I love how cell shocked the guy filming is by his studio and the fact he himself looked out the window. ❤ I was 13 when spirited away came out my dad called me into the living room to watch it with him. I asked him what it was about but he had no idea but knew I would love it. It reminds me of thwt moment with my father so much. I very blessed he is still in my life today.❤ Thank you ghibli for creating this beautiful memory for me and my father. With such beauty and grace it will forever have a place in my heart and my fathers ❤

Usually I despise documentaries where geeks overpraise a subject that they can barely understand, let alone the deep subtle meaning of various details.Then they attach their own shallow world view onto the subject that has nothing to do with it. I think this documentary is a rare exception that is well thought and executed.

also this last trip to japan to Hiroshima museum. i understand he makes films for the children who survived. he always has a main character child. often a little girl who must learn to navigate life without parents. I recall he regretted as a child that his family did not help a mom and daughter they came across on the road. his stories are always full of lightness wonder and joy of discovery made with love for the children of japan. 🌸💚🌸💚🌸

This is quality work and very well thought through. Spirited away is my favourite Miyazaki movie and though I read a lot about it I'm forever curious about all the details. It still seems to hold so many mysterys. It's beautiful. The train scene especially as Chihiro seems to pass through the underworld/the world of the dead. Btw. I visited Ghibli Studio One a long time ago and it was a very touching experience. Fun fact: recently I read a news article about Dogo Onsen and seeing a picture of it, I thought it reminded me of Spirited Away. Didn't know Miyazaki actually drew inspiration from that place. Great work!

ハクの姿についても服装は1000年昔の貴族や武士の少年の着用した水干(すいかん)と呼ばれるものでヘアースタイルも同時代の貴族や武士の少年のものであまそぎと呼ばれるものです。
ハクや千尋の顔付きも日本人の少年少女によくある顔立ちですし(私の身内の子がハクそっくりです)物語の随所に神道や民間伝承からのインスピレーションを感じ我々日本人には千と千尋の神隠しは違和感なく素直に受け入れる事ができます。
海外の方にこの作品が愛されここまで分析される事に驚きと感動を禁じ得ません。
