Hey Josh, your ministry has blessed me so much. I came to faith through an Anglican campus ministry in college. I love the work you guys do and I’ve grown so much from it. I am thankful to the Lord for leading me to your channel as I pray through a call to ministry. I am praying for your health and wanted to encourage you that at least one real life person has been incredibly impacted by the work you do. Sorry for the ramble. Thank you so much!

@@j.reesebradley4771 hmmm. I’m not sure. I guess I assumed a lot of what is written came thru Him speaking to them in their mind. At least the parts that are revelations and not personal accts. Also, New Covenant, the Holy Spirit is our teacher, comforter.... things that seem like words would at least be sometimes a part of. There’s not a lot of documentation of how the writers of the Bible experienced or heard the Holy Spirit. I wish there was. Just vague comments like,” it seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us”
Obviously God knew this would be a struggle, so I’m embracing it. It must be good to press in and struggle to “know” His voice. (my sheep know my voice) So I’m not giving up. Continuing to pray for discernment.

I for one would not obey anyone who claims to be a Prophet or Apostle. Unless what they told me was in the Bible.
Too many are unbroken, deceived and all about themselves. They are not teachable and think they are above the Pastors and have the right to bully Pastors in to submission to them and their presumed authority.
The first thing we need to do is check out their fruits. Get a background check on them. Did they leave a trail of destruction.
A sure way to know a false Prophet is. They as a general rule. Usually hold their meetings in a. Hotel, Motel Ball Room. Where it is a neutral area. No church authorities there. They are free to act as they please.

I think one purpose of a modern prophet is the confirmation of something God has already spoken to a person about. The hearer is the one who judges the prophecy as to whether it is speaking to them or not. The hearer will hold onto the prophecy if it ministers to them, or put it on the backburner if they are uncertain, or reject the prophecy as unimpactful for them. I think prophecy is being given way too much weight and authority that is creating problems today in the church.

Does Justin Peters fit into that category ? I sense he really does want to help others not be pulled in to a trap of the false teachers however, it’s the way he does it (saying you have to basically have a low iq to not see certain pastors are false) I get it is hard sometimes to understand how some can be fooled by some of the more obviously false teachers with terrible doctrine but we do have to be careful how we approach that and find the balance between being loving and standing firm on the truth.

I believe, just because a lot of hypercharismatics are in error, doesn't mean calvinism is the answer. I also wonder why they use one scripture in Corinthians, to prove cessation. Also, it's ever so hard to preach salvation now-a-days, so if God used it as a tool for evangelism, why does it cease now at the hardest time, the last days? We need them like never before. Lastly, I just don't understand how they explain Acts 2:17. By their logic, the last days ended with Apostle John? God bless them, though.

We must come back to the Truth about what Paul said the Prophets must do and what the Church must do with the Ministry of Prophets!
Corinthians makes it very Clear what must happen with the Office of a Prophet!
Some say that they are Apostles and they are not and we also know some say that they are Prophets and they are NOT!

Lets go a step further than the prophecy of modern-day prophets as "not binding on the conscious" of another. There is the issue of knowing what prophets are & the identified prophets of scripture...and too many, way too many, are today laying claim to titles such as prophet who come no where near the definition of prophet identified by evidenced accuracy, personal integrity, accountability to the revealed written Word!!
And really???..."God's not going to hold you responsible for when you just don't know if it is God's voice"..."and even when you risk something for God even when you''re genuinely not sure & uncomfortable that the prophetic message you've recieved was actually from God. HOW IS THIS MASSIVE CONFUSION EVER to be interpreted as truly a word God has spoken?? There is a house & then there is what came 1st -- The foundation!! WE are the house. And the apostles & prophets the of New Testament ...the foundation... which are laid only once.

@@trevino37 Heresy is defined as something that is taught that denies or alters the basic/ foundational doctrines of the faith. This discussion about what to do with prophetic words isn't that. The Person of Christ, The Works of Christ etc....are the non-negotiables that make up the foundational doctrines. So heresy hunting isn't applicable here unless you are a cessationist which means you believe a doctrine of demons in which case you have bigger problems by far than you are accusing these guys of.
John believes if a prophet gives you a word that is in agreement with what God has been saying to you and you choose to disobey then it is sin. He sees it as disobedience to God. Josh is uncomfortable with that and believes obedience to a prophetic word isn't mandatory and shouldn't be.
I think it depends on what the prophet prophecies. If the prophet says "I saw God asking you to lay down something precious to you ." And you heard Holy Spirit say during your quiet time that day that He wanted you to fast college football this upcoming season because you were too into it and it had become an idol what would you do? Context, biblical agreement and many other aspects go into testing a word.
As for name calling. I know John and have seen enough of Josh online to know that they aren't children in the faith. 1 John 2 tells us that little children know their Father in heaven loves them and has forgiven their sin. That is child level Christianity. Young men learn the Word and learn to overcome the evil one. Fathers know Him intimately. John has been fathering in the Kingdom for many years and Josh is definitely in late second stage and moving into fathering since he is now teaching. So please cease the juvenile and nasty accusations. The devil is the accuser of the brethren and unfortunately he uses people like you who are open to doing his bidding.

Consider, then, the parable of the sower: When anyone hears the message of the kingdom but does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is the seed sown along the path. The seed sown on rocky ground is the one who hears the word and at once receives it with joy. But since he has no root, he remains for only a season. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, he quickly falls away. The seed sown among the thorns is the one who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful. The only thing that G-d requires us to obey, is his commands in scripture. No where in the bible does it say we have to obey prophecy. No where in the Bibles does it say if G-d in dealing with you on one topic and a prophecy is given to you on the same topic, then its from G-d and you have to Obey. No where in the Bbile does it say G-d will reveal extra commandments thru prophecy. This whole topic, alomg with your questions and answers are unbiblical and your conversation is lacking in biblical teaching and foundation.
Your whole topic is man-made and man-taught. It is not in scripture and at no time does the Bible even discusses this topic as to obeying prophecy as broad as you have made it. It is not in the New Testament. If someone came to you with a word of propehcy, the bible says to test the spirit, and test the prophecy that's it; Because in today's setting, 99.99% of the time, individual prophecy - as you discuss- will not be from G-d.

I try very hard to stick to reading God's Word as literally as is possible
    www.philvaz.com/apologetics/a106.htm
A denomination is defined as existing within a specific country.
There are 33,000+ total of these "Christian denominations" in 238 total countries.
These 33,000 are subdivided into "6 major ecclesiastico-cultural mega-blocs", and ordering them by denomination size we have (I am rounding up or down slightly for convenience, using year 2000 figures) :
    Independents (about 22000)
    Protestants (about 9000)
    "Marginals" (about 1600)
    Orthodox (781)
    Roman Catholics (242)
    Anglicans (168)
So the 33,000 number is from the total of these 6 mega-blocs:
    22000 + 9000 + 1600 + 781 + 242 + 168 = 33,000+
In order for there to be 33,000, they must have at least one doctrinal difference between them or there would be some lesser number of them.
I blame one thing and one thing only for that gargantuan mess INTERPRETATION.
2Pe 1:20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
2Pe 1:21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
Now, how many private interpretations are there that account for 33,000 different Christian sects?
Here is the kicker, if you were to ask anyone from any one of those which one is the true church Christ started, every last one of them will say that their church is the Church the one Jesus started, ask them how they know and the vast majority will claim the Word of God and The leading of the Holy Spirit as their authority.
No all of them are based on their own human founders teaching that he or she preached as the beliefs that would go on to found some huge denomination, the Bible is not their authority, what their founder taught that the Bible said is their authority, that is a big difference from what The Word of God plainly says and what 33,000 founders taught that the Bible says.
so I am eternally grateful to God the Father and Jesus the Son, that I was not indoctrinated by the two denominations I have been a part of.
This leaves me free of any doctrinal glasses strapped on me to interpret the Scripture by some doctrine of man.
I have debated various people and I am never surprised as they try to convince me by what their doctrine says that the Bible says.
How many times have I posted back and forth with people who are saddled with some doctrine of man that interprets the Word of God according to their already held dogma?
Many are as blind as the Pharisees and Sadducees, those people could not accept Jesus because that would mean giving up their life they had from being the elite of Israel and had their wealth from being in those positions
Joh 11:47 Then gathered the chief priests and the Pharisees a council, and said, What do we? for this man doeth many miracles.
Joh 11:48 If we let him thus alone, all men will believe on him: and the Romans shall come and take away both our place and nation.
Joh 11:49 And one of them, named Caiaphas, being the high priest that same year, said unto them, Ye know nothing at all,
Joh 11:50 Nor consider that it is expedient for us, that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not.
    Joh 11:51 And this spake he not of himself: but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus should die for that nation;
Joh 11:52 And not for that nation only, but that also he should gather together in one the children of God that were scattered abroad.
Joh 11:53 Then from that day forth they took counsel together for to put him to death
They could not accept Jesus because they had their position and wealth because they had been placed in those positions by the Romans.
It is the same today as back then, the pastors live from the offerings of the church, the bigger the church the better the salary and benefits packages they can get from a church they are trying out for.
How much has the true gospel been watered down to appease the people so they will give better tithes and offerings?
how many preachers and pastors are gonna miss Heaven because they watered down the true gospel to maintain their wealth from the tithes and offerings?
nothing new under the Sun, what satan did with the Pharisees and Sadducees he has replicated with the preachers and pastors in the NT church.
Thank God there will always be a remnant that will not follow the way of Balaam
    2Pe 2:15 Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;
2Pe 2:16 But was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb ass speaking with man's voice forbad the madness of the prophet.
Jud 1:11 Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core.
Rev 2:14 But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication.
those that hold and teach the prosperity gospel are gonna wish they could take it all back.
Ecc 11:3 If the clouds be full of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth: and if the tree fall toward the south, or toward the north, in the place where the tree falleth, there it shall be.
however you leave this world, that is the way your tree falleth and will remain.
if you got it right you will be welcomed into the joy of the Lord, if you got it wrong then you will have all eternity to kick yourself for getting it wrong.

My Big question is this, this guy is starting a church ... but can't define Sin? WHAT? Bro do you even read your Bible, Sin is lawlessness. The law is defined by the word as 1. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, strength. 2. Love your neighbor as your self. On these hang all the law and the profits.
Test the word by the word. Sin is transgression of the law.
    WOW!

      Anomia- lawlessness, iniquity, disobedience, sin.

The apostle John declares that sin is the transgression of God's commandments (I John 3:4, KJV), including the two great commandments Jesus spoke in Mark 12:28-31. The word translated as "sin" literally means "to miss the mark".

I bet thats the same thing the pharisees and sadducees said of Yeshua. (He was offensive and challenged their man made rules of religion) I also see you find the biblical definition of sin (as I stated above). I disagree with your definition of hamartia (sin as used in 1 John 3:4) it literally means sin or offense. Not missing the mark. So as I stated in my original. Post, How is it that we have pastors who can't even define Sin? May the Lord remove the scales from your eyes and give you eyes to see and ears to hear.

Your behavior is offensive but I am not offended. I am simply an older man of God correcting obvious sin. Stop excusing your behavior by appealing to how the religious leaders of the day might have perceived Jesus - you aren't Him, nor are you behaving "like" Him. I Think you guys are young unlearned chritians, thinking you can create a video to discuss a topic that is hot for today. Unfortuntely, based on the questions and answers, you both are seriously lacking in learning from scripture and are not equiped to teach anyone, Its better you hold these conversations in a gathering with other christians and leaders as a learning forum instead of misleading viewers with your answers that are not even biblical and stop spreading heresy. Go back to church and learn guys. Teaching erronously does more harm to the body of the church than good. At this point, this whole video needs to be removed due to serious scriptural error. This is not a game to learn and play with.
