This is why my husband doesn't understand why I actually enjoy cleaning the house and the yard, why I don't like spending money unnecessarily, and why I enjoy learning everything I can. I feel productive and happy without being what you say is "slavish".
He thinks woman are supposed to be like his mother and sister and most women he has known: spending money needlessly for beauty of themselves and their homes instead of understand that simply eating healthy, drinking water, etc can keep one beautiful and healthy without spending too much money and you can make things for your home or you don't have worry so much about material things to make a home "beautiful". You don't need a lot in life to be happy.

I think another reason for laziness is low confidence. We are often beat down by the negativity of others and progress of so called “masters” that we think “oh what’s the point? They already did this idea so that’s copying/they must be better and i can’t match their level…” social pressures cause us to overthink what we should say and throw ourselves away just to avoid being picked on. For me, being authentic means you’re brave, you don’t care on how many admirers call you the greatest human being, you’ll realize no one is the super greatest. Maybe being average is yourself…

I spent my entire life preparing for winter when it was summer. As winter came closer, I became little depressed because I wasn’t living. All I did was preparing for winter which is future and all we do is live in the present moment. There’s no tomorrow. Everyday is today. Caught up in dilemma, I dread both ant and grasshoppers choice. So I live none. Then nihilism kicks in, just like it was waiting for me to finally give in. To live a meaningful life. That’s the only way out of nihilism. That means you have to fight comfort, embrace discomfort, being in the moment also optimistic about future. That’s the answer I’ve got for now.

Its nice to have some comforts like warmth, a varied diet or just food to eat, a non abusive environment... to be productive in an environment so uncomfortable is hell.
For example, being cold and uncomfortable, and then putting energy towards something knowing there is a big chance you can be warm afterwards gives reward... but to put energy towards things that dont put relief on the energy draining uncomfortableness is enough for someone to not do the action or expend the energy at all, hope is lost. Depression sets in and everyone tells the person they are lazy, but they dont see the torment of the pain of hunger, pain of cold, etc.

    00:00:00 - 00:10:00
In the video "Nietzsche - Destroy Your Laziness, Before It Destroys You", the speaker addresses laziness as a problem that can lead to a destructive lifestyle. They discuss how Friedrich Nietzsche's ideas can help individuals overcome laziness and become more productive. The speaker references Nietzsche's work Untimely Meditations and Thus Spoke Zarathustra, particularly the idea that most people let their laziness destroy them and become "factory products". They also use Aesop's fable about a grasshopper and ants to illustrate the importance of productivity in times of crisis. The speaker also cautions the importance of balance and not becoming slavishly productive. The video presents a story about a fisherman who becomes frustrated with advice to hire someone to help him catch more fish, and the speaker references Nietzsche's argument that focusing on progress for its own sake can distract from the goal of attaining a meaningful life. The video ends with a six-step process to achieve a joyfully productive life and overcome laziness, which includes exposing oneself to new things, solving a difficult problem in one's passion area, selling the product or service, becoming a master at one's craft, and repeating the process.
00:00:00 In this section, the speaker discusses the philosophy of Friedrich Nietzsche and how his ideas can help individuals overcome laziness and become more productive. Nietzsche believed that most people let their laziness destroy them, leading them to become "factory products" that are unworthy of being associated with or instructed. The speaker cites a number of Nietzsche's works to illustrate this point, including Untimely Meditations and Thus Spoke Zarathustra. The speaker also offers a fable by Aesop to illustrate the consequences of a lifestyle focused on pleasure and comfort. According to the fable, a grasshopper spends the summer dancing, singing, and enjoying the sun while the ants work hard to store up food for the winter. When winter arrives, the grasshopper realizes he has no food and approaches the ants for help. The ants turn their backs on the grasshopper, emphasizing the importance of productivity in times of crisis. The speaker also notes the importance of balance, warning that an excessive focus on productivity can lead to slavishness and a lack of enjoyment in life.
00:05:00 In this section of the transcript, the narrator presents a Brazilian story that illustrates the dangers of mindless progress and overworking. The story follows a fisherman who is enjoying his life and making progress in his profession, but a businessman advises him to hire someone to help him catch more fish in order to make more profits. The fisherman becomes frustrated with the businessman's advice, as he is already doing what he loves and does not want to become a slave to his work. Nietzsche is referenced as arguing that focusing on progress for its own sake can distract us from the goal of attaining a meaningful life. The solution lies in being joyfully productive, which involves finding one's passion and focusing on creating something of value to exchange for money. The book of the fisherman musclecomplete is referenced.
00:10:00 In this section of the video, the speaker outlines a six-step process to achieve a joyfully productive life and overcome laziness. The first step is to expose oneself to new things and analyze childhood interests to identify habitual passions and interests. The second step is to solve a difficult problem in the area of one's passion and turn the solution into a product or service. The third step is to sell the product or service to others in exchange for money, which can be used to fund one's life and improve skills. The fourth and fifth steps involve becoming a master at one's craft and repeating the process starting at step two. The speaker emphasizes the importance of fighting against laziness and slavishness to achieve a fulfilling and productive life.

I think that can be argued against
To me it seems Da Vinci was primarily an artist, and his greatest goal was to create accurate representations of nature.
I think this goal led him to an understanding of many fields such anatomy and mechanics, but I think all of it was a more singular pursuit than it is probably given credit for
Architecture, engineering, painting, can all be viewed as sub-categories of a certain kind of art.
It’s not like Da Vinci was an elite athlete and a painter, there is quite a correlation between his various interests

I had to pause the video for a moment go back to it. These is so wild. I was just talking to my five year old son. I was trying to learn more about him. Boring, was the word. My mind was stuck on the word, "boring". Boring gave me more visions. Like, 🤔 when a person learns a new skill, craft, trade, etc. As time pass the parson becomes better and better. So good the person knows everything about the skill, etc. In many cases people become bored with the skill and lose interest. I believe during the practice process something wasn't happening properly. Naturally a yig yang effects should have happened that creates something new for the person and the of the world. A good yang yang. A good yang yang is like the color purple. Mixing red (1) and(+) blue(1) together(=) makes something different(2).

As a nihilist I've always been skeptical of anyone saying what a good life is or how one ought to live. At the end of the day I think it simply doesn't matter what you do or how you feel about it. This just feels like another way to cope with reality.
Don't get me wrong, I don't think it's bad advice if you want to feel good about your life, but what's the point of feeling good?
People always ask how to live a good life, while I've always wondered why live a good life.
I'm not trying to dismiss anything here, these are just some thoughts I've had for a long time and I'm open to discussion.
I will say life as a nihilist can be confusing and depressing (or at least it can make my depression worse when I have it), so one might wonder why I'm still sticking with it if it's not "helping me".
The thing is, I'm not really deciding to be a nihilist, it's just whatever my mind filters things through these days. Paradoxically, the fact that nothing makes sense, is what makes the most sense to me. The fact that there is no objective truth, feels to me like the closest thing to the truth.
Perhaps this is a mindtrap. I mean while those are some of my thoughts, I'm still a human with feelings, wants etc. For a long time now it feels there's been a disconnect between what I think and how I feel and actually behave. Cognitive dissonance perhaps. Because I for example don't rationally believe in objective morality, but at the same time I've always had a pretty strong conscience and would never want to hurt anyone.
I could keep going for a while, but I'll leave it at that for now.

I’m kind of impressed how you turned Nietzsches philosophy into self-help. And not only: a very liberal and individualistic one. The idea of joyful productivity is actually translatable into “be happy while serving the capitalist system”. And that’s the point of the video, much more based on Adam Smith than Nietzsche, who was actually critical of liberalism. The story of the fisherman, in fact, may, perhaps, be useful to illustrate some of Nietzsche’s ideas, but not when it turns into a motif of work specialization and the idea that the world shall be governed by an invisible hand. It is the will of power, in Nietzsche’s view, that possibilities another world, one that shall be populated by the uber menschen under a great politics. But, one must also understand that Nietzsche had also a critical view on collectivism. The fable of the grasshopper and the ants, in such way, is not very exemplary of Nietzsche’s ideas. The ants may be seen as herd animals whose resentful nature shows a despise for life itself - what cannot be acceptable in a nietzschean point of view. The grasshopper on the other side truly enjoys the moment, the instant of the present, in a way free of the transcendence of a future full of promises that only bound men to theirs serfdom. The only problem with the grasshopper is that it intends to do it all by his own, which is impossible. Nietzsche, in Thus Spoke Zarathustra, reveals the core point of the eternal recurrence: the gateway - under which at every instant we must pass - is called Moment. In this Moment, according to Nietzsche, we must make our life into a work of art and truly live it, and desire to live if, despite its inutility and lack of sense. That’s why one must not be lazy: the lazy one does not dance to the beautiful song that is life.

While I agree that striving for mastery in a certain field or skill can be very rewarding and is certainly a virtue in itself, I think this has certain downsides as well. You made a good point with the statement that one should try to keep a balance between slaving away and laziness. But for me the balance can easily be lost again if you focus your whole energy on a single skill and shut your eyes and interests to the world around you. I don’t think that people that put all their time and effort into one narrow field are particularly happy or balanced people. And the example of Davinci is actually not at all an argument for mastery in a single skill - he was a polymath, a homo universalis, meaning he didn’t limit himself to painting. He also was known for being an engineer, scientist and architect. I guess what I am trying to say is: it’s perfectly all right to have different interests and doing different things. As long as you really think that the things you do are truly worth your time.

    What’s more lazy?
Staying at a comfortable job forever?
or working hard to amass a fortune to retire early, only to then sleep 10 hours a day, and only do daily survival duties?
We’re early settlers lazy because all they did was “survive”? Their daily routines were chopping wood, milking a cow, collecting eggs, and cleaning. That left time for 10 hours of sleep and no intensely stressful worries.

Was the grasshopper truly lazy or was his failure compared to the ant based on following
    1. The grasshopper was alone and not in an productive hard working team like the ant.
    2. Did the grasshopper even knew what he needed to do to prepare for the winter? Each ant was given clear directions and warnings by his teammates and team leader.

@uchihaXdeku I'll try. I'm a recovering alcoholic, 25 yrs. I also attend programs for other addictions. One had a weekly Friday night meeting called Anger Workshop. A meeting like no other! For sure many of us suffered from the chokehold anger can place on a person. I find anger management scathingly difficult & awkward. And also there were giant raucous laughs in that mtg. At the beginning we would pass around & read aloud a checklist of 23 signs of hidden anger. I could dig it up, I have it in my archives. It includes procrastination, chronic lateness, sleeping too much, sleeping too little. The subtle point is the word "hidden", as denial of our anger multiplies the toxicity. Hidden anger is sneaky. The upshot is: Work on the anger, then the symptoms improve. Gradually of course. Like other psychopathology, if we work on symptoms, but ignore the core issues, then symptoms won't budge
