Story 5 Both are unreasonable and they deserve each other. I just hope that they do not procreate, and the father of her child gets full custody, because it is obvious who left whom.
Fun fact. The term "blood is thicker than water" is one of the most ironically used phrases as it full term is "the blood of the battlefield is thicker than the water of the womb" meaning that the family you choose and struggle with is more important than the one you are born into.
“I’m telling mommy on you if you don’t let me move into your house!” What the actual f*!? Then again, I have a friend with an entitled older sister who behaves this way, she tried to get him removed from his apartment because she wanted it, despite it not being suitable for her, her husband, and their kid along with their multitude of pets. He even tried to find her a good place to live nearby that they could afford, but noooo.
You really should find out the whole story. The guy is basically my BiL if he was more spoiled. Between the beer, the campers, his previous 2 trucks, and the bullheadedness, it's a wild ride.
Story 5: that is a sign of things to come. He's waving red flags in front of OP's face. If that relationship gets to the point of marriage, OP will be waiting on him hand and foot like OP's a servant at the best.
The grandma grandpa and father in the story made me tear up due to their loyalty to an adopted family member. It joys me to know of people like them🥹 not blood but are excepting of
Wedding DJs cost anywhere between 1500$ to 4000$ or more and she treated you like shit the whole time, im sure most DJs wouldnt have put up with that either
This is why even between friends you need a contract with a set fee for your time and services . This way if the friend tries to underlay you can take them to court for the rest of the fee stated in the contract that they signed as a legally binding agreement .
*Story 1:* It's crazy how entitled some people can be towards something someone *else* bought. OP buys a nice house, and yet his brother insists that it belongs to *him* instead. Good for OP for not caving to his brother's demands or his mother's. Just because he's his brother, that doesn't entitle him to his property, and throwing a temper tantrum over it won't make it his. Good for OP's father for defending OP. He should've done more than poke brother with his cane.
Story 4: OP is so right to be mad at her sister. Being late constantly and for hours at a time is incredibly rude. In my culture "on time" means you are atleast 5 minutes early, sometimes eve 15 minutes. I also hate being late myself because if we agree on a time any lateness over 10 minutes better have a valid reason. If traffic was bad, you got hold up in some way or anything else outside of your power happens you can tell me and it is fine. We cannot control everything around us and i can accept that. but if you are late because you purposefully decided to be late or because you just do not value or care about MY TIME then we have a problem.
Careful converting garage spaces to living spaces. Check with your local code enforcement office bc they may not allow it in your area. Usually, a firewall of some sort is necessary between the garage portion & living area.
Story 1. Entitled brother, Mommy has ZERO authority over your brother's house IN your brother's house. Story 2. Your extended family are MORONS 3. Bridezilla, pay your DJ FAIRLY! Story 4. Use the 15-minute rule.
Last story: There's no catch 22. The boyfriend is a controlling AH and the sooner OP realizes this and dumps him the better off they'll be. He literally has shown no care about OP's problems.
FIRST OF ALL, the friend said “why is the DJ on the dance floor” not why are you on the dance floor. Meaning she didn’t see you as a friend and there for you as the dj should have been paid
Pathetic, a grown pulling the “I’m telling mumny on you!” op needs to set up cameras because likelihood the brother sounds like he might try and break in or cause property damage to op.
Not the jerk because it was your house not his house he needs to learn that you can't get every for free your parents are jerks and he is a huge jerk he needs to stop
For story 2, I can't help but wonder if the name is unique and if having it means the child will benefit from extra favors from the grandmother. If it's an ordinary name, then other cousins would feel free to give it to their own children. At any rate, I would not want any family member dictating what I should name my child and would refuse the offer. Another cousin can have it.
Story2: ntj if the extended family is so insistent about Family traditions/rule/bloodrights, then what about Respekt/Obeying the Elderly and they decisions ???
I wouldn't be surprised if the brother only wanted to move in so he could intentionally make life miserable for his little brother to make himself feel good.
I can relate to story 1. Bought a condo unit with my GF before my older brother. Although it was my parents who flipped out. They didnt like it when I was outshining my older brother because for some reason they believe it makes my brother look bad. They then downplayed the value of having a Condo as its not a house, and suggested selling it. At that time my then GF and I was planning to go childless if we get married, as she was worried that her body cant handle the pregnancy due to complications shes had since she was a child. It would just be the two of us and we can just travel. We blught the condo unit for practicality and the convinience as its very close both our places of work. This was what we tell our relatives when they ask. But my folks couldnt accept that their golden child is being left out. So since my parents cant convince me to let go of the unit and cant sway my relatives’ opinions on buying and owning the unit, they bought condominium units with the purpose of setting it up as a office for my brother. Their plan didnt pan out as their condominium building took longer than expected to complete construction and my brother’s job needed him to be at a different city. Their unit remained unoccupied and barred until life happened and they had to sell it.
Good God. When are parents going to realize that playing favorites with their kids crea8te a dichotomy in the family unit, thus inevitably creating rifts and even bigger lifelong resentments?
Never forget that "the blood of the covenant is thicker than the water if the womb." A bond you chose should always be more powerful than bonds that are forced upon you (such as familial bonds)
OP #5. RUN don't walk away from your BABY of a "boyfriend"!! If you think it's bad NOW, (as they say) "you ain't seen nothing yet"!! He will only get wore.
This story is like that song- 'Everything you can do I can do better, I can do anything better than you' "no you can't" 'yes I can' "Buy a HOUSE" 'wtf wtf!?' 😂
In the second story, the grandfather was called Grampy just like I call my grandfather just feels so good to know that I’m not the only one who calls their grandfather that 😊 And in the 4th story my advice for the original poster is to just tell your sister that she needs to be there by a time that’s earlier than when she actually needs to. because that’s what we do with one of my family members who is always late because she has no track of time
Rule #1 of living a long life. Do not engage the stupid. If they are saying something stupid, do not engage. Do not explain, do not argue just walk away. It just isn't worth the time, or the brain cells to engage stupid.
For story 3, op isnt the jerk at all! Their friend used other friends for the wedding, and paid them! Cause i mean, that person paid their friend $1000 for being the weddings photographer. But thinks the op would be the DJ for free?? Like, DJ's normally are around $2000-$3000! I find that extremely two faced! Like, she tells the op that she shouldnt expect to pay her, since she thinks its a "gift of appreciation." Yet she turned around and paid her other friend $1000. So no, not the jerk at all-
That extended family sounds toxic and entitled as F. Grandma gave the suggestion, OP accepted, end of discussion. These "blood/not blood" arguments just make me sick. Besides, per my understanding the full saying goes, "the blood of the covenant is great than the water of the womb," which is the opposite of how the phrase is usually used, and how grandma in the story clearly sees it.
9:43 my older sister is only blood related to me, however my dad took her in when she was 3 months old and raised her as his own since then, she calls him dad her husband calls him father in law, and my family has always treated her as part of the family despite no blood relation. I can't imagine how I'd react if my family did this kind of stuff to her.
Story 1: The OP’s older brother is a pathetic manchild. Story 4: Tardiness is unacceptable, unless it’s for a party then you can be fashionably late. Here’s a phrase I learned in the military, “To be early is to be on time. To be on time is to be late. The OP does have her own family to take care of.

what a wild story, I really enjoyed this video! it's interesting how family dynamics can get so complicated. I can't help but wonder if the brother's jealousy is really about the house or if there's deeper issues at play. I mean, shouldn't he be happy for his sibling's success instead of feeling entitled? just feels a bit off to me.
That person's boyfriend who is cleaning so hard it's just looking for Mommy. This person who has other obligations of her own and her life does not need another baby!
Story #4 I had a friend, in a circle of 10/12 people, that was always at least half an hour late every time, in every occasion. So we others decided that when we made plans we would tell her the wrong hour (i. e. if we were meeting at 7p.m. we would tell her that the tile was 6.30 p.m. ). Finally she got the hint....
DJ got done dirty. But he should have mentioned pay when he agreed to do it (because people assume they won't either have to pay fairly or have no clue what fair pay is). He isn't the asshole at all though.
17:03 in my opinion just because your sister is a hour late Everytime doesn’t mean she doesn’t care abt you I mean sure she has bad time management but that doesn’t technically mean she doesn’t care abt you like if my brother was a hour late Everytime and this has been a past issue I wouldn’t blame him or anyone because just saying that off the bat doesn’t make any sense like you don’t know if they just forget Everytime or is struggling with time management. So true
It’s blood of the covenant not battlefield
amen brother
Wow thanks, i did not think of that
Covenant my dude. Battle brothers are a covenant too though
*Story 2:* Did they seriously ask him to "have the compassion to exclude yourself from the family" ? The hypocrisy of it all.
Oh god! The first story reminds me of the "Do it for dan saga" where the parents go to the house demanding it 😂

Some people, despite being family members, CAN be crazy bastards!
good story.
The "Do iT fOr DaN" might return again
that was a W story
It did. There was a new update
Omg I forgot about that story,
It was the goat almost
You really should find out the whole story. The guy is basically my BiL if he was more spoiled.
Between the beer, the campers, his previous 2 trucks, and the bullheadedness, it's a wild ride.
Story 2: If he's not even considered family to them... Then him choosing that name should mean nothing to them...
True that is worng
Why is the brother going crazy, it's just a house... nobody asked him to be a copycat
Golden child syndrome.
Right? If brother wants the house, he should've ponied up the money himself. What makes him entitled to the house?
@@jasoncarpp7742 he's the golden child. His parents raised him to think that if he wants something. That automatically makes it his.
@@DigitalCowboy000 That's crazy how that is. Thankfully I was never raised that way. I don't mind working for what I get.
@@jasoncarpp7742 fortunately the vast majority of us weren't raised that way.
The mom in the first story needs to get it through her head that she's raised her first born to be a legend in his own mind.
Story 5: that is a sign of things to come. He's waving red flags in front of OP's face. If that relationship gets to the point of marriage, OP will be waiting on him hand and foot like OP's a servant at the best.
Who’s OP
I absolutely cracked up at "my dad then poked him with his cane."
The grandma grandpa and father in the story made me tear up due to their loyalty to an adopted family member. It joys me to know of people like them🥹 not blood but are excepting of
Story 1 is another example of the "Do It For Dan" genre
Do it for dan will become a music genre at this rate 😭
The only difference is dad shoved reality into man-baby's face, hard way!!!
I hate these stupid entitled people acting like they own the planet. If you want something EARN IT,don’t try to steal it because you want it
U and me both!! 🙄🙄🙄

Ahh yess another case of “do it for Dan”
Brother refuses to straighten up & act like an adult!! He is mommy's problem now, not OP's. 😂
*Story 1:* It's crazy how entitled some people can be towards something someone *else* bought. OP buys a nice house, and yet his brother insists that it belongs to *him* instead. What’s worse is that according to Op, her sister is always on time when it’s plans with her friends

I honestly find it impressive how the narrator can just voice the situation so well like he's the one who experienced it
Careful converting garage spaces to living spaces. Check with your local code enforcement office bc they may not allow it in your area. Usually, a firewall of some sort is necessary between the garage portion & living area.
First story: Dad is walking with a cane?? Dang, how old are these people?
13:13 80$ FOR BEING A DJ AT THE WEDDING IS LIKE AN EIGHTH OF WHAT SHE SHOULDVE BEEN PAYED
This is quite literally a “do it for Dan” moment
For Story 2: My Brother and I aren’t related to our parents or extended family by blood but none of our family members would ever treat us like this.
Dad is the goat for agreeing with him
I love the chemistry between the hosts. They make even the most complex topics fun to listen to.
That boyfriend in the last story is like biting the hand that's feeding him.
Story 1. Entitled brother, Mommy has ZERO authority over your brother's house IN your brother's house.
Story 2. Your extended family are MORONS
3. Bridezilla, pay your DJ FAIRLY!
Story 4. Use the 15-minute rule.
S1: that was actually one of the tamest parts of the saga, and the van OP mentioned was actually turned into a truck before he destroyed it.
When she said let your brother move in I would of said no OR WHAT BAHAHA and shut the door lol

“Do it for Dan” 🥺
The first story the brother does not deserve the house
Story 1: For those of you wondering, this story is in no way related to the “Do it for Dan” saga
Good thing, but i definitely got those vibes though.
But the lead few seconds sound like it.
Pathetic, a grown pulling the “I’m telling mumny on you!” op needs to set up cameras because likelihood the brother sounds like he might try and break in or cause property damage to op.
If u bought a property what gives your family the right to demand it for a crazy reduced rate
On the first story, before I let it get started, I KNOW exactly what to do, tell your brother NO.
"the name grampy was born from my inability to say grandpa" Wait... ROWLEY??
For 2 wouldn't be surprised if extended family gets less of a cut of a will
This is so motivational that's why i blocked my family
Not the jerk because it was your house not his house he needs to learn that you can't get every for free your parents are jerks and he is a huge jerk he needs to stop

When a partner demands your attention to make them feel better but completely disregard your feelings that is a toxic person
how tf does the brother in story 1 see the world that way??
