestion from you ..
Super Insider Information about the replaceble syma parts. Really importand thing is that. Good vids, always getting me in a good mood.
Wow drone of my dreams!! I have a small commercial UAV business and I want to use this model strictly for real estate videography / photography. Would you recommend this over the x8c?? I have the x8c now but it doesnt have a landing skid like this sky warrior, nor a powered gimbal.
Do you think this could hold a G 2d gimbal and a gopro? And have you ever considered getting a microphone? Love the vids!
goodmorning mr 101!i had to have one of these after your review, awesome quad! got one but i am hearing now SOME people are having drop outs and fly-aways?they say the camera and gimble are the cause.is. that so or is it the area they are flying at.you dont seem to have those issues.what do you think?
I would like to know too I just purchased this model and I'm in San Antonio surrounded by bases and lots of houses I'm sure there will be interference.
thanks!
katrina garza
Hi,just to let you know...i fly the k70c with and without the stock camera all the time and i have no problems.I just did a simple antenna mod on the quad and receiver 1 day ago for safety sake and have had increased range because of the modification.Again though it is always safer to fly in somewhat remote area.good day to ya
I saw this on LighTake but wasn't sure about it.
Thanks for helping me make up my mind.
+Del Quad4X Make sure to watch tomorrow's video also.
+Quadcopter 101 Will do
the stock camera looked as good as the SJ cam in my opinion! just looked like the stock camera was so light the jello mount wasn't working!
+Kouji82 /Borgman. that was before i actually got one of these. was just basing it off of both of his videos
With some of the new short range 5.8 MH video transmitters which attach to side of GoPro type cameras, wonder if anyone has tried using this with their FPV Goggles?
really enjoy your reviews, very entertaining and informative.
But sorry, I don't know of any vendor that is carrying it.
love the videos, was wondering if it files out of range or loses signal will it drop or will it fly away?
Nice review....i just bought it from your link......i hope they have it in stock because in banggood and gearbest it's only on presale .
+Christophe Mourgues Yes, they had it. But this week is Chinese New Year, and it will not ship until after they get back from vacation next week. This i true for all Chinese e-commerce sites.
You are the best reviewer !
P.S. someone do a range mod or tx hack for the h11 please, Oh and is there anyway to correct or reverse the problem of quad's that jump bail
(FLY AWAY) like with the X101?
+Quadcopter 101 flying against for sure.. if and when I loose binding? the wind is an allie and not adversary..
thanks Q..
Nice video, just bought mine. Let you know what I think in a couple weeks. Thanks for all the great videos, keep up the good work.
Hey, very nice review!Ithink about getting one too!Do you know how fast this quadcopter can fly? I dont find any information about thatCheers!
A lot of good things going on with this quad. Smooth, strong and stable flight. Do they have an FPV version with monitor?...NOT wifi please
+sirhilsam Yes, and it's on its way for review ;)
(happy new-quad-dance)
I found the jello to be pretty bad considering that it has an anti-vibration mount. I couldn't tell from the video but are the rubber balls a little smaller than normal? Also did you balance the props? If the props are out of balance it might account for some of the jello.
+StarShep The balls are tuned for heavier GoPro style cameras. Watch tomorrow's video with my SJCam. Virtually jello-less.
is there any way to increase the range of this quad? If so that would be great.
Very nice light show with those LEDs.
This is another game changer in the toys division boys and girls, awesome video. =)
I haven't been able to find a lost transmitter contact reaction anywhere? Is this a flyaway Qc?
Does the syma 8C motors work on the K70? I found some motors on duoduogood.com. Not sure if they are the original motors. I have contacted them and have not received an answer yet.
Thanks
The GearBest description says it has "Air Pressure Altitude Hold" is that the regular Altitude Hold?
Yep, the design has been changed since this video. It now has altitude hold.
great looking quad, but those brushed motors might be an issue carrying a big camera around, but like I said it looks great.
Can't add brushless motors. But you can easily and cheaply add FPV th-cam.com/video/waMYwaN7aCU/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for the reply, il check out the link.
hey can you set up giveaways for some quads u don't use?
Hi, will a Runcam 2 fit if you use say Velcro straps or rubber bands. Or would you recommend another type of fitting for the Runcam. This being my only camera. Thank you.
Well here's how I hooked up my Runcam th-cam.com/video/waMYwaN7aCU/w-d-xo.html
Here's how to make it, and you can velcro it, or wrap a velcro cable tie around the quadcopter's bod th-cam.com/video/PuNhiJAVum0/w-d-xo.html
Great review! A GoPro can be mounted on that gimble?
+Eric K Yes, a GoPro or similarly shaped/domensioned GoPro clone as seen here th-cam.com/video/7dzTKzV7U1w/w-d-xo.html
interested in putting runcam but can't find noncamera version😵
Olá bom vídeo, é mais forte do que x8g? e os motores são fáceis de substituir? Como posso usá-lo FPV? Tanto para indicar barato? like+!
Any ideas where I can get parts? I need a new on off switch and a rear arm bracket attachment?
i noticed on the web site it said 5.8 fpv on the box. but didnt see it in the description.
+David Smith This is the cheaper "C" camera version. The 5.8 Ghz K70F version is on its way from Banggood. I should be reviewing the FPV version within the next couple weeks.
Any other one you would recommend or should I just go with the bugs 3
Thanks again.
very good video!!!! however, I'm undecided between "kaideng k70c and syma x8g"
flying time?
Thank you
I have a question about the 400 foot altitude limit does that limit start at sea level or for example starting from a mountain that's 2000 feet does your 400 feet limit start there.
+altruistic above the ground directly beneath it.
+Quadcopter 101 I see thanks.
See this link shrsl.com/?~cl24
But really recommend making a short video clearly showing the problem, then contacting your vendor's customer service with a link to this video to give them a chance to resolve this issue.
+tomknack do you include roll with yaw for a banked turn, or do you use yaw only?
+tomknack do you include roll with yaw for a banked turn, or do you use yaw only?
+tomknack do you include roll with yaw for a banked turn, or do you use yaw only?
Hi Quadcopter 101
So after flying my Syma x8c today i broke it as it flew away and i burnt it motors, they all work but the drone won't fly anymore..
so what do u suggest i get for some good Ariel photography? the MJX 101 or the Trantula x6 or this drone?
I am planing on lifting either a RUNCAM or maybe an Xioami....please giv a detailed response asap :)
just buy new motors that are like $14 for all of the motors on Amazon
+Jordy Larrea 1 regarding the x8c,only my motors are the problem right? i saw smoke coming out of the motors and now all the blades turn but the drone won't lift up! so any set of motor (A and B) even on ebay would work?
any idea where to get parts? TX does not have particularly good range. I lost signal & crashed from altitude. Broke one arm connector bracket and on/off switch.
+Quadcopter Reviews It's still a new quadcopter, but parts should be coming soon.
Looking forward to seeing tomorrow's video
Will a xt60 connector -to-Banana plug work to charge the kaideng k70?
I was wondering how your RunCam would work on this thing? :)
What happens if you go to far beyond its range? Does it just fly away, or does it return to home when it looses signal??
Do you know if the K70C used the same battery as the Syma X8C etc? - 3 x 7.4V 2000mah. Appears the plug(s) are the same
+Mike Brisky Almost. Same connector, same width, slightly thinner. But the X8C's battery is just a little too long to fit in the battery bay. But you could remove the battery door and just strap the X8C battery partially into the bay with a rubber band or velcro strap. It should work.
Hi again quadcopter 101 I am just about to order one I used the link in your video, but I want to order extra batteries - will it accept the syma x8c batteries? if not what's the connection, thanks if you see this
X8C battery is too large. K70 batteries are finally available here shrsl.com/?~chzk
Quadcopter 101
I'm english man in japan , love your videos, how many quods you got ?
Hi! I have one question. Do the website in the description that you bought the Kaideng from ship worldwide or just USA? Thanks!
Worldwide from China.
+Quadcopter 101 Oh that's awesome!
Nice vid! Have any video where you mount a GoPro to this?
How about a similar SJCAM? th-cam.com/video/7dzTKzV7U1w/w-d-xo.html
Awesome! Thank you :)
+Quadcopter 101 what do you suggest as a first real camera quad? I have an x5sc and want to move up :)
+GE Hoven This would be a good upgrade to the X5SC.
don't waste your money on this , get a dji or yunec 500
This quad looks cool but I'm from Poland and we don't have this quadcopter in any shops in Poland :/
hi quadcopter 101 i have a question in regards to lightage ive just ordered a Kaideng K70C Sky Warrior Drone the problem is ive seen alot of bad reviews about this lightage company about people getting ripped off and scammed can you put my mind at rest
Finally, Paypal or credit card dispute if the issue is unresolved.
ok thanks for the quick response i look forward to getting it ty for your time :D
have just received mine in the mail and the props weren't installed on delivery. quick question.
+eric GTX
I have heard there's issues with Wifi messing up the CX-20. Is that True? If it is I won't get it because of that.
2.4ghz fpv Wi-Fi will mess with any quad using 2.4 for the radio so yes, if you use the wifi from an action cam for fpv your quad will become unstable and might fly off. never use Wi-Fi with any quad. add a fpv system. mine cost less than $150 and there's no lag as you'll see with action cam Wi-Fi

which is the better quad: this, syma x8g or jxd 509g? thanks video quality and flying experience
+Silky Smooth I'd go with Syma X8G as currently the K70C seems to be having some quality control issues. Once Kaideng irons out these problems, then I'd consider the K70C as it is an awesome quadcopter when it works right.
Got this for my son. He flies in Mode 1 but we haven't found a way to switch. Is there a way?
+ Quadcopter 101 i lloovvee your vids!!! where do i get that thing?
+MLP Sapphire Hearts shrsl.com/?~b8rr
The manual does not show how to calibrate the K70 Sky Warrior. Can you help?
Thanks
+Thines Rao This is a K70C. LightTake lists it in error as a K70H.
Thanks Man :)
There's 3 Drones I think about buying:
Lian Sheng SKY Hunter, SYMA X8G, and the
CHEERSON CX-20
Which in your opinion is the better overall drone for people with average flight experience? (I watched today's video that drone is pretty cool too)
+Dylan Vane The CX20 has GPS and brushless motors and therefore is different from the other two. But if you were to choose between the X8 and the LS-128, go for the X8 since it has better flight time(12-14min vs 7min) and has larger more powerful motors. The 128 uses tarantula X6 motors which are known to burn out very quickly usually after 20 flights.
But the 128 is more sporty flier whereas the X8 is mainly for aerial filming. So the flight characteristics are another factor to consider if you're concerned about that.
If you're willing to spend $200 the cx-20 blows this away. not even close.
+Dylan Vane I went from a Syma X5 to a Syma X8 and then on to the Cheerson CX-20. I'm glad I went to the X8 before I went to the CX-20. The CX-20 is a complicated beast that requires some tinkering and is pretty advanced. This K70H though, looks like a far better substitute for the X8.
great viedo mate
which one this one or the mjx x101? ?
what is your opion pls
Clinton Mangion dude just get the x8g
N for Noah i was gonna get the x8. then i saw this drones range, motors, carry capacity, and flight time.
They really thought out the design on this one, nice!
+Wobble Copter It kind of has the same body of the new XK x500
+INTELMAXELL it really does..
+Wobble Copter Yeah, the MJX X101 kinda had that idea of shorted and more to the side front motors, which kinda worked if you positioned the camera properly. They basically took the next step for this one, good to see...
