There’s a few strats I’ve been using,you wanna invest in youtube premium,as this will allow you to skip the ads,cutting at least 30 seconds over the course of the run,next you’ll want to go to your settings and(stay with me now this is important)change the “playback speed” option to 2x,this will overall cut the run literally IN HALF,allowing us to bring the WR to about 5:15 with a TAS bot,however the movement of the mouse is completely inhuman when in menus so the current feasible WR is about 5:18 unless some new strat is discovered

Joe% should be considered a valid category, because Joe's model has slightly different clipping properties that affect how much time is saved by each skip and also enable some new skips while locking you out of others.
Joe% has some impressive runs also, theres a lot of cutscenes that are "unskippable" in the main game (such as Stan waking up) however with spamming Joe's habilities in the first frames the game teleports the player to the end of the cutscene, thus skipping it and savong up to 1 second wich is A LOT when we talk about American Dad speedruns.

I actually tried this myself with a Gamecube copy and eventually found out that you can use use the Gamecube Controller Detection glitch in just a split second when Stan's torso is halfway through the floor, making the game somehow trigger the same thing that skips the car cutscene. However, doing this makes it impossible to pull off skipping the car cutscene, making it only give-or-take the same time as if you were to use the CCCG. At least, I think....
This should also include the exploit where you can play *as Joe Swanson,* the glitch where you can *play as Stan's neighbor,* and the video where you can enter GOD mode and *kill your Stan upon leaping out of bed* (these are all different submissions to TH-cam)
Alec Galo stans speed simply cant affect the contents of the newspaper (though joes can) the newspaper being blank simply isn’t in the games files, the only way to avoid it is by clipping directly to the car or skipping the car scene entirely (as many runners have discovered)
just watched this again after a few years of this category losing popularity, it’s heartbreaking looking back that 8:16 was fuck’s last speedrun before he disappeared from the community, and it goes to show that spectators don’t know what they’re talking about. I actually used to do runs of the xbox 360 version, and the newspaper skip not showing the text was legitimately what happened, but people don’t realise this, since it only happens on PAL versions of the game, rather than on NTSC or Japanese copies. one of my friends dug into the code, and found out the reason this only happens on the PAL release, despite PAL being released later than the other versions, is because there are a couple more textures that load in during the family hug scene, which are missing in other versions of the game. These textures remain loaded in until either the intro ends, or they are replaced by something else. This is why the newspaper doesn’t load in, though, since they occupy the same line of code as the newspaper text. Since this text has a few variants it can cycle through randomly, it means that line of code can store multiple textures in one, saving up space in the code. because of this, they add an extra line of code to check around the newspaper textures during the family hug scene to grab the correct ones. but since they’re already loaded, the game has to correct itself and change the texture in that line of code when the newspaper texture is meant to appear, however, this is only activated on the second frame the text is loaded, and since the skip happens in only one frame, the game doesn’t have the time to display it. It’s embarrassing that people didn’t check this right away and instead jumped straight to conclusions that he must’ve been splicing. it’s honestly such a shame, fuck had such a bright future ahead of him in the speedrun community, and he got pushed away too soon. maybe if the community acted rationally, he would still be speedrunning today…
You didn't see Yoshimaniac's speedrun yet, did you? It tops easily anything in this video. But it's true that new speedrunning discoveries are becoming increasingly more rare and difficult; there are only so many glitches to exploit. However, I'm confident that this speedrunning community will still stay viable for some time. While the world records may remain unbroken for a long time, we can still organize real-time American Dad speedrunning competitions. Hopefully AGDQ will feature American Dad the coming year.
This was just found, but if you set up a wrong warp in a different save file, once you start a new game the flag in the beginning will be replaced with the flag in the end, taking the run down to roughly 3.2 seconds. This strat is known as “Flag Warp”
Christopher Kim yea, flag warp is pretty hard to get as only a couple of the button presses are not frame perfect. Just keep working on the timing and get that WR!
Christopher Kim i managed to get the flag warp right and snagged a time of 5.24 seconds but this is only because the only way I could manage to hit the warp correctly 95% of the time is by not doing the floor skip. But it is possible unfortunately I haven’t managed to pull it off again as my save files got corrupted and I never recorded the run but with this information maybe we could get out a new world record. However I did not account for the time lost setting up the save so depending on how moderators of the category see it then the flag warp isn’t a strat that is worth it to attempt unless a save file glitch is found that puts you immediately into the game.

Ahh yes the good old 20th century “Fox” engine. It’s got some pretty serious limitations, I think the misaligned audio is almost unavoidable given the limitations the engine has.
There is a mod out there that fixes this bug. Obviously it's not accepted for a real run, but it makes practicing easier since there are some audio cues that can help the runner nail down that timing
It was just discovered that the braille version of the intro actually runs at a slightly higher framerate since the xbox 360 doesnt need to render the sound at any point. Speedrunners are attempting to relearn the frames at which you can clip through multiple key points of the intro, and it's predicted that a sub 4 second run is now possible due to the overall faster game speed. The gamecube version does not have a braille version since it violates the Japanese's belief that blind people do not exist, thus creating another 8 categories based on framerates, console favoritism, and religion.
I heard the muslim version of the Gamecube American Dad game works just as well, if not better than the Braille version. The explanation behind this is that since its the muslim version, Stan actually moves 4.5 frames faster if he's facing in the general direction of the Meccah due to a built-in digital Qibla compass and it just so happens that the CIA building is in that direction.
I like the Simpsons speedruns for the sheer amount of RNG during the "Couch" sequence. The entire intro run is a meme but it's always entertaining and you never know what could happen.

It feels more buggy, and easier to manipulate the mechanics, especially the telephone pole scene, cause you can position it on the same x axis as the car, causing the coding to skip straight to the cars positioning being the same as the telephone pole

I’ve also been trying to get the world record for American Dad Ultimate (version 3.1.1/Seasons 1-15) 100%, but trying to pull off the glitch that skips most of season 6 is quite challenging. I do speed run Family Guy (seasons 1-17) Stan% but the final boss is infamously difficult on Stan mode and might be the hardest thing in a video game, not to mention there are no known ways to skip it....

This video is a bit outdated, the C3SM (Car Cutscene Controller Skip Manipulation) is now possible on Xbox 360 version which was only possible using TAS before as TAS community claimed that it is not possible for human to shake controller at a perticular frequency frame perfect without ejecting it out of GameCube. Right after it was published on "Look dad, no milk" article, the professional speedrunner Efyusike was able to execute C3SM (Car Cutscene Controller Skip Manipulation) successfully. His strategy to get the right, frame perfect frequency was to play while watching the TAS, synchronizing the start of his TAS with powering on his Xbox, and then playing through to PNPS (Proper Newspaper Skip) RNG manipulation and trying to get the same frequency skiping the entier car scene and be at outside the CIA building. People called him a cheater, but Efyusike is legend of American Dad speedrunning community.

The window newspaper clip is astonishing considering Stan and Francine's room isn't the room above the front door. This should only work while playing as Steve.
A new route was just discovered. When you hop out of the bed, slide across the room by only equipping one slipper in your shoe slot. It’s very tricky since the game automatically gives you both slippers whenever you touch just one of them. However, if you pause buffer and then quickly open your items menu, you get a bugged menu, which allows you to put your underpants in one of your shoe slots, allowing you to equip only one slipper. Once you slide to the very corner of the room, you have to pause buffer again, whilst mashing B, in order to lag clip through the house and sprint to the end of the game. This lag clip is unlike any other clip in the game, as it increases your momentum to almost 30,000 units (as opposed to the default 5 units) which is barely enough for you to reach the CIA building in a few short hops. The problem is, this clip is off screen, making it so you have to “guess” where you are in order for you to properly execute the lag clip, and mash the B button correctly when you’re in a certain position. Its a difficult trick, which is why it kills so many runs. Regardless, it shaves a decent amount of time off the run. You could even beat the whole game in 5 seconds, however, it’s only been done on TAS. Hopefully we see a human played run someday!
whoa. . . that sounds more intense than oot speed runs... this shit is scary. its a good thing am more into fairy tail speed runs. they say its one of the most intense games out there to do a speed run on, but Nah.... it just LOOKS hard, but in reality there's a special trick to it. You Need to be a trained professional with like HAWK eyes in order to be able to spot it dead on, but once You do.... it actually gets SUPER easy to speed run the ever living crap out of this one.
I actually maneged to get out of the window and into the SUV skipping the segment entirely where he leaves his room, hugs his family, leaves the house and looks at the newspaper, this saves about an hour and a half on your run

Actually, it isn’t. Joe’s Chin Size doesn’t allow for the floor clip. However, he can build up indefinite speed during the FGH (Family Group Hug), which allows him to outspeed his car and almost zip to the flag. This is called a Family Group Hug Dash, or a FGHD.
As a Beta Tester for the Official American Dad Game, I have information that in an upcoming update to the game, the floor skip does indeed work with Joe, instead using a roll tactic by holding left on the d-pad while mashing b, which causes you to clip through the floor and roll down the sidewalk, skipping the hug, newspaper, and salute, all in one combination. Keep in mind that this will only work on the GameCube version.

When stan wakes up his model is basicly no cliping so there is a split moment to run strait to the car and drive away.

Alec Galo stans speed simply cant affect the contents of the newspaper (though joes can) the newspaper being blank simply isn’t in the games files, the only way to avoid it is by clipping directly to the car or skipping the car scene entirely (as many runners have discovered)

just watched this again after a few years of this category losing popularity, it’s heartbreaking looking back that 8:16 was fuck’s last speedrun before he disappeared from the community, and it goes to show that spectators don’t know what they’re talking about. I actually used to do runs of the xbox 360 version, and the newspaper skip not showing the text was legitimately what happened, but people don’t realise this, since it only happens on PAL versions of the game, rather than on NTSC or Japanese copies. one of my friends dug into the code, and found out the reason this only happens on the PAL release, despite PAL being released later than the other versions, is because there are a couple more textures that load in during the family hug scene, which are missing in other versions of the game. These textures remain loaded in until either the intro ends, or they are replaced by something else. This is why the newspaper doesn’t load in, though, since they occupy the same line of code as the newspaper text. Since this text has a few variants it can cycle through randomly, it means that line of code can store multiple textures in one, saving up space in the code. because of this, they add an extra line of code to check around the newspaper textures during the family hug scene to grab the correct ones. but since they’re already loaded, the game has to correct itself and change the texture in that line of code when the newspaper texture is meant to appear, however, this is only activated on the second frame the text is loaded, and since the skip happens in only one frame, the game doesn’t have the time to display it.
It’s embarrassing that people didn’t check this right away and instead jumped straight to conclusions that he must’ve been splicing. it’s honestly such a shame, fuck had such a bright future ahead of him in the speedrun community, and he got pushed away too soon. maybe if the community acted rationally, he would still be speedrunning today…

But it's true that new speedrunning discoveries are becoming increasingly more rare and difficult; there are only so many glitches to exploit. However, I'm confident that this speedrunning community will still stay viable for some time. While the world records may remain unbroken for a long time, we can still organize real-time American Dad speedrunning competitions. Hopefully AGDQ will feature American Dad the coming year.
This was just found, but if you set up a wrong warp in a different save file, once you start a new game the flag in the beginning will be replaced with the flag in the end, taking the run down to roughly 3.2 seconds. This strat is known as “Flag Warp”
a run like this would also need to account the time taken to set up the wrong warp, which would certainly make the run longer than the 9 second WR
The setup is impossible for me to get flag warp accomplished. Best of luck to people out there who can get it done
Christopher Kim yea, flag warp is pretty hard to get as only a couple of the button presses are not frame perfect. Just keep working on the timing and get that WR!
yea but this strat is used in the NG+ (new game plus) category
Christopher Kim i managed to get the flag warp right and snagged a time of 5.24 seconds but this is only because the only way I could manage to hit the warp correctly 95% of the time is by not doing the floor skip. But it is possible unfortunately I haven’t managed to pull it off again as my save files got corrupted and I never recorded the run but with this information maybe we could get out a new world record. However I did not account for the time lost setting up the save so depending on how moderators of the category see it then the flag warp isn’t a strat that is worth it to attempt unless a save file glitch is found that puts you immediately into the game.

Ahh yes the good old 20th century “Fox” engine. It’s got some pretty serious limitations, I think the misaligned audio is almost unavoidable given the limitations the engine has.
There is a mod out there that fixes this bug. Obviously it's not accepted for a real run, but it makes practicing easier since there are some audio cues that can help the runner nail down that timing

I really liked how you spelled out "fuck" to make fun of SS spelling out "VAJ."
It was just discovered that the braille version of the intro actually runs at a slightly higher framerate since the xbox 360 doesnt need to render the sound at any point. Speedrunners are attempting to relearn the frames at which you can clip through multiple key points of the intro, and it's predicted that a sub 4 second run is now possible due to the overall faster game speed.
The gamecube version does not have a braille version since it violates the Japanese's belief that blind people do not exist, thus creating another 8 categories based on framerates, console favoritism, and religion.
I heard the muslim version of the Gamecube American Dad game works just as well, if not better than the Braille version. The explanation behind this is that since its the muslim version, Stan actually moves 4.5 frames faster if he's facing in the general direction of the Meccah due to a built-in digital Qibla compass and it just so happens that the CIA building is in that direction.

Bed Tundy yeah, I found my old run of it and uploaded it, turns out it was the WR so it inspired me to go back, looking back it’s kinda funny how people don’t run it as much anymore considering the resurgence of these hidden gems.
MarioLuigiFun I currently hold the world record for the Cleveland show 100% (04:08:09.539 seconds).
I’ve also been trying to get the world record for American Dad Ultimate (version 3.1.1/Seasons 1-15) 100%, but trying to pull off the glitch that skips most of season 6 is quite challenging. I do speed run Family Guy (seasons 1-17) Stan% but the final boss is infamously difficult on Stan mode and might be the hardest thing in a video game, not to mention there are no known ways to skip it....
I personally am a Futurama runner on the Wii and I approve this video.

The developers really don't want us to stray from the original sequence anymore and anything past the 1.12.7 patch won't have alt endings, so we have to stick with glitches

I just found out this is the latest version of the game at the moment.
This video is a bit outdated, the C3SM (Car Cutscene Controller Skip Manipulation) is now possible on Xbox 360 version which was only possible using TAS before as TAS community claimed that it is not possible for human to shake controller at a perticular frequency frame perfect without ejecting it out of GameCube.
Right after it was published on "Look dad, no milk" article, the professional speedrunner Efyusike was able to execute C3SM (Car Cutscene Controller Skip Manipulation) successfully.
His strategy to get the right, frame perfect frequency was to play while watching the TAS, synchronizing the start of his TAS with powering on his Xbox, and then playing through to PNPS (Proper Newspaper Skip) RNG manipulation and trying to get the same frequency skiping the entier car scene and be at outside the CIA building.
People called him a cheater, but Efyusike is legend of American Dad speedrunning community.

The window newspaper clip is astonishing considering Stan and Francine's room isn't the room above the front door. This should only work while playing as Steve.
A new route was just discovered.
When you hop out of the bed, slide across the room by only equipping one slipper in your shoe slot. It’s very tricky since the game automatically gives you both slippers whenever you touch just one of them. However, if you pause buffer and then quickly open your items menu, you get a bugged menu, which allows you to put your underpants in one of your shoe slots, allowing you to equip only one slipper.
Once you slide to the very corner of the room, you have to pause buffer again, whilst mashing B, in order to lag clip through the house and sprint to the end of the game. This lag clip is unlike any other clip in the game, as it increases your momentum to almost 30,000 units (as opposed to the default 5 units) which is barely enough for you to reach the CIA building in a few short hops.
The problem is, this clip is off screen, making it so you have to “guess” where you are in order for you to properly execute the lag clip, and mash the B button correctly when you’re in a certain position. Its a difficult trick, which is why it kills so many runs.
Regardless, it shaves a decent amount of time off the run. You could even beat the whole game in 5 seconds, however, it’s only been done on TAS.
Hopefully we see a human played run someday!

its a good thing am more into fairy tail speed runs. they say its one of the most intense games out there to do a speed run on, but Nah.... it just LOOKS hard, but in reality there's a special trick to it. You Need to be a trained professional with like HAWK eyes in order to be able to spot it dead on, but once You do.... it actually gets SUPER easy to speed run the ever living crap out of this one.
I actually maneged to get out of the window and into the SUV skipping the segment entirely where he leaves his room, hugs his family, leaves the house and looks at the newspaper, this saves about an hour and a half on your run

Actually, it isn’t. Joe’s Chin Size doesn’t allow for the floor clip. However, he can build up indefinite speed during the FGH (Family Group Hug), which allows him to outspeed his car and almost zip to the flag. This is called a Family Group Hug Dash, or a FGHD.

As a Beta Tester for the Official American Dad Game, I have information that in an upcoming update to the game, the floor skip does indeed work with Joe, instead using a roll tactic by holding left on the d-pad while mashing b, which causes you to clip through the floor and roll down the sidewalk, skipping the hug, newspaper, and salute, all in one combination. Keep in mind that this will only work on the GameCube version.
