    Watched a lot of videos on this replacement, and yours was the most concise, clear and straightforward. Didn't skip steps and great camera views. Thanks for uploading!

    My alternator went out 2 weeks ago, and successfully replaced it today with the help of your video. This is by far THE BEST instructional video for this job!

    Nice job on the video, watched it a couple of times. Clear, concise and very informative. Hardest part for me was prying the alternator off the block.

    Gotta say thanks...You laid this out perfectly step by step, got it done in less than 45 minutes. Only thing that slowed me up was prying the old one off!

    Just wanted to say this was a great replacement video. Great camera angles and helpful insights. Plus being directly to the point. Nice stuff! I got a 15 Ecoboost so this doesn't help me specifically but I had to comment about how good the video is.

    Hello brother,
    I just wanted to thank you very much. About 4 or 5 years ago you made a video about an Audi Q7 oil leak problem. Which helped me alot. Every garage told me my engine had a crack. But it was actually the oil house gasket. So God bless you. And i hope you and your family are safe. Peace!!!

    Thank you for this video! I’m an old 5.0 Foxbody guy but my son has a 2012 V6 Mustang. ALMOST as easy as the Fox, without your video I would have paid someone $800. Thank you, sir!

    Very good tutorial. On manual cars, you don’t have that rubber hose coming off of the intake. At least mine doesn’t.

    Great video. Question!
    I have the same mustang and I use it once a month. Today the car battery was dead. I jumped the car and it turned on. In the dashboard I looked at the battery voltage reader and it was jumping from 11 to 12 to 13. I drove the car for 30 minutes in hopes that the battery would be charged. I came home and turned the car off, I pressed the start button and the battery didn't cranked at all and all the instrument panels light wen off. I tool the battery to autozone and they read the voltage vatery and it was 8v. They said they have to charge it for an hour and test it. My question is, the jumping of voltage normal when the battery is no good, or do you think it's the alternator regulator. Thank you so much

    How did you install the bottom bolt on the alternator? I'm having a difficult time trying to get it in place.

  • @ridehardorstayhome5919
    @ridehardorstayhome5919 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The bottom portion of the airbox removes with one screw near the driver side fender. Literally 10 seconds and you have A LOT more room to work.

    WHAT IF THE LOWER BOLT PART DOESN'T want to go in? like I slid in the new alternator on top bolt but bottom part does not want to sit in line :/

    • @datruth9329

      Tap the bushing on the inside of the alternator before sliding it in place.

    How did you get the alternator lose with the bar I have all the nuts off but it won't budge

  • @andrewash7454

    How do you recommend prying the bottom loose?

    • @datruth9329
      @datruth9329  3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Use a pry bar at the bottom of the alternator and push against the block of the engine.

    • @ivansantamaria3905
      @ivansantamaria3905 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah thats what i needed to know too thanks

    • @IkaikaKahoano
      @IkaikaKahoano 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You don't need a pry bar. Remove the bottom part of the airbox (it's one more screw) to give you a lot more room. Stand on the side of the fender facing the alternator, put both hands on the bottom of the alternator, bend your knees and use some muscle to rotate it TOWARD you not to the front of the vehicle. It's misleading because the stud makes it look like you pull it toward the front of the vehicle to remove it, but you actually rotate it up toward the driver side of the car then pull it forward off the top stud after you clear the bottom part.

    Is this car an automatic? I noticed your pulley looks different then mine and my car is a manual. And my replacement alternator didn’t fix the charging issue. And the new pulley looks like yours

      Mine looked different as well, good thing I noticed when I picked it up at the store. Currently waiting for the right one to come in

    • @jaysmechs2457
      @jaysmechs2457 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Automatic transmission alternator charges more than the manual. You can not cross use them you will damage your battery. Check how much the manual alternator charges vs the automatic alternator
