The Torah portion of Shelach (Numbers 13 : 1 - 15 : 41) is read on Shabbat, Sivan 23, 5784 - June 29, 2024

Shelach lecha - go for yourself, not for me. Rachab- broad, open to the public. The public Square is.Rachab. A Innkeeper is. Rachab. “Ishah zonah “ - an independent businesswoman A single woman running a business open to the public is Rachab. So Rachab was not necessarily a prostitute although she could have been an innkeeper offering sex services - or not- if so more likely as a madam, rather than a prostitute herself. She was a broad. Wide open to the public.
