Joshua Maponga III, a renowned theologian, has delved deep into African Spirituality, challenging conventional Christian principles. His extensive knowledge prompts a reevaluation of the influence of Christianity and other religions on our thinking, suggesting they serve as tools for control and disconnection from nature. By exploring his insights, one begins to question ingrained beliefs and societal programming. Maponga's teachings encourage reconnecting with our cultural roots, understanding our genealogy, and learning from our ancestors to shape a better future. African spirituality, he argues, offers profound wisdom and is far from barbaric. Listening to Maponga's wisdom inspires a deeper understanding of our heritage and environment, fostering personal growth and societal change.
It's an honour for me to listen to you, Baba Joshua Maponga. I don't know you in person, but I have been following you on the AIM podcast and Amabhishoph. I admire and honour you, Baba Maponga. We really need to do self-introspection in our cosmology, as you say. Baba Prof. John Hendrik Clarke He said very well that if you don't know who was yesterday, you will be lost for the present time.
the thing with Bishop Maponga is he makes u think, really think,, problem is most people dont enjoy being challenged this way so they just get offended instead of engaging with the point....a great n fierce pan-African who uses diplomatic terms n allegory such as "spiritualism" 👏👏
I'm glad I came across Joshua and started learning about my past as a Zimbabwean woman. I'm beginning to feel proud of my heritage and wanting to learn more about African spiritually. Absolutely amazing. Thank you Mr Maponga

It saddens me that he knows nothing about his Igbo heritage. Which is a beautiful culture. Christianity has brainwashed so many people. I believe we all need to know our ancient history.

@@amehka5416 It's going pretty well, personally. But there's much work to be done socially. People still see Vodou as evil and, somewhat true, there's a lot of witchcraft practices in the name of Vodou. Most houngans and mambos wander away from the true practice of love and respect for all kinds of life and non-life.
Once i left Christianity, i was able to truly connect with nature and myself. Christianity has nothing to do with my ancestral roots and therefore i cannot relate to it whatsoever.
Indigenous forms of spirituality are so rooted in truth that even small truths in false religions (when they do appear) must testify to it. Every black person in the world must hear this.
Thanks. This was great and informative. I didn’t know the history of Ntate Maphanga 🙏🏾. I’ve lived an atheist lifestyle for most of my life until I was forced to confront myself and found myself….then I found my spirituality. The religion that arrived in 1652 is totally unfit for an African existence.🙏🏾. Our African proverbs provide guidance of how we need to live.
Not 2 bags of cement and a bucket of paint😮. Mr Maponga thank you for painting this vivid picture. I sincerely hope our people wake up and realize who we are. We are are Kings and Queens and nothing less.
I love this...❤🇧🇼🧘🏾♀️💚Rre Maponga exudes Masculine Energy that can be trusted to lead a home, an organization, a political party, a nation. We thank God for your life sir🙏🏾
You are very right Mr. Joshua Maponga..,every words you are saying, spirituality in many places in the world are the same in essences, we are all one , respect from Indonesia. Rahayu ❤❤❤
This mindset is what keeps us stagnant. Our deep dependence on the land and nature hinders our ability to think beyond it for development. Regardless of location, a person will remain reliant on the land until its resources are depleted, showing no ambition for advancement. Consequently, when another race arrives, the natives appear defenseless and vulnerable.
When you leave the African to practice his spirituality by using the land the waters and the trees as servant spirits, you expose them to possible destruction should they encroach on a territory governed by another African fully submitted to Yeshua. Id love to hear his thoughts on this. Very interesting video to break down and ingest especially learning that Maponga was a Bishop for 30 years. This video provokes thought, also what are the intricate details surrounding his walk in the faith as a bishop. So many questions I have. All in all this video provokes thought and testing of what he says. To add, we must also not apply logic when speaking on spiritual matters (only in the African spiritual context of shrines and 'pulling' energy from land, water, trees where set processes bring specific outcomes as it is servant spirit based, you will arrive at a logically satisfactory end) when you look at the spirit of God/Yeshua one cannot apply logic and arrive at a satisfactory end, yes there are processes to follow to maximise on spiritual power however it cannot be fit into a logical box that you can figure out at any time because you are dealing with a King who does as he pleases. This is an authority discussion on a spiritual level I agree with Maponga on the institution of religion being used to brainwash. What I would challenge is this, give a man a bible and send him to the bush to read it and instruct him to come back after deep meditation on the text, when he returns ask him of his revelations. I can almost guarantee that you will not be able to render him institutionalized. I say this cognizant of the kinds of the bibles we have today some would class them as "incomplete'' or ''doctored''. Spiritual matters run deep, the question is whose measuring stick has hit the bottom of the matter
I love what you say about education. If Africa can bring back the schools of wisdom. So much more can be achieved if children are guided to cultivate their natural curiosity instead of being forced to just memorize and obey. We all have so much to offer if we can follow our passion. We are still stuck with an education system that was developed for workers for the industrial age.
I'm so glad I finally watched this since it's been repeatedly showing up in my feed. All I can say is I love this man and his journey to self through religion resonates with me.
I am so glad to see African spirituality so accessible on TH-cam. When I started searching it was mostly Indian and American and even when I searched for something more African it was limited. Now it seems to have taken a quantum leap. I would love to be part of this. I will start by subscribing. I am from Namibia.
When I listen to my fellow people on the other side of the world and see that they are awakening it makes feel alive. I am praying that all African descendants shake off the shackles of the white man's mental slavery and return to our source of life. African spirituality.
@@kevindossantos6282 I mean exactly that? Who created you, who created everything seen and unseen. When you say “when you say may the creator bring you many blessings” who are you referencing. Who is the creator of African Spirituality, when you pray who do you pray to.?
As a white swede, I wish my african brothers and sisters a prosperous future. May all humans upon this earth find their most suitable and free spiritual practise. Let the best from all traditions be preserved, let the rest be buried. When it comes to christianity, we must do some very wise and true discrimination. The inner, esoteric, christianity is about truth and love. Christ Yeshua is still a redeemer in the deepest sense, but there was this hijacking early on. Let us now be humble, all of humanity, and heal the tremendous wounds from unspeakable barbarism committed by us against our neighbours since time immemorial. This work will not allow for any childish blame games or victimisation or idealisation. We need mature and rise to the occasion now. Let us join in prayer, let our inner Kings and Queens kneel down before the One True Source God and ask the Eternal Spirit of Love to teach us what we need to lay error and darkness down forever. Blessing to All.
My brother Joshua, I love the nature and spirit in which you speak. however, I have to differ with you immensely. I'm probably One of the more qualified people who can disagree with you because. I am an African American who did not grow up in Christianity and was searching for a religion and in my college years I found it through African spirituality. so much so that I taught it and got initiated as an African priest in Ghana. Two parts. prior to that in my journey I was practicing Yoruba. I understand African cosmology and spirituality and it wasn't until I became about 40 that I was spiritually introduced to the love of Jesus Christ. and I must tell you that I know for a fact. that is the right path. not only for me because I don't want people to fall into the trap of oh well, that's just your path man! no, this is the correct path for all human beings . it's not demonic to be spiritual but African spirituality as you're defining it is ultimately controlled by demons. how do I know I used to worship him in the animal sacrifices that I did in the same things you're talking about where we go to the rivers and talk to the ancestors and talk to the nature spirits even to the point where we used to evoke dwarfs which people would know as leprechauns they always come out looking very demonic and so I have a very very clear understanding of the trickery and deception. but at the same time I won't ever take away the beauty of the people of Africa and their love for nature Aunt their connection. you are correct about that. the problem is that's what Satan loves to exploit. he exploits the beauty of the people and corrupts it by making them worship. it doesn't matter if you say they're not worshiping. they are worshiping the river. they are worshiping the air the sky because eventually they give it a name and they talk to it in a way of worshiping. it's not a reverence like you're trying to say. it is actual worship and it is even to the point where they will create altars. in fact, there's no limit to the amount of altars that will ultimately be created for the entities you're talking about. so yes in the beginning it sounds all sweet and nice. and your voice is nice with a nice tone and it makes it sound like it's so simple. but the fact is I have been there brother. I know it as well as if not better than you and most and I promise you that there are demons. that are invading African spirituality. are people in Africa are beautiful people very spiritual people. very loving. people have a great relationship with nature. however, for the last time I'll say it that is being exploited and the only way that you can combat that is through the nature of the one who actually controls the whole universe. who is God? as expressed through Jesus Christ and the holy Spirit, there are three entities that have the right to be called God as a whole functioning together. I love and respect you for what you're saying but I disagree and will never stop disagreeing because of my actual knowledge and experience. God bless you

I Am Grateful for His Spiritual Wisdom. 🙏🏼🌍🌬🔥💧🌀🙏🏼
How can we celebrate the brain of Joshua Maponga for the rest of our life? We need to preserve his teachings for the next remaining generation.
By carrying the conversation forward and improving the African identity
Let’s make him king 👑 and we will never forget him

Yes!! He is truly magnificent!!
He's making sense all the way through
Thank you for watching and finding the content valuable!
Yes he is!!!
the thing with Bishop Maponga is he makes u think, really think,, problem is most people dont enjoy being challenged this way so they just get offended instead of engaging with the point....a great n fierce pan-African who uses diplomatic terms n allegory such as "spiritualism" 👏👏
Well said💥🥳 many don't have or can't master the COURAGE to challenge anything; so it is what it is, they say. Sad
Love his way of expressing the true nature and simplicity of how we all connect. Thank you
I'm glad I came across Joshua and started learning about my past as a Zimbabwean woman. I'm beginning to feel proud of my heritage and wanting to learn more about African spiritually. Absolutely amazing. Thank you Mr Maponga

Thank you for this deep wisdom
I love his humility. Not afraid to say I don’t know
So much resonance in this conversation. Its about interconnectedness and respect! "Knowledge of Self is the highest form of spirituality"...well said!
That was awesome speech really... Thank you Mr Maponga 👏 ! It is always a pleasure to listening to you 😊
Thank you! 😃
I thank God for spiritual awakening that occured to me recently.... Much love from Kenya, I love this energy
So insightful. Thanks bringing great minds and ideas to us. Love from Pakistan
I will watch this countless times, untill my children watch it with me❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

I'm really proud to see Maponga talked this way to wake up the new generation.
I wish for Africa to wake up to the beauty of their spirituality 🙏🏾 connect to self
I don't believe what Joshua Maponga is saying, he doesn't know God, and wonder why he's called Bishop. He knows too much of nothing.

Now I see why African spirituality is not acceptable in christian church. Awesome video! Thanks for posting! This makes me smarter!
I'm American. I have a Nigerian friend. He's Christian. I'm not. His ancestors are Igbo and he knows nothing about his Igbo heritage. All he grew up and knows is Christianity. It saddens me that he knows nothing about his Igbo heritage. Which is a beautiful culture. Christianity has brainwashed so many people. I believe we all need to know our ancient history.

This is the essence of the vodou we practice here in Haiti. Happy to listen to a wise being.
Thank you for your kind words, I appreciate your support!
Voodoo is WICHCRAFT and GOD CONDEMNS it. This proves Joshua Maponga supports witchcraft!
@@woolkerc How is that working out?
@@amehka5416 It's going pretty well, personally. But there's much work to be done socially. People still see Vodou as evil and, somewhat true, there's a lot of witchcraft practices in the name of Vodou. Most houngans and mambos wander away from the true practice of love and respect for all kinds of life and non-life.

Such conversations should be encouraged to "decolonize our ethnicity". Keep it up
Always decolonizing, never free. At your age, this is pathetic!!!
Colonization literally took hundreds of years, you think decolonization can happen in shorter time? You’re pathetic, what are you smoking?
Once i left Christianity, i was able to truly connect with nature and myself. Christianity has nothing to do with my ancestral roots and therefore i cannot relate to it whatsoever.

Indigenous forms of spirituality are so rooted in truth that even small truths in false religions (when they do appear) must testify to it. Every black person in the world must hear this.
Still today, the wisdom shines brighter. Thank you brother
My pleasure
Brother Joshua Maponga is sooo on point, has been for years. APTTMHYAH
This is the simplest description of Spirituality…I love this. Thank you sir
So nice of you

You are very right Mr. Joshua Maponga..,every words you are saying, spirituality in many places in the world are the same in essences, we are all one , respect from Indonesia. Rahayu ❤❤❤
This mindset is what keeps us stagnant. Our deep dependence on the land and nature hinders our ability to think beyond it for development. Regardless of location, a person will remain reliant on the land until its resources are depleted, showing no ambition for advancement. Consequently, when another race arrives, the natives appear defenseless and vulnerable.
True. That is reason why Africa is always behind in terms of Technological development.
This is an authority discussion on a spiritual level
I agree with Maponga on the institution of religion being used to brainwash.
I understand you well well
Well said
His Energy is Amazing! 🙏🏼Ase!🙏🏼

This man needs to be protected at all cost !

May the Creator bring you many blessings Mr Joshua Maponga for your uplifting words!

Who is the Creator?
What do you mean?
@@kevindossantos6282 I mean exactly that? Who created you, who created everything seen and unseen. When you say “when you say may the creator bring you many blessings” who are you referencing. Who is the creator of African Spirituality, when you pray who do you pray to.?
@@TribeofLevi0404 why is this important to you? The Creator I pray to? My answer is in your question if it means that much to you.
You questioned and answered everything I’ve been thinking for years. It just never made sense to me but if you question it they call you ungodly.
I'm glad my video resonated with you and helped clarify things!
Wow! I really needed this teaching! I was looking for spirituality not religion! Thank you! May you be blessed!
Thank you. You are human A good man. It's the elites who tried to destroy the world.

God bless you
Thank you for sharing this wonderful information on life ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤.
