The theatre was fantastic! It was incredibly exciting and a pleasure to see the stage version of such a globally beloved film in person. Even though I have watched Spirited Away many times, I was thrilled to see the stage version’s adjustments and new elements, like the music arrangement, new songs, and dances. Not to mention, the set design was absolutely wonderful. Today is definitely marked as one of the best days of my life. Thank you to the entire production team and cast for bringing this production to the stage!!!
I saw it today, it was amazing! Mone Kamishiraishi as Chihiro was definitely a highlight, but the whole cast and crew did a fantastic job, the show was magical!
i assume it's in japanese? it says on the website that there will be subtitles. How were they displayed?
@@mynamsaj98 yes, it was in Japanese. There were three LED panels around the stage that displayed surtitles - two on the sides and one above the stage. The one above the stage wasn't visible from the front rows in the stalls, so you had to look away to read subs on one of the side panels. Not ideal.
@@maciej3212 ahh okay. I'm gong to be seated towards the side and in the middle so hopefully it'll be easy to read. I won't be mad if i can't see the subtitles though since i know the story very well
I saw it too a couple of days ago while on vacation in Europe. Amazing show! I had the less expensive seats and it was still great. Can’t imagine how good it must be from the good seats. Could feel the energy in that coliseum at the end. Totally worth the price

There are several actors who play Chihiro, and one of them, Mone Kamishiraishi, was the voice of Mitsuha in "Your Name."
Mari Natsuki who plays Yubaaba in this production was also did her voice in animated movie❤

It was beautiful.
Absolutely out of this world! I cannot recommend this show enough and words/videos cannot do it justice. You have to sit in that theatre and watch the magic unfold! GO! It is worth every penny! ♥

Yuba-ba- actress is amazing. She also did the voice over for the original animation 20 years ago.

This is truly going to be great! Being a crazy number one ghibli fan, and Spirited Away being one of my favourite films ever, I can assure you that I’ve already booked the very front seats.

Saw it last night at the London Collesium. It was amazing!!
Wonderful. I think it is wonderful to perform it in Japanese. I cannot speak a word but I always prefer to watch his films in Japanese with subtitles as I feel the emotions more. I saw this film as an adult but it both took me back to my childhood and moved me on a deep spiritual level. He is a genius.

When Miyazaki was asked whether people should watch his animations in Japanese he said choose the version where you can most enjoy the visuals. This being in Japanese means I'd be reading rather than watching those beautiful set pieces and characters.
Nevertheless I'm glad this production exists and the story is passed to newer generations in a fresh format.
@@ebichu-dechu I don't think that's possible. If you are looking at the words you aren't looking at the screen. At most you can move between them.

@@AndyHibberdI can read the subtitles and watch the scene at the same time. For me the subtitles can help me with reading too.
We watched The Boy and the Heron in Japanese with subtitles by chance. My son (12) is not so much into subtitles, but he could easily follow the story, as 80 % of it are told by the visuals anyway.
If I didn't already know the story I would have had trouble keeping up with the story, but cos I know the film by heart it was fine
so excited to see it
