This is a kinetic typography short I created because I absolutely adore Dylan Marron's voice work for Carlos the Scientist of WTNV, and I wanted to do something special for it. :]

@@doodlebrain6594 Back in 2015 I heard Condos so many times, that I memorize everything they said after the weather, including this. It's rough around the edges now, but still remember most of it.
It helped me get through some emotional turmoil back then. It's simply beautiful
the way I see it in my head is so fucking funny.
they're just sitting together - on the couch, at the table, on a blanket in the yard watching the glow cloud as the Sun sets, who knows, who cares? - and Carlos is rambling about nothing and everything and time, and then he says, "I just... uh, I thought it was time for us to build a home together."
Cecil: *staring, mouth open, wide-eyed*
Carlos: C-Cecil?
Cecil: *awkwardly yelling* YES!!
Carlos: *jumps from the sudden yelling* Whoa, okay, glad to know you're enthusiastic, love, but-
Cecil: *still awkwardly yelling* THAT WOULD BE- WELL, THAT WOULD BE NEAT!!
yeah no considering the actual context of it Cecil yelling made some what sense, but like also I headcanon your version so hard

Waitwaitwait what if Cecil falls asleep to it by accident one night and halfway through, he wakes up, hears Carlos's voice still speaking, and practically bolts up in bed thinking that Carlos is in the room with him, that he came home. What if tears well up in his eyes when he realizes that Carlos still hasn't come home.

I'm not up to date with wtnv, but this was so melancoholic and fascinating then it became adorable and...awwwww...
I stopped listening to wtnv few years ago, have no idea what's going on there and it's still brought me to tears. I still know these words by heart

It was played live so there's no violin version online, which is a shame, because the song and the writing and the video are gorgeous
here’s an transcript for people like me who are going to be wasting a lot of time memorizing this during quarantine, yeehaw!
Carlos: Cecil? I was thinking about the series of ongoing actions that we perceive as the present, and the amassing of memories that we treat as the living record of the past and the hopes and dreams and assumptions that we project as the future. I was thinking about time. And about how it means something to so many people, and about how it’s so finite, and also so infinite.
I was also thinking about space. About how it is nothing, and then, a point which is just a single spot within the nothing, and a line which separates the nothing into two nothings, and how a plane is a patch of nothing and an angle just where two nothings meet, but all those things combined, with an object of points, lines, planes, and angles, an object with length and width and depth that can take up actual space. Until that object becomes something made of nothing - within nothing.
An object can be a wall, a floor, a roof, a bed, a table, a dog, a door, a rug, a…a home.
And then, I thought about how a home is just a group of objects connected by a shared personal experience of time - our past, our present, our assumed future. A home is…I mean, uh, scientifically speaking, speaking form the point of view of mere facts and logic, and um…hmm. You know, what with science, and all…uhhh, I- I- I just thought it was…time for us to…make a home together.
Cecil: And I said “Yes! Yes! That would be, well, that would be neat!”

I needed to use a monologue for an audition class I'm a part of, and I chose this. I genderbent it(Cecilia and Carla :3) and cut it down a little (just a tad under 2 minutes so I don't get cut off), and it's amazing to work with. Everyone in class thinks it's adorable.

So this is amazing and I rewatch this every few weeks or so... I have a question: Have you thought about doing one for Cecil's speech at the end of Parade Day?
That and this are the two strongest speeches, imo, in the show thus far... And you did a FANTASTIC job with this one.
I've actually considered doing one for his speech at the end of Missing because that one hit me really hard! But Parade Day would be a good one to do, too. Gosh. I'll keep that in mind.

A few weeks ago, I got a chance to get both Condos and The Debate off of BandCamp. Of course, I've listened to the regular podcast episodes and was extremely happy when the creators of WTNV have a couple with two guys in it. It warmed my heart. So when I heard Condos....besides Carlos' new voice actor *damn cute man!* the fact that Cecil and Carlos relationship went to the next step just....I had warm fuzzies that day ^^

During episode 65 (voicemail) when I heard Carlos say “CECIL! oh honey voiced honey! You can visit now! I love you.” I literally paused the episode put my phone down and squealed for a good 5 minutes. I love them so much
i remember seeing this years ago before i'd ever heard of night vale, and coming back to watch it now when i've started listening to it feels so... complete? i don't know if that's the proper phrasing but it just makes me feel warm and part of a whole. thank you for this upload :)

"AND I SAID YES!" its so euphoric everytime the voice of nightvale loses his composure. Getting angry at _Steve Clarksburg_ or trailing off about carlos but. Or the nervousness sometimes in the earlier episodes when he talks to Carlos. Its 90% carlos that does it but-
This specific example. He sounds like hes jumping, his voice lowering slightly but LOUDLY. That " OH MY GOD!" sensation.

since we didn't see the proposal (because let's be honest with ourselves here, no matter who did it, or if they both did it, and you can't convince me it didn't happen, it would've been adorable), I think this is the most emotional we've ever heard Cecil? I mean, at the end there. Although on the topic of proposal, I don't know if I could handle hearing it and not seeing it /j - anyway, my point is, except maybe the end of the wedding, though I'm not sure on that, I think this is the most excited or happy we've ever heard Cecil :). Like, outwardly. Of course, live shows are always more enthusiastic, so maybe that's it. Anyways, this got way too long, my point is: Cecil's adorable. Side note, so is Carlos, equally so. No matter what happens to them, be it desert otherworlds or phantom oceans, they will always be adorable.
