    WOW!!! Considering giving up my Audi 2015 Cabriolet for this 2019 C300 cabriolet. Excellent review. Thank you 🙌

    Did you say 70k for a C300? WOW MERCEDES. You’ve never been cheap but that seems ridiculous.

      I'll take an E-Class sedan for $70k.

    I would be fine with a 6.2 second 0-60 time but I could understand why that's underwhelming in a $70,000 car.

    I'm not a ragtop kinda guy, but damn, this looks g-r-e-a-t.

      It is. I talked my mom into getting it but it was expensiveee. It was 101k but I love that car to death so it’s definitely worth it. Mine had around 320hp and what he is saying it kinda not true. That car is loads of fun even in eco. That thing will fly past some cars. Not the best racing car but it still feels like it has a crap ton of power for something small like that.

    I have a 2018 version of this, sticker was $58K with options. This review is similar to my experience. Styling that gets a constant steam of complements. Power is fine for putting around town which is my use. Perfect weekend cruiser.

    It looks great. I find it troubling Steve that you repeatedly called a 255hp, 0-60 in under 6.5 sec car “underpowered”. Please don’t become like the rest of the 4-cyl hating automotive journalists. This powertrain is more than adequate, I’ve driven it multiple times prior to the refresh. It’s not a thrill ride but that’s why you can buy it for in the 60’s. They purposely reserve the juicy motors for those with a thick pocketbook. Beautiful car. Another beautiful review. Thank you !

      When a car looks fast and it shouldn't be slow. That's my point.

  • @adrianharvey3511
    @adrianharvey3511 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Good review steve .. but it surprised me that I sed it was underpowered.. them
    Numbers seem legit .. like the accord was similar powered by its 2 liter .. less hp but u enjoyed that power train.. what was the difference??

    • @stevehammes
      @stevehammes  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This just seems slow, especially for a car that has the AMG treatment.

    Underpowered compared to what other car exactly? The c300 is a non amg car and official test results show 0-60 in 5.6 secs in dry conditions. It’s not “wow” fast but it’s still fast. This car is a status symbol and built for comfort and style and that’s why you spend the money.

      seanzal I agree. Is not underpowered at all. It’s fast but not crazy fast.

    It is not under powered at all. You have surely driven a faster car before jumping in the c 300. it is not rocket fast but totally adequate for sport coupe( 5.9 sec). I drive mine ( c300 coupe 2018 9g) on the Autobahn and german Twisty country roads and it is a blast to drive. Of course if i had the money i would have taken the 400 then the c43 then the c63 and the list goes on

    • @lasuzx

      That car is plenty of fun. It really does have plenty of power for the type of car it is. It’s not underpowered at all like he said. I talked my mom into getting it and she loves that thing to death. It’s sooo much better then he says it is.

      @@lasuzx true. i have currently a mustang gt 2020 and i still think the c300 coupe is fast and very fun to drive.

    Hey Steve! Solid review. You look good driving that thing, I think it's time to pick one up ;). I agree about the power, but at the same time, I feel like a lot of people that do buy the base version arent concerned about speed or handling.

      You're probably right but $70k is a lot of money for something this uninspired.

    This seems to be the cruiser Mercedes C-Class convertible... suits the Florida retiree set who has more cash and doesn't want a Lexus convertible (I don't know the model name off the top of my head).

    • @stevehammes
      @stevehammes  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There's an LC convertible on the way but right now Lexus is without. The SC and IS convertibles were the most recent.

      Billy - I can't find your comment about the vacation vid though I saw it pop up on my phone...it'll be the GMC Acadia SLT.

    6.2 to 60 is pretty good but for 70K to get a 4 cylinder is pretty sad.All companies are moving towards this though

    • @lasuzx

      The engine that came in my moms is around 320 ish hp I think and it has a little turbo. It can do 5.9 so obviously that one has a little bit of a different engine

    • @lasuzx
      @lasuzx 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s still plenty of power for a car like that tho

    Mercedes still nickel and dime you for every little option for stuff that standard on a base corolla or even a Kia these days 🤦🏽‍♂️

    I have a C43 AMG Cabriolet. I love the car. It gets lots of looks and comments. It's nicely quick....sub 5 seconds and agile. BUT the tires and wheels are quite fragile. I've had 5 or 6 flat tires and 3 cracked wheels. I've had several other cars with low profile or run flat tires and not had this problem in identical driving conditions. I've noticed on several Mercedes Benz forums that others are having similar experiences. Mercedes Benz needs to address this issue.

      I bet you’ve never driven one yourself. It has more power then he is saying it does and can be loads of fun sometimes. It’s not boring at all unless you just don’t give a sh*t about cars
