The new Acadia and the Traverse look very good. I'm so over these tablet-style dash screens though. Just integrate it into the damn dashboard. Having to clean behind that tablet is annoying, plus if it breaks you're at the mercy of the dealership for repair/replacement, which is a 4-figure proposition. No aftermarket option as is the case with a typical in-dash unit. The LCD rearview mirror is a blessing and a curse. I've had both cars and two completely different driving experiences. 2013 Chevy Traverse nice and large, comfortable for long legs, heavy and felt like a truck. I liked that I felt very safe and the people tailgating me weren't as visible and annoying. I'm currently driving a 2019 Traverse with the 4 cyl turbo. It has great pick up to get on and off the freeway. Love the handling. Easy to park and feels very much like a quick snappy car. It's not as comfortable and I'm guessing it's bc it sits low the ground - not sure. But you certainly feel the bumps. It almost reminds me of my little 1970'g VW Bug. It's that much fun. maybe you can answer this question. with the super cruise , I was told you pay around $3400 for is and then after 3 years you have to pay for it monthly to use it and its features
No thanks. I have a 2011 Acadia I bought new in June, 2011. I do not want my doors opening automatically. I don't like doors that will unlock because I'm standing close to the car with the fob. The one issue I don't like about my Acadia, I can not open the rear hatch if there is no power to it. There is no emergency manual latch inside to open it and no ability to use a key from the outside to unlock it. I don't like the lack of security that comes with the fob technology where if you're close to the door, anyone can grab the handle and open you car. I also do not trust my life to AI. I'll do my own steering and driving. My next car will be old and I will pay a body professional to insure the car is solid and the body is rust free and protected. I'll pay a mechanic to rebuild or install a new engine. It might be an old vehicle, but it will be safe. My wife chose to purchase a new car with a fob. She wasn't happy when the battery died in her fob and she had no way to enter the vehicle.
Great car, but the V6 on the old Traverse and Acadia variants got nearly the same mpg. This just wins in fwd configuration on the highway by 2 or 3 miles per gallon (not that much).
Hey Nathan how did you like South Carolina & what particular part did you visit! Love SC born & raised! Living In The South That's What It's All About!👍
Hey TFL, how does one get picked to go on a certain press event? What if everyone’s available, how do you decide it? Do yuu guys decide it, or is it the automaker that does?
Good question: It all depends on the calendar. Some of us have events planned a year out, while others are free for last minute shoots. It depends on several factors, including the time, place, duration, vehicle and whether they will allow a videographer.
These new vehicles are nice and all. But the service at the dealerships are abysmal. They will sell you a car all day long. But when you need something fixed on your vehicle, they hold your car hostage for days to do a diagnostic and then it takes a week or two to fix something minor. My wife can’t even get her windshield washer sprayers fixed because they can’t find the part. And their answer is, “You can always trade it in for a newer vehicle.” Who can afford these cars nowadays?!
One thing that bothers me, no matter what manufacturer, anytime someone goes into the third row, they never ever move the middle seat up. So everyone is always on man the leg room isn't great. Move the middle seat to where a normal person would sit. And then talk about the third row. Again not saying it's this video but watch any other video, everyone slams the second row seat all the way back and then they wonder why they can't fit
I agree that GM is upping its game when it comes to looks and tech, but the real issue will be quality and reliability?? And as a result resale value?? Right now it’s still short of the Korean and Japanese’s equivalents?
Can these vehicles stop getting bigger? I swear my friend bought one of these 5 years ago that was closer to a ford edge. This thing is nearly an Escalade.
I think people will curb the crap out of the 22" wheels. My wife does it with 20" wheels. I like the overall look of the Traverse. But the GMC interior is nicer except for that awful screen.
People are stuck in the past. JD Power ranks some GM brands pretty high. Buick and Chevy are #3 and #4 in the entire industry, believe it or not. GMC is further down the list though - about mid. Not great, but not bad either. 10 or 15 years ago, they were pure junk... but to their credit, they seem to be turning it around. It just takes time for the public perception to change, ya know? People are still like "My 2009 Chevy was junk" - which was probably true. But it's not necessarily true now.
I don't care how good it is, im not buying another Acadia, or any GM product anymore, it was donated at 72,000 miles not running, after randomly rolling through our garage door in the middle of the night, 3 transmissions, an entire electric system, at least 5 battery's and one trip to the hospital after the back seat collapsed on my grandmother
To all the keyboard warriors in here saying "gm isnt bad because MINE was fine" shiuld spend some time in a GM shop. Its guaranteed income. Not one person in service drives anything from GM newer than 2013. They are hot garbage. Its not user error. We are puting in engines and transmissions literally every day. Don't even get me started on the steering amd suspension.
Meh, I don’t see getting this over a Grand Cherokee with the proven (ancient) 3.6. Just don’t get the upper level ones with the air suspension - better to get the Limited with the option groups.
I'm so disappointed in GM for the engine they put in the new Acadia & Traverse. My wife and I test drove one 2 days ago for her next SUV. We were so unhappy. It's very underpowered and works way to hard going up just slight hills. Should have stuck with the naturally aspirated V6. I mean, the Yukon, which is not much bigger now, has a V8! The interior is nice and we were pleased with everything except the engine. Shame!
My sister bought an Acadia. It's the last GM vehicle she'll ever buy. Within 5 months it broke something 5 times. She was lucky and got a lemon law return after 7 months when it's transmission broke for the 3rd time. GM is complete garbage company now.
More electronic garbage to glitch and break down and make car dealers unnecessarily busy and making money on non warranty parts. The best in class sized crossover, sad GM once again has gone even scandalously stingy offering just a 4 cylinder motor that get's not that much better gas mileage and real world power over its tried and true V6. It only saves GM manufacturing them while they squeeze more of their customers by charging way too much for what cost them very little to build and aren't known to be overall reliable. Non the less, it's an attractive vehicle and most likely will sell well ✌🏽🇺🇲
I watch junkyard♻ videos and 6-10 yo Acadias🚙 are regularly mechanically totaled and crushed, even though if rust-free with rip-free clean interiors. (AutopartscityIL)🚙
Some years are okay, but the early generation had some timing chain issues or something like that. Junk engines and even the transmissions are known to have some issues. I've driven a ton of these over the years from friends, rentals, and work vehicles and LOVE them, but I would be careful which year to buy.
If the Acadia has Terrain mode, will the new Terrain have Acadia mode?! 😋😆

My 23 Sierra at4 is the best truck I've owned, might have to add one of these, just wish it came with the baby Duramax
I’m just here for nate
Disturbing
🤘
Now I need an EV version.
The v6s have also all blown up...
Considering there's 2023 on the lots near me, GM better have made this a better model.. lol.
Hey Nathan how did you like South Carolina & what particular part did you visit! Love SC born & raised! Living In The South That's What It's All About!👍
These are a total new platform and this motor has got great reviews mechanicaly
Not an SUV but a mini van.
Price as is ?
Hey TFL, how does one get picked to go on a certain press event? What if everyone’s available, how do you decide it? Do yuu guys decide it, or is it the automaker that does?
Good question: It all depends on the calendar. Some of us have events planned a year out, while others are free for last minute shoots. It depends on several factors, including the time, place, duration, vehicle and whether they will allow a videographer.
@@NathanDAdlen thank you! I was hoping yall would cover it in the “Behind the Scenes” pod, but I didn’t see it. Safe moving Nathan!
GMC Off Road look package. Plus legendary GM reliability folks!
He had a boat connected but did not give any statements about power or handling with it. 😮
nathan, call us back in 6 month and tell us, again, how good it is!
LOL
What about the reliability? I love the looks and features but everyone says any GM products aren't reliable, even Consumer Reports.
But it's not necessarily true now.
people think that of all car brands. They keep ragging on Nissan for things that h a ppened in 2003 and 2004.
Nathan!!!
5280 miles baby
I don't care how good it is, im not buying another Acadia, or any GM product anymore, it was donated at 72,000 miles not running, after randomly rolling through our garage door in the middle of the night, 3 transmissions, an entire electric system, at least 5 battery's and one trip to the hospital after the back seat collapsed on my grandmother
On top of your grandmother??????
@@grouchosays You Betcha 😜
Where is the gear shift? Is it a button or knob bs?
To all the keyboard warriors in here saying "gm isnt bad because MINE was fine" shiuld spend some time in a GM shop. Its guaranteed income. Not one person in service drives anything from GM newer than 2013. They are hot garbage. Its not user error. We are puting in engines and transmissions literally every day. Don't even get me started on the steering amd suspension.
I've literally been saying this same thing...GM hasn't made a reliable vehicle since 2013.
Meh, I don’t see getting this over a Grand Cherokee with the proven (ancient) 3.6. Just don’t get the upper level ones with the air suspension - better to get the Limited with the option groups.
I haven't had any problems with GM vehicles.
Anything should be an improvement over the old Acadia/Traverse/Enclave. All hot garbage for years.
OK. So, the GMC or the Chevy?
The title says "2025." Did I miss something?
Its funny how they made the engine cover to fake rear wheel drive look. This is just a mini van like the caravan...
So HONDA , gave GM their and system in exchange for the electric platform for Honda’s Prologue!!!
What year? My mom's 2010 traverse lasted through 2019 without issue until she decided to trade it in for something bigger.
@@dtay8913 22 or 23
@chadfanton9994 My uncle has a 21 Silverado with under 100k miles and it's on it's 2nd engine and transmission...
😂😂 a one off situation....probably user inflicted.
Its a hit or miss with American cars. I own a 2015 grand Cherokee with 150k miles and it runs fine.
2024 or 2025? You said 24 and the title says 25?
More electronic garbage to glitch and break down and make car dealers unnecessarily busy and making money on non warranty parts. The best in class sized crossover, sad GM once again has gone even scandalously stingy offering just a 4 cylinder motor that get's not that much better gas mileage and real world power over its tried and true V6. It only saves GM manufacturing them while they squeeze more of their customers by charging way too much for what cost them very little to build and aren't known to be overall reliable. Non the less, it's an attractive vehicle and most likely will sell well ✌🏽🇺🇲
Usb C to A adaptors for a few bucks lol
More stuff to break, for the price of that ""truck" it should be good.
Mmmm, you said ranch.
2.5l 4 cylinder turbo. No thanks. Engine won’t last.
This is a 2024
Has this been recalled yet???
Its not a ford
@davidleeosbourne2727 ford didnt make international headlines for killing people 😂
2025?
I don't like that screen. I like the screen in my traverse much better.
GMC and 4 cylinder engine ? is that a joke ?
LOL... Piggley Wiggley.
Roman hires high school students because he’s cheap!
^000 pound vehicle powered by a turbo 4. V6 or nothing.
This!!!!!!!! is not Doug lol
Nathan ❤❤❤
🤡
I will say, a Honda crv could easily pass all tumbleweed ranch obstacles lol
JUST AS NO to I-4's from gm!
