    I moved to Perth from Birmingham at the end of April! It was very stressful with all the stuff we had to do to get here but I'm looking forward to being in Aus forever :)

      Glad to hear that mate. I'm from the UK. Looking to move this year to Australia doing engineering. I love Australia. And I love Australian's. You guys remind me of what the UK was like when I was a kid. Down to earth. Love ya

      @@bigbob1426 Gday Bob, yes indeed... theres a few brit couples travelling aus on youtube atm, they have got vehicles and doing it right, as in taking their time to see the real aus.

      @@glenod G'day!. My dream is to get me family over there on my engineering qualification. Then work me bollocks off to show I'm not trying to sponge off you guys. Get my feet in the door, get settled. Contribute as much as I can to your beautiful country. And show my kids what it's like and how it should be done. I want it so bad I actually feel sick lol. Can't think of a better country for my kiddo's to grow up in. And I'd give everything I have to your country to make that happen. I just want to contribute and let my kids have a future.

      @@glenod want my kids to experience real nature. Real fishing. Real travelling. Real fishing/hunting etc. But I want them to know where it's come from to be able to do that. And to respect the place they live and be proud to be in Australia. I'm talking with a visa consultant on the 18th so fingers crossed 🤞.
      Thanks for commenting back mate. All the best

      @@hadassah_abx Our life is very good. My new born is now 18 & I have a 16 year old too.
      We live near the beach & near shops & transport links into the city. The cost of living crisis is apparent but we have a rental and making it work. We are very grateful to be here and I know we are very blessed & lucky. Thanks so much for your comment 😊

Just a quick question about the bank account issue when you first got there, at the moment i do have an account with revoult ( similar like monzo i guess ) do you reckon i can use that for my temporary option to pay and receive money from my work ? Thank you in advance!!! 😊

  • @danielbartram1774
    @danielbartram1774 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    What sort of financial clout do you need to to get set up over there ? Would at 80k a year Job keep me and my partner afloat while she looks for work ? Obviously moving there you'd not be able to get a mortgage and get on the housing ladder so you'd have to rent ... is it insanely expensive ? Considering the UK mortgage and rental market is now around 1500 a month for a house where we are

    • @CatLScully
      @CatLScully  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hard to say for sure as obviously depends entirely on your outgoings, if you’re saying 80k AUD I’d say it would be doable but restrictive - if the equivalent of 80k GBP then much better lol!! Yeah you’d generally have to rent. Again depends on the area & size place but I’d say the same sort of rate as you’ve quoted would be about right from what we’ve seen, in the areas of Perth we’ve looked at!

    • @danielbartram1774
      @danielbartram1774 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Cat thanks for the reply! Yeah it's 80k aud.. yeah it's tough to get a sense of how much of a struggle it would be. The other issue seems to be the isolation from the cost of flying there or away from there - isn't it usually around 2k per ticket ??

    Do you need an Aus bank account to purchase a sim card if you’ve got no aus dollars? Or can you use a UK one

    • @CatLScully
      @CatLScully  ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope that’s fine so long as your uk card works abroad & the usual charges would apply for overseas transactions
