I have a stack of brx2000's , brx2400's and brx640's . All the mono blocks have been beaten on HARD at .5 and none have failed! Even the 640 ab's have been ran below rated 2 ohms and all still work . They all have been retired for a while but i think they are my all time favorite series of amps.
I had the rare chance to work one of the HiFonics Colossus VII (Banned Edition) (2 amp 1 heatsink) the bridgeable one, was to make either board work if I could, and got 1 to work I did.
I like the Hifonics amps, glad to see these are rated alil better then some. The Brx usually do well, I keep seeing the ZRX but idk if there the same or not.
I repair amps so i can just about guess what power a amp will make by the total of caps the amount of power supply fets and amount of output transistors seems like a solid 2800 at 1 ohm what fuse rating do they recomend a 200 amp fuse?
I miss the old HiFonics classic look from the late 80’s to early 90’s for sure. Just a beautiful series. I’m not too keen on the naming convention in the newer years.
This is the EXACT layout of the Brutus BG 3300.1D, but idk why it's not putting out the same? Just a fyi for those who didn't know both of these are basically cloned from the Orion XTR 2500.1dz, yet the Orion dam near doubles what these put out. Which, I can not figure out either with my limited amp knowledge, but if I were to guess, I'd say they have different types of power supply circuitry or the fets are the limiting factor in the Hifonics? So HiFi Vector, how about you get that Orion and these 2 Hifonics test em one after another, and let's pop those backs off and try and figure out wtf is going on here? Just a thought for a cool video, and you haven't tested an Orion amp yet either?
You seem to know about Higonics amps, the question is what Hifonics amps are the real 4000 watt or the real power amps? I like the look too but I hate the lies about the 1 ohm test. I still have not seen one hifonics amp on dyno that hit all numbers.
This is not my zed audio hifonics from back in the day. Another glorified boss, maxxsonic POS. I don't care how heavy a heatsink is. It doesn't equate quality. You can get taramp 3k for that money, and it's not measured in magical unicorn watts. They could've put 2k and been honest. Dynamic power is power that it will do in a brief musical burst. You may as we'll go to Walmart and buy two power acoustic amps and save money and get the same power. Maxxsonic and epsilon should be ashamed of what they did to our dream amps from back in the day
I like your new toy the AD1
Have fond memories of the old school Hifonics. Always looking for good results on their new stuff.
My dad has a Hifonics 2000rms BRX2000.1D from about 10 years ago and it still works.
I love my old school BRX2008 things gonna be 17 years old this year and it’s still going strong as ever!

I love hifonics im glad u do reviews on this brand.
I see you leveled up with the AD-1. NICE 🎉👍
Dyno the 4 channel units as well 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
I personally like Hifonics... not the most watts per dollar but they are built well. In other words... I trust them.
Wow, i dig this one. It's cool housing .i was surprised there were strappable. I'm glad to see hifonic still making new stuff. Thanks for the reveiw .
Not bad at all. Excellent review appreciated as always ty sir
Thank you!
@@HiFiVector yes sir thank you
I had a 3200 Colossus it was a beast
Hifonics should have just rated the amplifier at 2500 watts at 1 ohms. 😏 Just my 2 cents.

This is $60 cheaper than the price Amazon originally showed before I clicked your link lol 12:22
This is a beautiful amplifier ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
🤦🏻

They recommend a 250a fuse on this model.
You ever had to to repair a Orion xtr.z 2500 just wondering. Love the amp never gets hot. I know I'm not giving the full voltage it needs.
New Ad-1?? Nice. Question. Does the dyno temp have any effect on the readings?
No the dyno temp will not effect the readings.
Please try the new hifonics BE40 amp

I hate this(not your comment)
I like it 😊
Good review man, and cool looking amplifier. Check out the Ocean Audio 1200.1 amplifier. Does over rated power, and it's less than $100 👍
Thanks! Will do!
Could you test HF 4000.1 35th aniversary ?
there is a half bridge version of this amp as well. i wonder how that pairs up
This is the half bridge version. Colossus “ classic” halfbridge …..colossus “pro” fullbridge .
@@HiFiVector yes your right.. i got mixed up. i knew there are two versions
Yea they came out with so many new amps all at once it does get a little confusing sometimes.
What's the difference between the HCC & the HAC?
Very nice for the price. You definitely need to test it at half ohms certified and I know it will hit 3000rms watts.
Dynamic .5 garauntee it's 3500+
Hopefully youbcan do Lower ohms
Would you be able to test the HCC 4200.1 ???
Probably not anytime soon.
I have a question. Is it okay to charge or jump start a car battery that has speaker amplifiers attached?
Yes.

That's the smallest Colossus I have ever seen even smaller than the Son of Colossus amps. I have owned Series VIII, X (SOC) XI and XX. Cool video
Thank you
Before i watch i hope this amp is a high power full bridge.
so basically. if you want the hifonics 3000 watt amp, get the next model UP because they do not do rated.
Correct

The new colossus pro amps do rated power. I have a few and I have the 5k version and That is the most powerfully Hifonics amp in many years.
👍👍👍...🍻💯
Oh, Hifonics. You used to make great amps. What happened? 🤦🏻
I'd run an old school class A/B Colossus any day over this Amp.
Might have to run it at .5 to get some real power.
They should make them more powerful then what they are if it say 3000 it should do over that say 3300 but they been around for yrs👌👌👌👌
Agree but hey at least it did do it’s rating dynamically. And the efficiency and quality is xlnt on this amp.
The name has been around but they are not the same company as they are own by Maxxsonics
I have the 4200. It hits hard. Better than the bg4000.
Hi fonics is just a name these days the real hifinics left the room around 1998
👍👀👍
I'm saddened that I saw the colossus nameplate degraded like this in my lifetime
I hate the angled power inputs
Yea, I wish they didn’t do that as well.
Just buy some angled adapters. Like $10/20 bucks

🎉🎉I ❤ HI PONICS , BUT THEY NEED A FAN
Should be false advertising as do held accountable…..
Yup the classic hifonics overated by 700 to 1000 rms
can u test the 1750.5 and 2500.5
