Wow, just the review and specs I was looking for on these cheaper models. I'm the kind of guy that goes to BestBuy or Costco and see these $1,000+ TV's and am amazed by the picture quality. Then I come home and believe my 7 year old Samsung looks just the same, hahaha. So this review really helps me out to know what the real difference is. I appreciate your detail, honest opinion, and just the plain facts and truth. Thank you! Basically looks like the CU7000 has newer Tizen and Bluetooth. Both are important factors. Both have eARC HDM I noticed. Looks like I need to stick with the CU7000. Feel like the TU690T is not noticeable step up from my current 7 year old TV.
Hi Steve , after returning 43" Toshiba C350LU which I really liked but wanted to upgrade to 50" Samsung TV ,, I really wanted to come home with one of these Samsung models ,,, But what my eyes were used to seeing on my Toshiba , I didn't see on neither these Samsung TVs . Except only the sony Qled which was way out of my price range ,,, thus was the closest to what I was seeing on the Toshiba 50" C350LU . No bias towards Samsung mind you,, but the Toshiba 50" just looked much much brighter , great viewing angles, brilliant vivid colors for my taste. So I come home with the 50" Toshiba C350LU . Not disappointed at all. Your videos are honest and such a learning tool ,, plus your knowledgeable in this world of hi tech . I Give you two thumbs up !!! Thought I share my experience with you . I'll keep watching / keep learning . P.S. I know in the near future I will one day come home with a pricey Qled TV ... lol thanks William
Just bought the cu7000 for my rec room/ sun room. Gets delivered on Friday and I’ll let you know if I got the color bleed version. Also I believe this model has the hdmi 2.1 capability for when that comes out. I’m worried about edge lit vs. direct lit but this review made me more comfortable with getting the edge lit
Got the CU7000 i enjoy it, tbh never had a "high end" tv😂 never had a need for one i got a ps5 and got this to go with it. I love it. My remote looks the same as my sound bars thou so its confusing at times 😂 but ill get use to it
We are buying the DU8000, but it is the first blue tooth TV we've owned. Lots to learn. We have an old 50" Samsung but since we're in our late 60's not very tech savvy. we want a beautiful picture, ability to connect with blue tooth speakers because our hearing is getting old too. We connect our pc tower to the TV as the monitor so we can surf the internet. We have over the air antenna local service. Basically, I Just want to feel like I can reach out to you if I have a question. Thank you for your videos. They've been helpful.
Steve, thanks for another hands-on review. It's great to see your real reviews rather than the AI generated BS. I wish you would have said more about the differences in the interfaces. For example, was the CU7000 slower to switch apps? And some of the Costco reviews talked about the CU7000 having a known problem of dropping the wifi. Did you have any issues like that? Thanks. And happy holidays to you.
Great review. Dad's TV just died and recommending the cu7000 Main reason is extra HDMI port. Why do we still have TV input? I need 5+ HDMI's or have to use a converter.....grrrr! Cable DVD/Blu-ray PSx Other
Hi Steve, I have been searching for a good 55 inch tv with a budget of $400, but still can’t decide which tv has the best pic quality. I am r really frustrated since i have to buy it online and it’s confusing. I would appreciate it if i could know what’s the best tv available in the market in your opinion?
Hi Tech Steve, my husband and I are in the market for a new tv and the biggest issue we are finding is the sound quality of the newer TV's Can you tell me what the sound quality of the CU7000 is like? We really don't want to go down the path of having a sound bar, we are looking for a decent tv with decent sound..thanks
Personally i don’t use TV speakers especially if you watch movies. Invest in a small Samsung soundbar with a subwoofer. Game changer especially if you get on with rear speakers
I just bought the CU7000 58" here in Colombia which is basically the same TV but with a DVB-T2 tuner in it. Mine does not show the left and right edge bleed that your video shows. I joined your website you mention but not sure where to go to post in "your community" so that I can post a picture of mine without the issue yours is showing?
On RTINGS they say the TU690T "has a wider viewing angle, as colors remain consistent at a wider viewing angle than the CU7000". See on RTINGS "Samsung TU690T vs Samsung CU7000" the side by side comparison review.
Hi Steve, I had a problem with buying a Samsung CU8000 TV and I'm planning to buy an LG TV of the same category as this Samsung model. If I'm not mistaken, it's called the UQ7500. My question is, do you recommend it for PlayStation 5? Because you said before, I can get good results with CU 8000
Just watching this as we are needing a new tv. I have always purchased Samsung, and want to stick with that brand. I noticed that this CU7000D series doesn't have any RCA ports. Do you know of a TV that still has these ports for a sound system?
That CU7000 does as well as our sound bar, so I think that's a good purchase. Costco online has a good deal on that TV. $499 for a 65-inch CU7000. Thanks for the review on this one.
Hi Steve, this is an off topic question related to one of your previous videos but I have a Vizio m512ah-6 soundbar with atmos, a ps5 and an Aorus fv43u monitor. This monitor doesn’t have passthru ofc therefore connecting the ps5 and the soundbar to the monitor via hdmi2.1 is useless. How can I get 4k120 on my games and still get atmos out of my soundbar? I feel like I basically need a splitter that I can connect my ps5 to, then send the signal to both my monitor and soundbar. What do I need to make this possible?
I just bought a CU7000 and only because the cheaper TU690T was sold out and I also have a slight light bleed as well and it's annoying once you notice it.
When I use my USB drive to watch movies this TV goes left to right only instead of being able to go down and up left to right is there any way to change this.. For it to go any direction I need it?

@giosant5327 ya I was looking it up. There are lots of games. For me, the only games I play that are available in 120hz are COD. So as nice as it would be for those games, I'm not willing to spend that much on a tv to have a little more crispness when playing COD.
