Dancing to this in the underground clubs in San Francisco in 1991!! Best memories of my life! Was still in school. No real life pressures no social media no cell phones, just drinkin and dancin till the sun came up!!!
@@veggie42 808 were one of the main acts of the first wave of UK rave scene. In '89 and '90 it was 808, KLF, Orbital, Adamski. Then in '91 came SL2, Altern 8 and The Prodigy. Altern 8 did make tunes earlier under the name Nexus 21 though, with a different sound
I was 13 when this came out wow what a time to be a teen! Not like today with social media is our faces and expectations of grandeur and plastic surgery expected by 30
Collette Post ... I discovered this track about the same age and was a fun time. TH-cam is about the extent of my social media. Don't care for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, so on an so forth. All it would take is for something other than a nuclear weapon to emit e.m.p. and it would cripple the Nation and depending on the strength, practically the World.
God, these songs definitely and very accurately represent the musical trends that were experienced in the early 90s. Fortunately I am one of the people who discovered electronic music in 95, when I was still a child, but I had never heard this band, since I am Mexican. I just discovered it today and this is pure gold! I can't imagine the amount of music of this style that hasn't been heard by the right people yet...
@@warrencrawfordart Yes we alway's trail blaze but the media get's it wrong and alot of the really early gem's get buried! Look at punk! YEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!! TIME MACHIIIINE!!!!!!!! 1 Of the 1st records i bought as a kid! Made me thrive 2 be a dj, & that was the start of my journey!!!!!!
J'adore cette musique, c'est vraiment un bijou en matière de techno et je ne saurais comment l'expliquer mais il y a comme une âme ! Tout comme certains titres de KLF, Orbital, etc. toutes ces musiques électro-intemporelles des années 1990.
Such a Fucking Tune !...think the live footage was shot 91 at the Ku Club (Now Privilege) the day after we ( Dream frequency) Played with 2 for Joy ..oh and 808 nicked our Rider night before ! manc scallys LOL
Surprising to see this footage. I saw this tour, In Palo Alto (90-91 ish). Absolutely amazing. They had a female singer with them, never been able to find her after that show. Any info? Thanks in advance.
Nearly 30 years of life and I only heard this song on a radio few nights ago in work.. very disappointed in myself this woulda been serious as a come up song years ago in my party days.. I hung around with a big group when I was a teen took my first pill at 15. I was the youngest in the group by 4 years. I feel like I got a very slight taste of what it was to party in the 90s we listened to the same music, dressed the same, partied the same but from the stories I heard I missed out big time
So was en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/(We_Don%27t_Need_This)_Fascist_Groove_Thang that would be good for Today it became true! Irony was the BBC banned things that made them more popular!
That very brief moment in 1990 when I considered DJs to be musicians. This was the last decent movement in popular music, the Madchester scene, the nascent rave scene and the first wave of gangsta rap, everything has been shite since.
1991 was, probably, the best year for Dance Music. Some really awesome tunes. I was 38 then. Still raving now at 71 !!

And the music was honest.
Can’t listen to this song enough! Takes me back in time like it was yesterday…
What a time it was to live man nothing like it is now, loved it bk then
If only we could go back to the 90s you had to be there to understand the feeling.
I'd go back tomorrow...
808 State were well under rated these were talented guys, ahead of time!!
They remind me of Altern-8 a bit but more theatric in sound
It's the same Acid/Rave scene of Breakbeat in the late 80s early 90s
Banging song ! Give me a shout out Sharon!
Totally

I was 15, and about to dry my GCSEs. 1991 was dope!!!
I was 10! What a tune, got bought this on best of dance 91, it dictated the direction of my life!! Awesome
Serious flashback. Remember seeing them at the Fifth Column in DC. Life-changing 💖
One of the best all time bands, one of my favourites.
808 State, my favourite Madchester band, being from Manchester myself!
What a tune, loved it then love it now
This is the moment I heard for the first time of 808State and became a fan forever.
Even in 2024 this is a fuckin tune 💊💊💊💊💊
Certainly is. Wish rhubarb and custards were still around
Happy 30th birthday, In Yer Face, released on this day in 1991!

Your so right Adrian people in England are just waking up to it as well! Lot's more where this came from!
@@martinprice7070 Gen X ravers know these very well. The northwest of England was bangin. If you wasn’t there you definitely missed out.

Classic. Wasn’t this used in TV these as well?
Same baseline as Olympic also by 808 State, which was the theme to The Word
Andrew Forrester Yeah. I swear this was used as a TV theme separately?
Clothes Show I believe with Yasmin Le Bon
The chords at the beginning sound dead on like New Order. But it's 808!!!! Awesomeness.
It all does because inspired by them coming from the Madchester Hacienda scene
