    ABOUT THE VIDEO
    _
    In this video, I talk about 1984, George Orwell, totalitarianism, authoritarians, indoctrination, taking responsibility for your mind, and becoming unmediated.
    In 1984, George Orwell wrote, “the two aims of the Party are to conquer the whole surface of the earth and to extinguish once and for all the possibility of independent thought.” In the novel, the authoritarian party is interested in having absolute power over the thoughts of others. Why do they wanna control your thoughts? And how do they do that? That’s what I’m interested in exploring, and as always, I’m gonna explore this idea through a dialogue.

    Most people are convinced that "thoughts are free of consequences" and that is a pretty harmful mindset. The most hideous acts all started as small thoughts and it is _very_ important to take responsibility for them

      It’s as harmful as it is equally inspiring I would suggest. The debt we owe imagination is incalculable, good people doing nothing also stops bad acts. I agree that thoughts have consequences even if not acted upon. Your conscious can remind you of this, nobody gets away with anything.

      I don't think people should judge themselves solely based on their thoughts. We all have unwanted thoughts that pop into our minds every once in a while that we wish did not occur. Those thoughts are not us. Many of those thoughts are derived from our primitive brains when we had to fight daily just to survive.
      Judge yourself based on your *actions* because actions are what determine your character, not your thoughts.

    Great explanation, bravo. The fact that mind control is more powerful than violence in shaping our reality reminds me of a quote from a book I'm currently reading " The Things You Can See Only when you Slow Down". The quote highlights how our minds shape the reality we live in. This has no correlation to a totalitarian government in Orwell's 1984, I don't know if it is possible to draw such a connection. In the bottom line, being self-conscious of what happens around us and what we are really thinking about is what distinguishes us as individuals.

    The problem with being unmediated nowadays is that it's impossible to test and prove everything by ourselves. We have to rely on other sources because of the sheer amount of data there is. One human cannot hold all the knowledge, it would take way more time than our lifespan offers at this point

    • @momohat5088

      It better than to trust something so blindly.

    • @Aquablossom21
      @Aquablossom21 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Indeed. There is too much information out their for us to test for ourselves and we do not have the time, nor desire to, go through every information that is out there. For this reason I think the best way to go about this is to have a foundational knowledge on disciplines so one can have something to work off of. Having a foundational understanding on disciplines such as history (be it human or your own country), science, and philosophy can help with better thinking critically of the information you come across in life.

    • @igorgracchia5788
      @igorgracchia5788 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Aquablossom21 it is not about time or desire. A single person simply doesn't have access to expensive lab equipment to make the observations into the fringe fields, liek physics, that are being discussed nowadays. Sure, knowledge helps, but most knowledge that is widely available without a 40 h/week study like at a college is barely beyond high school level.

    • @Aquablossom21
      @Aquablossom21 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@igorgracchia5788 While it's true not everyone has access to higher education they don't need universities to learn the foundational knowledge of disciplines. If a person has access to a library they can learn the basic knowledge of topis from there. Furthermore there are TV programs, websites, podcasts, as well as channels on youtube, dedicated to providing basic knowledge of topics to a layperson. Universities, from how I see it, are for people who are pursuing a career that requires having a deeper understanding of topics they need for that career. So using Physics as an example, a person who inspires to by a Physicist would be attending a university to gain a deeper understanding of the discipline, as well as experiences working in that discipline. A person who is not seeking to be a physicist would not have need for a deep understanding of the discipline since it would not be relevant to their daily life. Instead all they need is basic knowledge of the discipline so they can be familiar enough to follow along if a topic relating to Physics ever comes up the news/discussions by pundits.
      Now if you were referring to people who live in certain parts of the world where they do not have access to a library as well as TV and the internet then yes that is true. When I wrote my last comment I was going off of the assumption that Belze Booze, as well as the video above, was more addressing people who do have access to media and in turn are more likely to be pull in different directions by what they hear from the media. If that is not the case then what I said earlier was limiting to only certain people in parts of the world.
      Do you have any ideas of how this could be address for people who do not have access to basic education?

    • @igorgracchia5788
      @igorgracchia5788 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Aquablossom21 You just elaborated my own point, indeed, foundational knowledge is widely available, but rarely does a common man knows much beyond, to stay on topic, gravity and electricity, that is how we get the 5G conspiracies.
      I have no idea how that could be addressed, but I am sure the answer that many here seem to be suggesting of being suspicious of anything on the media is not the right wat to handle it.

    I've lived that. I was in a church where "the pastor" (a female in this case) completely overruled our wills to make us submit to her and agree unquestionably to all she said. And it completely ruined my life. It has taken me years to recover. It wrecks havoc in your life. It reduces you to a robot who has been trained not to think a thought that even has the slightest mark of disagreement, or else. You live under fear and intimidation constantly. You are her prisoner without realizing it. You have no right to think independently or dispose of your own free time to do what you would like to do. No complying means disloyalty or rebellion and you don't want to see yourself as such an uncaring person, so you just don't dare say anything. You are really a puppet in her hands.
    When you are finally out from under her despotic system you have to rebuild your life, and then you realize at what point she has been running your life without you realizing it. It's not easy to regain your life and learn to be sovereign over your own life. You need to redefine who you are now, apart from that monopolizing destructive system, and it's a moment by moment process. But you can definitely get there and have a life that is a sustenance and support to others in their way out to their freedom.

      We share the same experience except this happened with my mother, Her strict negativity had completely brainwashed me into not only seeing the world in a certain way but also myself In a certain way that was just completely untrue. I have deep love for her and I know she tried her best to raise me as my family had been dysfunctional in my earlier child hood years (I’m 16 now). But as I’ve walked this path of self healing and wisdom I’ve come to realize that most if not all of my actions had stemmed from fear. Everything in my life there was always a voice screaming the negatives towards me, telling me something’s bad gonna happen you should run, that I wasn’t ready, wasn’t good enough. And it’s like I integrated those thoughts into who I was.But I learned that those thoughts are not me, and I am not what my mother made me. But even though I know this, unraveling the years worth of negativity and self sabotage inside is not easy. I also only stared my self healing journey in November of 2021. But I need to trust that I can do it, I need to rewrite my character, how I view myself, and redefine who I am, I pray you get through this journey to my brother🙏

My subconscious believes that it is making me safe by giving me fears and then I do my compulsively action to feel safe. It can make me feel controlled while also making me very interested in having control. I never have the control that I want, but my OCD can control me. I learned something important during my national service in the army. That was also before I read 1984.
    I had little freedom as a conscript, but I was not told how or what to think. The military doesn't care how you think, only what you do. So as long as I did the right things I was completely free in my mind. Life in the army is actually extremely simple and that allows certain people to thrive and climb the ranks if they wanted to. It was the happiest time of my life. I wasn't elated, I was just calm and content. That allowed the strong aspects of my personality to shine, namely being the secret therapist in my platoon.
    Civilian life is too hectic and complicated in comparison.

    Hi! I love your videos! Here're my thoughts on this: In today's world, it is quite difficult to have your own thoughts because it is difficult to discern the truth from what's not, and the credits go to the widespread of social interaction through digital mediums. Although I'm not against social medias, the systems that govern these platforms use it to, in a way, indoctrinate their ideologies onto the viewers. Again, I'm not against anybody here, but the term "influencers" does have a relation to the discussion here and that's the reason why it's now more difficult than ever to actually have freedom in thought... See what I did there? 😂 Also I have a small idea for you, let me know if you have some time on your hand to give it a try! Peace!

    Do the story goes I was just minding my own business at the movie theaters, I ALWAYS like to be organized and have a backpack with me, anyway out of no where a complete stranger tried to tell me “to marinate on taking it easy” I know I’m feeble-minded but how do I solve this?? I keep on ruminating about the negatives, why?

    What if you do not want to obey, submit, comply, revolt, or indoctrinate? As well as what is the objective definition of isolation… is someone ever really truly alone, idk. Yet, I do know people feel lonely in this world when they are constantly around other people- loneness is a subjective experience yet so many individuals experience this objectively. Personally, I am more satisfied being alone, it feels less lonesome and I control my environment more; especially, what I choose to stimulate me. Sometimes, I like my privacy too, why does everyone have to know what your learning these days; cannot topics peak an individual interest? However, even I dry a line to conspiracies which I acknowledge it as a fake theory. [I am not going to do discuss what is fake, true or false, and what is a truth versus trues.]
    Though all in all, from what this video was implying, I do like the thought of mind that your being can choose to be unmediated 🤔…

    If you don't have control over your mind, someone else will control it for you. Seeking truth means exposing yourself to errors and failures and these are necessary in finding your path. The moment you start having fear gives an opportunity to others rule over your mind.

    Become and remain ungovernable, In the US our founding fathers thought about this and this created a constitutional Republic and not a democracy though many have been told that the opposite is true. It’s good to see this in a digestible video.

    How to deal with people who oversimplify things?
    Things like vaccination. There's lots of false content regarding it, but not everyone can go to a lab, perform enough tests to make sure that it actually works, the logic is legit, and we should all get vaccinated.
    And still, it is a rather simple subject.
    How to deal with these situations?

    You can't always control what your mind says about an experience or what pictures it paints for you about a situation, but you can accept that the thoughts are your own. And by accepting that, you can then choose to take responsibility for them, whatever that entails.

    Can you explain me the difference between Truth and Fact. Everybody says scientific facts but not scientific truths. Why???

    • @CrypticCarbon
      @CrypticCarbon 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I am a scientist. I have never myself, or seen other scientists, use the term scientific truth. So, I can only guess what people would mean by that. A scientific fact is anything that is measured, or measurable, directly or indirectly. Examples: at what pressure and what temperature does ice melt, at what voltage on what gas produces what frequency of light etc. Googling, I see that truth in general seems to be used to refer to general ideas that people take as being true. Like historical events may be taken as true, but we will never know the actual specific details of all historical events in general. Or truth is used for generalized ideas, like gravity pulls things to the ground is a general idea as a truth, but it is not the exact fact of the exact equation derived from experimental data etc. Basically, a fact is from a measurement, while a truth is an interpretation or generalization that is too general to be truly specific like a fact. This is the best way I see to explain the difference.
