Darkness is memory and consciousness. This is the echo showing us a memory. The echo has some sentience and isn't happy with how it's being used by fikrul. It seeks a new master. One that is more worthy to wield it
Wait, is bungie actually cooking with the story this year? The anomaly on Vesper’s Host, the powers of the echo, Mithrax becoming nezarec reborn. The buildup to a big clash in this power vacuum might actually have me excited for where destiny’s story is going.
They did promise to have long lasting overarching villains. Savathun and Witness was the start. Now Maya, probably Fikrul but he's been around for way too long to not be killed permanently by now. As well as the Anomaly and hopefully Xivu.

Ok so theory: I read that people think that inside the Echo of Riis or Echo of Song (which are the names I’m calling it) might be Chelchis, The Kell of Stone, one of the most famous Eliksni hero. In the new lore it’s revealed she was a singer and she was the one who held off Oryx and The Black Fleet when The Whirlwind happened. Do ya guys agree her memory/self could be inside?
Absolutely. She's the most likely option, to be honest. The Witness likely found her strength and memories to be of great enough importance to be added to the collective... Not to mention the odd choice of making it's Herald of Finality an Eliksni. Might be something there.
I agree too, I also think the eliksni looking taken dread unit from the final shape raid was her twisted body. In her last stance of defiance, she was twisted into a monster 😭
Wouldn’t Variks recognise her voice? Chelchis was a prominent figure on Riis, and House Judgement met with the Kells regularly. Variks not recognising the singer is the one hole in this I see.

I interpret it more as the echo thinks he's not worthy because his ambitions are trivial and childish. So far, when he's spoken in the story, he seems like a lost child just looking for his Uldren back and is just throwing a hissy fit.

He “lives”. We did kill him, however, Fikrul resurrected him. Skolas is not the same Fallen Kell we once knew, but now Scorn. Fikrul has the power to revive dead eliksni and turn them into Scorn. That’s how the House of Kings from D1 died off as well. It’s pretty messed up.
But still, it very uncharacteristic for skolas to serve under fikrul. Reason why is because Skolas would rather take power and lead as the kell of kells than to serve under anyone, and if he can't get what he want he would rather die for his beliefs than to live in servitude.

Torabatl was 100% laid to waste by Xivu Arath, probably nothing left to save. Riis was obliterated by The Whirlwind as we see here in the cutscene
