Longtime lurker/watcher here! I used to own the 5 in 1 victrola and I LOVED it until I upgraded ti an audio tech/ edifier speakers. Sometimes I still miss that old Victrola lol
Would be nice if one of the companies that produce this type of record player could 'push the boat out' and use a different turntable, tonearm & cartridge than the Skywin type for a change.
be interesting to know if this has the same mechanics as the Victrola Empire , those built in speakers were fine for the most part, a bit boxy in a medieum to large room, the platter on the empire is larger, but I wonder if the tone arm, cartridge are the same? If so , a diamond stylus upgrade along with connecting this to a good pair of speakers can do wonders. That's what I did withthe Empire , they are hooked up to a pair of Edifier's and diamond from turntables needles and its a great sounding unit, Very happy with it. If the mechanics are the same then some simple upgrades and this could be a nice addition to any room.
Hey Record-Ology. Do you have any more of those Record-Ology 45RPM adaptors? If so, I'd like to buy maybe a few of those from you. If not, when do you think you'll be able to get in some more of those Record-Ology 45RPM adaptors? :) Please let me know either way ASAP. Thank you! :)
I have a Magnavox AM/FM/phono console with a ceramic cartridge from the 1960’s. It’s on the small side (relative to other console stereos of the era, not your Victrola in the video). I think it sounds great, but it runs on the slow side. Need to clean out the old grease.
In the mid-1950's my Uncle had a record player similar to this, with longer legs. Brand? Silvertone? Arvin? I don't remember much about it. Anyways, have a good week, my friend.
He referred to that in the video. It's excessive tracking force that will hurt your records. He says anything over 5 grams is probably not a good idea to play your records on. This one isn't that heavy.
First thing I noticed is the fake veneer on right & left sides of the lid are the opposite orientation to the base of the sides - just really stands out to me. That's poor attention to detail for me.
Well I like unboxing videos its like you said like I am opening the product myself I got the crosley dannsette with the legs it comes with the magnetic cart at-3600 the inside has the collegiate mechanism and this is what I got which I bought for the wife I did not like the victrola type cause of the ceramic cart the grill on this one looks terrible that unit looks like it was abused or used the height should be right to me the crosley looks better built I like the wood color on this but they should of used a better mechanism JRo
But it's that same mechanism...As long as it's that exact same thing, what is the point of reviewing every time it's in a new box? If even one person buys one of these...Would'nt you feel bad? Why, on earth...what is the motivation for promoting these things?
Well, I liked this one so I bought it. Now I have it and I’m happy. If you think of the Skywin mechanism as a singular part, it helps to put the overall idea in context. There are a lot of other impacts besides that part to the quality or lack there of of the finished product. In other words, they can sound vastly different. Things, such as impedance, matching, amplification, speakers, even specific stylus can make a world of difference. Plus, I like to review the overall experience which can be vastly different from a suitcase to a freestanding unit like this.
Classic Record-ology, I dig it. Always like to see the unboxing part too. 😎👍🇺🇲

I enjoy the unboxing portion!

I like the look of this
Oh yes missed the rubber feet shown later in the video. Good you can use the floor legs or the rubber feet for table or desk mount.
i think that this victrola unit is
perfect for your cottage in the country side.
a basic unit but it has it`s plus sides.
🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪👍👍👍👍👍
The Amazon description actually says that you can record records onto a USB with it. I haven't figured out how that is possible.
After you get better, do ya plan for another fan mail stream?
I would love to!
The bare metal leg sockets are a scratching concern if you use this on a peice of furniture. Would be good to put it on a felt mat.
Looks Great And Pretty Cool
Looks like about the size of a small end table. Wonder how it would look/work when placed next to something like a Lazy Boy type seat.

Good I put a similar one but with a somewhat large mat. I don't know if there is a problem with that
@Recordology How did you miss the option for BT OUT? You can stream records to a Bluetooth speaker. It literally said it on the box
Hi, thinking of buying one but can't find out for sure if it has Bluetooth out. Can you confirm?

We do! Check out our links in videos to our Ebay store. We always have the orange one and are about to change our alternate color out as well.
@@Recordology How do I get to you all's eBay store? Thank you!😀

Dan settle.
My IPad said Dan settle instead of “Dansette”
Is it true that these inexpensive turntables can ruin your records?
No
No. Record-ology and VWestlife has videos on this topic.
no
Yup

I like to know what's in the box
Indeed, it’s good for a bad room.

This is actually jvc or Victor but Victrola? Hmm maybe rca
Victrola is Innovative Technologies. GE bought RCA in the mid 1980s and broke it up. JVC left RCA in 1943, during WWII.

If your voice is not here nor there, whereinhell is it? Stundered minds want to know...
The legs are too short. If you are handy you could make your own.
