Nice looking VAN or SUVAN due to three rows of seats. Chevy NEEDS TO offer two row seating with storage well in lieu of seats like they used to have in mid to full size wagons for these vehicles...

I have a 2020 Traverse. Even though you may not be able to shut the tailgate Can you still lay a 4x8 ft piece of building material in the back with the second and third row seats down.
7:52 actually anyone in the third row is looking directly at that enormous C-pillar. The only way to see through that window is to uncomfortably turn your neck way over. Cool design from the outside but very impractical from the inside.
Kind of curious how well all the electronic gizmos are going to age, especially those big fancy screens. I seem to remember Andre had issues with the screens in his Colorado, and it was a whole lot less whiz bang than this thing.
Very nice aesthetic design, but I'm terrified of the "new" 4 cylinder turbo engine. I've owned too many 4 cylinder turbos and fully understand that they are not ideal for longevity. After 75k miles you're best served to run as far away from a 4 cylinder turbo as possible. Also, first gen turbo engines almost always have major issues to iron out. Better to wait 2 years to buy the vehicle as it gives the engineers time to realize/ correct those issues. Meanwhile, a proven V6 can run 125k miles without any major issues (assuming proper regular maintenance). That's another 4 years of vehicle life for the average driver, which is a huge deal when paying $50k for a vehicle. Also, this vehicle is probably 4500lbs. Anyone who has driven the new 1500s with the 4 cylinder turbo engine know all too well how big of a turd a 4 cylinder turbo feels in a truck/large vehicle. The MPG difference isn't worth the trade off.
What's with the annoying beeping when a door is open on domestic vehicles? "Yes, the door is open because I opened it. So what are you telling me that you think I need to know?" Grrr, drives me crazy!
Always felt the new Blazer was priced too high. A current RS Traverse AWD is not much more then a Blazer RS AWD, but that will surely change with these new models. I expect prices will be bumped up quite a bit to distance itself from the prices on the Blazer. Would be cool to have them introduce a Z71 version of the Blazer now, that would be cool.
For sure, the turbo is going to add a couple of thousand to the price just by itself. I would rather pay less, get a v6, and use the $2,000 to buy gasoline and make up for the 4 MPG difference for the lifetime of the vehicle
I like the redesign. We have a ‘20 Traverse and this looks much better. They are very good on interior space. We also have a ‘17 Tahoe and the Traverse has more interior cargo capacity.
I would definitely hop on that 2024 if you don't mind the four banger. I have a feeling that once it hits real world driving that people are going to run away from it like it's covid. They will probably have to shrink it a foot or so as part of a mid cycle refresh, just like Mazda had to do with the CX-9
Nice truck! But part of the problem why new trucks are so expensive now. How many people will be able to afford this truck? If the second screen breaks, it looks like you wont be able to change the temp and other HVAC options.
So here's another one. So many vehicles now coming out with smaller turbocharged engines in place of more robust and reliable naturally asperated engines of higher capacity. Also not sure why they have put that ridiculously large airplane tail at the C pillar. it takes up so much space that the rear passengers hardly have any view out the side window at all. Another thing that ticks me off is lack of drive train options on most American and Asian cars. I mean, why can't they offer this with a 4 liter V6, or even a 6.2 liter V8 with rear wheel drive architecture. Oh, let me guess, all to do with fuel consumption imposed by the powers that shouldn't be. It's a pity, because I really do like the design and the upgraded interior.
Its not, its a unibody station wagon, what would have been impressive is if they made a Canyon based SUV to compete with the 4runner/Wrangler. How many different crossovers does GM need anyways.

We just bought a 2021 Chevy Traverse LT AWD that has a selectable 2WD, AWD, and AWD off-road. My question is, what is the difference between the offroad mode that mine currently is and the one the the new Z71 is getting? Outstanding interior. The big display, column shifter to add more storage space, unified panorama roof, etc. I have a 2018 Traverse and I love it, this new model is a great move forward.
Of course you realize that they felt the need to move the shift lever to the column from the console in order to create that storage space for your purse or nurse. It does not have a sporty feel at all with a column shifter. And it does seem like a confusing trade-off because these days the shifter is just connected to a couple of wires, not a mechanical linkage. It seems they could have kept the shifter on the console, so I'm assuming it was a choice to move to a column shifter. I don't mind the column shifter in my crew cab truck but no one would ever accuse it of being sporty. These Traverses , at least the 2023 model handle very well and can it be fun to drive even though you don't get to slap the shifter around like you would for fun in a pilot or CX-9. Same thing with the Honda Accord. The MPGs on the 2013-17 v6 are about 35 or so. Then Honda replaced the beloved v6 with a 4 banger turbo that’s less efficient. Sadly most car makers have gone that route. The v8s are becoming v6 turbos, v6s are becoming 4 cylinder turbos and the 4 cylinders are becoming 3 cylinder turbos. That how I see it. Plus I also have a traverse myself and I would never swap it for this redesigned traverse. It looks okay but hideous to me. I’m keeping my 2021 model.
This thing is looking sharp! It’s the first “divorced headlight” design I’ve seen from anyone that actually looks decent. It must be due to it’s similar Suburban front end. Glad to see more off road models and that twin clutch unit seems like a great step forward.
I will never understand the appeal of the Dual clutch. There was so much raving about the Mazda 3 when it was first introduced with a dual clutch transmission. I was excited to go drive one. I got over my excitement within the first 5 MI and haven't considered a dual clutch since. I'll take my 9 speed & a torque converter, thank you very much
@@ginakerry2588 this is going to have a regular auto. The twin clutch is in the rear drive unit to help with torque split, similar to the Bronco Sport Badlands and Maverick Tremor that have it, it can also be locked up to split power 50/50 side to side.
1. Looks good from the outside 2. No vented seats even in top trim- fail . 3. Tiny window in third row -fail 4. Super dark interior, hopefully a lighter interior is offered 5. Been using these vented seats...when the car is already hot it takes forever to even notice a difference. Whether a car has it or not definitely is no game changer imo. Heated steering is a requirement in my Midwest neck.
I mean, it looks alright, I typically hate Chevy’s styling but, they seem to be doing a decent job updating it. I’m still a Ford guy and I’m more looking for something a little smaller like a 2-Row fuel efficient vehicle like the new Subaru Forrester. The trickle down of the new modernized interior and Infotainment system from the Escalade is nice.
They brought back the Iron Duke! New and improved, with a turbo! Dang nabit! 4 X the output of the previous one, of 40 years ago. Going for good gas mileage again.
I dig it but not all of it... First, the new eng/trans is more powerful, they say for now more fuel efficient but will it be more reliable??( im the kind of person who keeps his car like 10-12 years, got a 2011 Traverse still running strong)....... I hate when the dash is all thouch screen like this, i hope the base model will keep the physical control. The guy was amazed by the third row window, did he know the last Traverse had a bigger window than this one??
Beautiful! Yet when they make them big screens on that angle towards the driver side it make sense as he is in control yet in my opinion it makes the passenger somewhat isolated

Z71 looks good but that approach angle looks iffy at best. It's more dirt road capable than off road capable. Truck King did a video on the Pilot Trailsport and they had the problem of while it was an "off road" trim, they just didn't have the clearance in the front to keep from bashing the rocks.
I’m not of fan of 4 cylinders, especially, turbo-charged. I don’t think I’d try to tow 5000 lbs for a long distance. Hopefully, they’ll consider other engine options.
@HDHQDIRECT Yes, but I've never seen Nathan's knees up against the back of the first row in any other crossover that large, and Nathan is short of leg and long of torso.
Thanks Ethan, love the changes here on the Lambda platform, if it's still called that. Having owned a 2008 loaded Outlook XR with only 115K and a wife who complains about its not high enough, I'm interested in the Z. GM styling is spot on for the Chevy, storage still weak but better. Wish the USBs and other connections were place on a downward angle to prevent glove box junk from falling into them. looking for more reports on this one.🏁👍
I want to know about longevity, reliability with that 4 cylinder turbo!! Any thoughts anyone?! I have a 2012 Impala with the 3.6 V6, it's been incredibly reliable.... so? 🤔
It basically is a minivan, the point is they try to make it look like a truck so people don't have to be seen driving a minivan. Minivans do have their uses.
Does it look better? Yes! Does it have nicer interior? Yes, does it save more gas? Probably with that heavy body and 2.5L turbo, who knows. Now does it last longer than traditional v6 engine? Time will tell 😂😂😂
For as big as it is, that 2nd row space isn't great. Cool that they followed Ford's lead (with the Timberline Explorer) in offering an off-road version. Is that new 2.5 Turbo a short-stroke version of the L3B? Torque is likely limited for the trans, so that rating should be available over most of the operating range.

Just bought a 2023 today. Last of the V6's
Just got mine z71. Love it and super cruise is awesome
Greetings from southern Ontario Canada I really enjoyed the video looking forward to seeing this crossover here
Chevys new designs are leaps and bounds better. The Z71 looks amazing!
The exterior looks awesome. Maybe it's just me, but I do NOT want a red dash trim. I hope they will give other options!
Can’t wait till you all can take these out for a drive! Great work, Nathan!
Nathan seems chill today
Overly so.
Nathan’s a chill guy.
One thing i see missing is the rear seat window shades. I wonder if they will be available later
1. Looks good from the outside
2. No vented seats even in top trim- fail .
3. Tiny window in third row -fail
4. Super dark interior, hopefully a lighter interior is offered
5. Console is all piano black -fail
6. Vents in ceiling - Very good for car seats
7. Car seat frindly second row - very good
8. Volume knob - at least its there
There is no option except black for an interor color - Fail
Been using these vented seats...when the car is already hot it takes forever to even notice a difference. Whether a car has it or not definitely is no game changer imo. Heated steering is a requirement in my Midwest neck.
Vented seats are standard in the RS as are heated rear seats.
Most three row SUV have full windows in the third row. This one barely has any window. Car sickness central.
Beautiful looking car, now just work on the reliability, mine spend more time in the shop than it does on the road
its really nice looking, but all those power train changes are a clear sign to steer clear for the next 3 years until the bugs are worked out!
They brought back the Iron Duke! New and improved, with a turbo! Dang nabit! 4 X the output of the previous one, of 40 years ago. Going for good gas mileage again.
Is this turbo 2.5L related to the 2.7L turbo in the Colorado?
Someone mentioned it's basically a de-bored 2.7. Cannot confirm
I am so happy the v6 is gone. Now you can tune all the chevys and even get more power.
Good job just hope the engine last like the V6 I have been around the world 5 times .
how about switching the names of blazer & traverse just someone in marketing needs to really think about this one?
Personal would trade up the two 17 inch screens for a V6.. Don’t need to blind by the screens.. got a iPod tablet that does that…
So it's just the Blazer with a different Tramp stamp 😂
WOW that RS is BEAUTIFUL 🔥
Wow! The new Traverse looks far more refined & luxurious than the Telluride/Palisade. Way to go Chevy.
It’s may look but it’s not. The telluride and palisade are still better.
@@coletigrett7184
The only people who think the Telluride/Palisade "are better" than the Traverse are naïve Kia/Hyundai fanatics.
The Telluride & Palisade are "still" both *JUNK.* 🤣
Z71 looks good but that approach angle looks iffy at best. It's more dirt road capable than off road capable. Truck King did a video on the Pilot Trailsport and they had the problem of while it was an "off road" trim, they just didn't have the clearance in the front to keep from bashing the rocks.
I’m not of fan of 4 cylinders, especially, turbo-charged. I don’t think I’d try to tow 5000 lbs for a long distance. Hopefully, they’ll consider other engine options.
The second and third rows look tighter than they should be. The Traverse WAS known for a specious interior, but no longer...
That's because TFL has a disproportionate amount of above sized humans. Watch some other channels and you'll see how spacious they become.
@@HDHQDIRECT😂😂😂😂
@HDHQDIRECT Yes, but I've never seen Nathan's knees up against the back of the first row in any other crossover that large, and Nathan is short of leg and long of torso.
From the information that's out there, they didn't shrink the interior dimensions. The second row also slides back and forth
Interior dimensions are rumored to be the same or very similar
turbos wear out and a turbo charged engine handles higher pressures and will wear out faster too.
Great job Nathan!
I want to know about longevity, reliability with that 4 cylinder turbo!! Any thoughts anyone?! I have a 2012 Impala with the 3.6 V6, it's been incredibly reliable.... so? 🤔
RS model looks amazing
2nd row sunshades a must though. Hopefully sunshades will come on the production units for kiddos in the back seat (2nd seats)
Please look forward to the 60k+ price tag
I’m glad they changed the design! Have more of a truck look vs the outgoing model that looked like a mini van
It basically is a minivan, the point is they try to make it look like a truck so people don't have to be seen driving a minivan. Minivans do have their uses.
Turbo 4s are getting extremely powerful.
Imagine if they made the v6 turbos! They would be more powerful
I was going tomorrow to look at a 23 traverse RS but I think I’m going to wait until these come out
Does it look better?
My car was total lost two weeks ago so this is the Car. I’m waiting for ❤❤
100% Getting one, boom!! the design is amazing. Good job Chevy!!🔥🔥🔥
you going to wind up poor
❤❤❤it!! The more perfect size of the Big Tahoe 😂. Really a neat vehicle, Chevy like Buick has been doing really well this year! Looking forward to Cadillacs upcoming XT4 EV replacement
GM is killing it lately.

What are your thoughts on Chevy's adapted AWD vs a true 4WD
