Hey man thanks for the shoutout. You are entitled to your opinion. Lot of different points that can be addressed. A couple things I will mention is that the patterns for both Zelda and Pokémon matter when you think about why those patterns exists. Those Zelda games were meant as the part of the last big software push as the generation ends. Cheers!

All I want to see is reveal for it since so many Nintendo TH-camrs think it would be this year but I'm also on team 2025 as well since it makes more sense but there will be a reveal this year though.

I like your channel and I agree. Switch is still going strong and it feels like some people are so excited for new hardware that they miss how great the current game releases really are. I admit there's nothing I'm super hyped for that's been announced for 2024, but I am still playing Tears of the Kingdom and have tons of other already released games I want to try.

There is absolutely no way they release a 3rd generation of Pokemon on Switch after what happened with Scarlet and Violet.

They aren’t anymore. They had the biggest launch in Nintendo history but yet they still haven’t outsold Sword and Shield after the dlc is already out more than a year after the games came out.
The sales have flatlined because of the game’s bad reputation.

@@westonmeyer3110 The difference is less than 3 million copies, and that was before the holiday season. We'll find out in about a week. But Scarlet and Violet definitely is a bad example if you're trying to prove that Pokemon is losing traction on Switch.

It’s not that Pokémon is losing traction on Switch, it’s the fact that another generation of Pokémon wouldn’t do anything that Scarlet and Violet didn’t already do. At best you would have a Scarlet and Violet that runs better but looks exactly the same. Scarlet and Violet selling 10 million copies in 3 days should have meant that Scarlet and Violet could sell over 30 million in a year…or more, but instead the sales started to die down right after the holidays and the dlc didn’t give Gen 9 the boost in sales that the dlc gave Gen 8.
The Switch 2 is needed to fully realize what Scarlet and Violet could not while also giving the graphics a significant boost.
The first generation of Pokémon on a console uses the new power of the console to make a bigger and better game than the last generation on an older console while the second generation of Pokémon on a console uses most or all of the power of the console to make the best game they can on a system before moving on, a third generation of Pokémon on a console is completely redundant.

@@westonmeyer3110 Well my point was that I don't think that's a reason that they would release the Switch 2 sooner. They can and will still release Pokemon on the Switch 1 whether it's a new generation or not.

This one company based in Korea that produces LCD panels, is currently mass-producing an 8-inch LCD panel... And in the last months shareholders meeting, they highlighted expecting the fiscal year 2024-2025 to be their biggest year yet thanks to a partnership with a very large video game company based in Japan...
It was also at gamescon in august 2023 with tons of developers literally confirming that they had hands on and were filling out forms like NDAs and shipping information for their dev kits....

    Let's break the pokémon argument:
"They've never released more than two generations of Pokémon on the same console"
Yeah, and they had never released more than one generation of Pokémon on the same console until Black and White were made
    1 gen per console:
    GC: Red/Green/Blue
    GBC: Gold/Silver/Crustal
    GBA: Ruby/Sapphire/Emmerald
    2 gens per console:
    NDS: Diamond/Pearl/Platinum. Black(2)/White(2)
    3DS: X/Y. (Ultra)Sun/(Ultra)Moon
    Switch: Sword/Shield. Scarlet/Violet
They can just release another gen for the Switch and now make it 3 gens per console

    • @westonmeyer3110
      @westonmeyer3110 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

Gold and Silver were gameboy games.
The GBA didn’t last long enough for another generation(they also added remakes to the cycle so the generations got longer).

Im tired of hearing all these other youtubers swearing up and down that switch 2 is 100 percent coming out this year. They've been at it every year for the past few years. Nintendo had mentioned a ten year plan for the switch at some point last year or the year before, so for all we know it could be 2027 a full 10 years for the switch successor, and who's to say its a switch 2 and not another gimmick. It could be a situation similar to wii and wii u, very similar but different, or it could be a situation where its completely different. Nintendo had said 'we are always exploring new and interesting idea's' in an interview about the next console, so who is to say its not a completely new system, it could still very well be a hybrid system but be totally different from switch. Besides I think they could actually throw the internet for a loop and all of a sudden come out with the legendary switch pro, Nintendo is never predictable, at least they havent been in my lifetime.

It’s releasing in 2024. There is way too much smoke for there to not be fire. And no one is looking to Pokémon or any other individual game’s release schedules to be the main reason for this smoke. We are talking multiple news outlets corroborating the same 2024 release date. Manufacturing trails that suggest the system is already entering production etc. If it doesn’t come out 2024 I’ll eat paper and upload it TH-cam. Really we should be asking why it SHOULD come out any later.

@@Caleb_Bravo99 you think they will release and market a new console as a mid-gen REFRESH OF AN ALREADY 7 YEAR OLD CONSOLE and you believe they could also possibly do it in 2025 (basically 8 years old at that point)? Ye they might if Nintendo was absolutely determined to fail. Even cursory research into recent release cycles of any console would tell you this is a VERY silly thing to attempt.
Luckily we already know it isn’t a pro version as all mid gen refreshes including Pro and any other console revision of the sort have one thing in common. It must run the original console’s games natively ergo PS4 PRO natively runs PS4 games.
The new Nintendo console is exactly NOT that as its SoC, the T239 is not able to run switch games natively due to it being a different architecture. Just like PS5 with PS4 games, the console will need a translation layer of some sort to play switch games. This isn’t to say that the new console won’t have backwards compatibility but that it won’t run the switch games natively.

@@t_dappa No, I think the Switch 2 will release next year. I was pointing out that the arguments you made in your original comment are the exact same ones people said for Switch Pro, which obviously didn’t end up happening.
Besides, all this “smoke” you talk about doesn’t discount 2025. The people saying it does are the analysts which also believed Switch Pro would release in 2021.

    • @t_dappa

@@Caleb_Bravo99 the Switch “Pro” ended up being the OLED model. We have reason to believe this given the timings of the release of SWOLED and the expected “Switch Pro” coinciding and the unexpected projected longevity of the original Nintendo switch which would suggested a boost in performance which was initially planned was eventually pulled as it wasn’t deemed necessary. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that everything about the Switch “pro” just so happened to align with SWOLED. Given that we now know of something that is once again on the horizon, it would be wrong to state that nothing will happen as even the Switch Pro rumours brought about a new model.
Besides I don’t think Nintendo will try to ride through holiday period this year on just Switch sales, which are on a rapid decline. Most analysts agree that the optimal move to maintain the momentum that Nintendo has is to release a successor THIS year.

    • @t_dappa
      @t_dappa 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@Caleb_Bravo99 The Switch Pro happened. It's called the Switch OLED. Yes it didn't come with the spec bump that was initially expected but that's because of Nintendo deciding to pull back on the specs and instead market their product as a screen upgrade. Admittedly the reasoning for this decision is still speculated but many think that the og switch's success during this time period discouraged Nintendo from developing an improved SoC as it wouldnt result in a jump in sales that would justify the cost of R&D. What is certain is that, whatever the reasoning was, the Switch Pro became the SWOLED and so the analysts had indeed caught onto SOMETHING after all.
This time around there is way more smoke as much more information regarding the successor is readily available to find online (of course there are many fake leakers out there but a quick google search to places like famiboards filters most of that out). Furthermore the release timing of 2024 has been corroborated by multiple well reputed sources and news outlets. Unless Nintendo decides to pull another SWOLED, what we see is what we're going to get, and this time around it's too late for Nintendo to pull back on their successor as the T239 is already taped out and the manufacturing process for the units has already begun. The important thing to note here is that this essentially puts a time limit on how long Nintendo can hold out before announcing their new console. Reason one being that this is the point at which Nintendo has to worry most about leaks due to 'factory uncles' etc. They will want to control the narrative so they will only start manufacturing close to the time of unveiling so that they can reduce the risk of leaks. Reason two being the cost of storage. Given that Nintendo plans to manufacture millions of units they will once again try to manufacture as late as possible and as close to the release as possible to reduced the cost of storing the units before they are sold
Furthermore, Dev kits have already been sent out and we already know most of the specs of the new system. In terms of games, the year currently appears barren which obviously would make sense if there are many unannounced games coming to the successor, however if this isnt the case then we assume one of two things:
Nintendo has no plans to release games for a long stretches of the year (makes no sense and is a bad financial desison)
Nintendo has games coming to switch 1 and hasnt announced them and is leaving no time for marketing eitber (makes no sense and is a bad financial decison)
With shareholders keenly waiting to know what Nintendo's plans for the next year are it would be very very bad if Nintendo decides to do one of the two possibilities listed above.
OR it could be they have already wound down the prodcution of switch 1 games in order to make wat for tgames coming to a successor which will release during the supposed drought that is coming up revitalising Nintendo's momentum and pleasing shareholders with promises of next-gen games and impending success.
