I've been holding my breath waiting for Adam's Video review of the 790R! (I read his awesome written review on his website). I almost passed out and started to think I'd be left for dead! But then he delivers yet again and I am completely impressed, not only with the 790R and his ability to ride...but his ability to tell awesome stories on two wheels!

Our mate Riemann couldn't make a bad video even if he tried, he is simply in a class of his own in my opinion, his video work is astonishing. He is head and shoulders above the rest of them.
This channel has the most fantastic footage of far-flung places, and ADV bikes on the internet. Well done.
I love all of Riemann’s videos, obviously one of the best riders around on many platforms. But it is sad when someone who obviously is paid by KTM well do a review on a bike and all you hear is total praise. I’ve been a product tester in the sports industry for over 20 years where we do an unbiased test that tells the true pro’s and con’s. Watching this you can tell it was a total KTM marketing paid for hype.
Don’t bet me wrong I have a 1090R and love the bike. Would just be nice to get real 100% reviews on bikes and gear. Imagine that if it happened.
Agreed 100%. Reimann is a world class rider and could probably jump on any numbers of bikes and ride it better than most mortals and furthermore make it look good on camera. This is clearly a very well devised commercial for the 790 Adventure R.
Atfry 68 I agree but these videos he makes are gold compared to a guy talking and complaining forever. Let someone else find and pick the bike apart. Let guys like this RIDE. These vids can be re-watched for fun multiple times.

Bit harsh guys ..everyone's got to hustle from time to time to keep the wolf at the door, also he did mention the tyres were shit for offroading. An entertaining vid of a good bike, as he so honestly described.
sauberbeast, I agree everyone has to hustle and make ends meet. But when you start of by saying I’m going to give you my “ complete impression”. Buy saying that, you would hope that’s what it is. Not a full blown marketing campaign.
Maybe that’s a new way to hustle and make ends meet, start a moto review business that gives unpaid unbiased opinions.
Still some great riding and yes it’s a great bike.

You're comments re perfect balance and predictable handing.... couldn't agree more. Having owned a KTM large enduro bike, nothing compares. I could ride it like it was half the size in a range of conditions. My skills improved along with my confidence. Nothing but KTM for me now.... wouldn't even consider anything else. The reliability is legendary too.

Meaning you had deposit on it already? Because I was told ALL the Rs have been spoken for ....still can get the non R is what I was told....save a grand and get lack luster suspension etc

Wow, this is the second time I’ve watched this video and I had the feeling of being there. Of all the 790 videos that I have seen so far, this viewing has me considering giving up my GSA. I dunno maybe I should think about that a little more but it definitely has me thinking about getting a 790. Super great video

Now i can see clearly. A descent test. Although I've been expecting something different from ktm, e.g. 690 adv./390 adv. , this video opened my heart!
Once again KTM didn't disappoint me, they are in my mind's eye.
Finally a video that shows how it handles off the pavement! Thank you guys for using a drone too, shows the bikes capabilities and limitations on the trail really well. Can definitely need some new tires! Its no enduro, but thats not its purpose. Great vid

not sure if you're a better rider or filmmaker, but we are damn lucky with the results of both, every time.
I live in Alaska right now, and while yes I have not seen much (havn't lived here very long). I would love to see Greece, and Naxos in person. Even in video they look soooo cool. Also part of the reason why KTM keeps pushing me into their bikes (in particular the ADVs) is their Rally events, and well as someone who loves travel that is perfect for me.

As always, your videos inspire me to get out and ride...and thank KTM for pushing the bar higher. This may be the bike that makes me replace my '04 950 Adventure S....which is, until now, the best twin cylinder off road bike made.
Not really yet. I bought a Pan America for road and gravel, but still deciding between the 890 and an Aprilia Tuareg or the KTM 690. Having the PA allows me to go more off road biased.

Another awesome video, Adam. It rocks, and so does the bike obviously. Ingenious to put the fuel tank down the side on an adventure bike. Way to go for other brands too, getting rid of those crash bars.

I've owned a 2013 990 and now a KTM 500 EXC. I was so looking forward to either this bike or the new Yamaha, but neither scream, "Take my money," for me. I'm waiting for someone to come out with a production rally style bike that can be used as an adventure bike. Most of us mortal riders could never ride like ARiemann1 on a bike like the 790R. Until then, I'll just keep adventure riding my 500. P.S. how can anyone give a thumbs down to any of his videos?

2019 ktm 690 is the perfect dual sport. this 790 thing is hideous...
@@JinKazama92Your comment about looks is irrelevant. 690 is nice, but really its just enduro with big engine. Not as practical, maintenance free and reliable as real dual sport.
@@Angry-Lynx how can you say the 790 is more reliable than the 690 when its still a new engine? you should start looking up the recall issues reported by the new owners. The 690's new LC4 engine is definitely more reliable because its a mastered design ever since it was created in 1997.

Well I bought the 790 adventure R, haven’t received it yet... but I’m starting to worry if I shouldn’t have gone for something else. 690 or 450... It’s primarily to enjoy Europe and ride the TET. Adam is a machine and can make any bike look amazing. 😱. I really hope this bike really is good for an average rider

Everyone has shown how capable this bike is and in good hands it can do almost anything in stock form.
But u have a question about ease of working with this bike with fuel tank down below how easy it's to get to those electricals and engine oil change the normal stuff which people tend to do by themselves?????

You're a skilled rider mate. you could probably do everything just as well on a BMW GS. I love the 790 adventure to bits but I don't believe for one moment that you are being totally honest with your glowing review nor do I believe the insinuation that this bike is anywhere close to being easy to handle offroad as you make it sound for normal riders like the rest of us
I was surprised with the clip against the wr450 and 300 two stroke, but then again he looked like he was about to wash out at nearly every corner. Really impressive riding though.

Amazing video. And amazing countryside. Seeing that, I want to go to such beautiful places... I have seen a lot of videos about this bike and all people say it is an amazing one. Just the windshield which is a bit short when you're going fast and the bike is a bit tall for smaller people. Guess I'll have to take the low height seat option :)

I mean why ktm? ...the closest to perfect bike there is and going backwards with a cable clutch. Any how need to try it first, of course, hopefully soon !

One aspect never spoken with is ownership. Over the years we’ve seen some of the highest rates bikes fall on their face in long term ownership. Maintenance issues, ergo issues, other aspects come into play and people ditch the bikes. It’s interesting to see how long people hold onto the bikes and feel about them in a year or two. It’s great to see KTM trying so hard to give people what they want, and faster than anyone else. New models shouldn’t take five years to roll out.

Yeah !! Great video Adam, Its looks like a great bike, But $21,000 aud is not really practical for me- must be nice to be sponsored, My XR650L will do most things I need it to. I still have a ZX6 street bike for overtaking trucks and going fast.

If anybody sad about your short height and still like the r version, go and take the s version and upgrade the front suspension with a 220 mm from 1290r...it will be still in low seat height and a good suspension for all off-road.
110lb heavier then the 690 but only 46lb lighter then the 1090. I seems like the 790 is much more of an adventure bike then a Dual Sport Enduro.
690 =309lb dry
790 = 416lb dry
1090 = 462lb dry
Yeah but the 790r has 30 plus more horsepower than the 690, and it carries its weight lower so it feels lighter than the 1090, rider said it was much better suspension than the 1090. Guaranteed better on road than the 690, I all's depends on what you want to do. The naysayers won't be convinced any way. I've seen too many videos of the 790R eating up single track, usually with not so great tires, to be convinced it's not a great bike.
Spec sheet fixation. It'll get you every time.
Adam passed both bikes in the video and he also passed a rider pushing a thumper/smoker in the sand and a GS that was going nowhere. Forget numbers, the 790 is more than capable and will change the middleweight. It will win its shootout hands down I predict. Vendors will also go crazy with this bike over the next few years.
