    So..i stopped by and just sat on the 1290 and the 790 adventure (the standard not the "R" which are long sold out) ...the 1290 feels PONDEROUSLY ENORMOUSLY Elephant like INTIMIDATING! Too Tall and too heavy to even imagine slow deep sand! I mean it feels like it would require superhuman strength and ability! Seriously? Count me OUT....I can see someone buying one that actually NEVER rides more than well maintained dirt roads . Then I hopped on the 790 adventure! WOW NIGHT AND DAY experience! I can sit flat footed on the 790 and it feels SO light and confidence inspiring! I wish I could have ridden but had no time today...It just FELT just SO SO friendly and RIGHT feeling! ...my seat of the pants dead engine 2 cents for whatever it's worth to anyone...

      The 790 Adv is a pretty amazing machine for sure! Filling a void...

    I purchased the 1290 Super adventure R, 2018 model. It's a dream machine that brings so much needed joy into my life. Looking at this 2019 I do prefer the older paint styling of the 2018 a bit more as it brings out more of the bike's styling. If you can wait till the years end for 2019, you will serve your pocket book well by getting a blistering deal as the 2020 models arrive. Still can find some 2018 models as low as 14,000. I payed 13,800 for my Austrian machine. Great bike, great rides!

      You're lucky you paid that for the bike, here in Brazil it's easily 4x that price and we are 20x poorer than the europeans or americans lol.
      I would be glad if I only had a Suzuki Burgman loooool I can if I don't get killed randomly by a burglar/stray bullet when coming back from work, because it happens here everyday D:

    Wow alot of KTM haters here. Expensive compared to what. Paid 15,499 for my 2018 1290 SAR. If you don't like a little warmth from your engine turn the A/C up in your car or wear pants when you ride. It's much easier to plug a tubeless tire than to remove the wheel from the bike, take the tube out and repair the tube then reinstall everything on the bike. My truck has more electronics on it than my bike and it doesn't have the same warranty coverage as the drivetrain either.

    Thanks Kyle...a little too long on the TFT and too short on the ride experience in my opinion. Hopefully there’ll be a more comprehensive ride review in the near future. If I trade in my 1290SA, it’ll be on the 790 Adventure R, it looks much more capable offroad and still has ample power for on road.

      Totally agree on the lack of ride experience. We did not get the opportunity to ride more than around the block a few times... Bummer. For my liking, the motorcycle is perfect for off-road trips, but as for road trips, I consider that this motorcycle quality should have the GPS incorporated on the screen with the maps, and in the cruise control it should automatically manage the distance with the vehicles in front. The seat is very far in comfort. But de motorcycling it’s exciting. I have de 2018 model.
    What is the helmet do you use in this video?

    1290 Super Adventure has a safety flaw in its design, the motorcycle has a major safety problem.
    I bought mine six month ago and since day one I have been experiencing head wobble at speed ranging from 100 to 120 mph.
    I contacted the dealer and they said “there is a software upgrade regarding the head wobble”
    I took the motorcycle to the dealer, after the software upgrade I discovered that the four setting for the damping is not working any more there is not difference in the performance between sports, street, comfort or off-road.

    • @chaparralmotorsports
      @chaparralmotorsports  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have ridden several of these bike "at speed" and have not experienced what you have on the 1290. My 1190 Adv R only does this with certain tires. With a tire swap... it 100% goes away. Have your bearings checked and put a set of street tires on your bike and I would put money down that your bike does not headshake at any speed. Knobbies make terrible street tires. - Kyle (not Chaparral)

    • @nev357
      @nev357 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The head wobble is due to the pre load adjustment not being set properly. I experienced the same until I changed the pre load after discussing with my KTM dealer.

    I've bought this model last february. Problem with the pairing with my phone (also tested with other Iphone and Android). Waiting for an reply from the importer. Feels hot from the rear cilinder, and the brakes are very soft and feels some torsion on the front wheel when applied strongly. Ready to Race isn't literaly, you need to buy some Powerparts to take it to the race ;)

Don’t get me wrong, I love my India brothers and sisters and they can build anything as good as anyone else. It just takes a little bit to work out all the kinks. All of my intel is fairly recent.
