  • The disconcerting concept of the Sotah, the suspected adulteress, and her appearance in the Tabernacle, conveys the deepest insight into the relationship between husband and wife, and the powerful, holy secret of what true marriage is really all about.
This video was recorded, uploaded and published prior to the Festival of Shavuot
The portion of Naso (Num. 4 : 21 - 7 : 89 ) is read in the Land of Israel on Shabbat (Isru Chag) 7 Sivan 5783 - May 27, 2023 On account of the second day of the Festival of Shavuot that is observed in the Diaspora (with its own Torah reading), this portion will be read outside the Land of Israel on Shabbat, 3 Tammuz 5783 - June 3, 2023

I am deeply interested in this, woman holds children in her body and if she does not honour this. Generations of her family would be wrong. These days women have modern methods of evading their duty to God , themselves and their husbands. I"m sorry l"m typing it quickly . So many other thoughts flit through my mind. Respect to you Rabbi. Thank you for this.

    Question:
If the woman did have a sexual relationship with a man isn’t that adultery and doesn’t the Torah call for the man and the woman to be put to death ? Then why, did you say separate (divorce) ?
I realize that in today’s laws it is not permitted but I would imagine that in IsraEl it does apply ?

Thank you for explaining Rabbi. To a modern thinker, the 800 lb gorilla is the import or lack thereof, of a wife's jealous ideation. It would seem Torah does not give equal import here to husband and wife because complications of bloodline only go one way.
